Lumiere was well rested today, having had Walter - a fine boy, or so the dishes insisted - stand in for him yesterday.
This was a good thing, as a food shipment had come in earlier that day, and he was putting all of his mental prowess into trying to make sense of the ingredients that he had been sent. Even the master chefs in the kitchen hadn't the foggiest idea what to do with such things as chocobo eggs and gyshal greens, but Lumiere insisted that they keep at it until they figure it out.
While the kitchen staff puzzled over the exotic new ingredients, Lumiere supervised as the salt and pepper shakers hung up the "special curtain" so that Wasabi Boy and his unconventional romantic involvement could have some time alone to enjoy their woe free meal.

Today's Specials Board Reads:
Gedegg Soup, Choco Bread, Flan

You might want to be wary of the flan today. It took the entire kitchen staff to kill it without the aid of totema or proper elemental attacks and may or may not still be looking at you when you receive your order.

(OOC: As per the norm, I won't be available to play Lumiere until the evening, though I might pop by for a while before I head to work just to check for pings. If you don't mind waiting for a reply, I'll be happy to do the Lumiere interaction thing when I return from work. Fina is open!)

Lana opened the bookstore, very glad that it was almost the weekend.

Usually, the day after a commercial holiday meant marking everything you'd previously marked up down to 50% so that you could just get them off the shelves quickly. But Turtle knew better than that. The dance was Friday; people (like Marco and his theoretical date) might be swindled interested in getting their dates another present, out of sheer habitual nature.

Turtle was working on her story for creative writing in between tasks and customers, occationally looking up with a sigh. Where was that damn cash register? You'd think it would have come in by now...

Today's Squishy Flavors: Red, Burning, Purple

Turtle & Canary is open.

The twins opened the shop, not exactly in the best moods. Last night's camp out on the couch had been a pain and it left them achey and sore. Not. Pleasant. Especially when they each had a class and a whole day of work today. Setsuna and Ranma better have made last night worth it... which was not something they wanted to think about, at all.

In an attempt to lift the bad atmosphere, Hikaru played some ska today. Something appropriate and jumpy to heighten spirits.

Sparky's is open~

Annette and Ami were going shopping for their dance dresses, and Annette was excited. She had yet to leave the island and thought of this little shopping spree as a tiny adventure.

Glancing over at Ami as they waited for the cab, she smiled and said, "Are you as excited as I am?"

(ooc: that they left okay for radio, everything else NFB due to distance)

After he finished up in Anatomy class Neil decided to celebrate the arrival of proper winter weather by heading down to the Perk. He was in the mood for a proper hot spiced cider and that was not something he was going to find up in the dorms.

Grabbing up his book of Bardspeare, Neil bundled up and headed into town.

At the Perk he ordered his cider and a muffin for lunch and then carried his treats over to a comfortable looking chair by a warm spot. Shrugging out of his peacoat, he settled down to read and enjoy his treats.

Phoebe made herself come into work, even though she would have rather stayed hiding in her dorm room.

The zombie band didn't know what was wrong, but they did their best to try to make her smile at them. It worked a few times. Tino was silent as he helped her tape the zombies back together.

"Flag football means you tear the flag off of each other, not body parts," Phoebe advised them.

She got everything in order and then unlocked the club.

Caritas was open.

Neil had a couple of books as he came in to the Nest tonight and he smiled warmly to Mazikeen, hoping she had a good holiday.

...

This still get him umbrella access, woe!

Setting the books behind the bar, Neil started on his weekly cleaning ritual. He actually enjoyed it, even the polishing of the bottles.
