Whistling idly to herself some random tune, Turtle had put up a sign on the still-standing Gremlin Glitter display.

Totally not Magical that will make you think you're someone else.
No matter what you may hear

That done, she settled back behind the counter, unfolded the Wall Street Journal and went back to reading. Oooh, cool! MT was up a few points!

Today's Squishy Flavors: Red, Marmelade, Vegemite

Turtle & Canary is open!

[[ wait for the slow OCD is there please. Up early because I'm an insomniac ]]

Tori was extremely sore but that hadn't stopped her from showing up at work and opening the bookstore.

After setting up the drinks and treats for the customers, Tori took a seat and looked over her notes for Villains and Villainy. She had taken some Ibuprofen and had ice on her shoulder and knee while she sat. It was helping, so that was good. Tori made a mental note to check up on Annette after work, to see how she was doing.

Annette felt and looked like hell. Literally. Wasn't enough that she was beaten up, put in the clinic, but her Spy Tech final which is currently being played what fun! woot woot! wore her the crap out.

When she walked into the post office, it was to find Gladys standing on top of the sorting engine. Her arms were akimbo and she was staring down.

"Gladys? What are you doing?"

"The Sorting Engine Coughed. It Did Not Hiccup. It Coughed. I'm Going To Catch Who's Doing It."

Annette blinked.

"Not Tiddles Attack You Again, Miss Annette?"

"No. A demon did. I think. Be careful up there, okay Gladys?"

"You Bet I Will."

Annette turned and walked out towards the front counter. She didn't see Not Tiddles anywhere. Which could be a good thing or a bad, depending. Annette wouldn't dwell on it. She stuck a large jar of lollypops on the counter and sat down in an oversized chair. She was sure someone would ring the bell did they need assistance.

There weren't any finals today. Nothing until Friday, so Teddy? Goofing off. And trying to get the dingbots to take his last final for him.

It could happen.

Maybe.

The weather is warming up but there's a chance of rain, so the tarps and awnings are back this week. Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up. There's a large open area in front of it, where movie-goers can spread out blankets or set up lawn chairs. Some people are already gathered, picnicking while the sun sets.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs. Posted early today because I forgot the posters this week, and didn't want to forget this too. :/]

The Photo Hut, 4/25/07

Steerpike was a bit late in opening up the Photo Hut today. But then, considering who owned the place, he didn't expect it to matter much.

He might have smelled a bit of beef, but he had a roast beef sandwhich with him for lunch, so really, that was only to be expected.

The Photo Hut is open.

Alianne had awoken late.

Not that that in itself was strange, but the fact that her maid had not appeared to draw back the curtains and serve her breakfast was a bit stranger.  With a roll of her eyes, she dressed herself carefully, making a note to mention to the maid that so many of her clothes should not be taken to be cleaned at one time.

One formal dress and hairstyle late, Alianne ventured out to find breakfast.  Which was why, instead of holding office hours, Aly could be find in Jeff, God of Biscuits lounging at a corner table with a platter of delicate pastries, tea, and a quite thrilling romance novel.

[OOC: Very definitely open for interaction]

A small collection of steamer trunks and gun cases sat off to the side of the main doors to the church; occationally, Rosette would glance over toward them and heave a little sigh, before going back to helping Chrono give the place one last good maintenance cleaning. She was half tempted to go over to the baptismal font and break it, just like she had the first day she had arrived here in Our Lady, just for old time's sake.

Eh. She was too lazy. She was sort of looking around and thinking of what she might to do leave her mark lingering in the church a little longer. There was St. Joe Eyepatch, but something...

So while Chrono was disparingly trying to make sure the place could last another bout without regular maintenance, Rosette was trying to find random spots that few people would probably ever even see and leaving grafitti, carving R.C. waz here under pews and Never trust a nun with a gun inside the confessional and Trolls suck! in the belltower.

[[ open for all your churchly needs; it's my last church post! WOE!! ]]

Hey, look. Paper airplanes.

Wheeeeee.

Chad would be thinking that this was a big fat waste of time if he wasn't getting paid for it and he didn't get to listen to music while he did it. In that light, it wasn't so bad. And he was trying his best not to think about how much better it would be when he was an alien concubine ambassador.

[[ major stress over presentation = very uninspired post. either way, Empire's open ]]

Since it was such a gorgeous day, Jarod had spent the majority of it outside, wandering through the woods and trying to spot a teal deer, although not succeeding. Inspired, he'd opened the doors and windows to Caritas and had stocked a lot of ice cream and sorbet and fresh fruit in case anyone wanted shakes, malts, frappes, daquiris, coladas, mudslides, or other cold drinks.

Then he went to work making himself something to drink, since the idea of strawberry mango brain frappes left him a little urpy when the zombies suggested it.

Millie took over from Tori at one, freshening up the tea and treats tray and settling in with a good book while waiting for customers.

Today had been fun, surprisingly enough. Kabuto was whistling softly through his teeth as he opened the bar, making sure everything was clean and in the correct place. And if he wanted a drink? Dammit, he was having one tonight.

He had a notepad and a pen with him behind the bar, taking notes in an obscure form of shorthand.
