With all the new students arriving in Fandom, Mary thought it was time she stepped up her efforts to hire some extra staff to help out with the grand opening. Armed with her clipboard, she was camped out at the front desk waiting for applicants. They didn't have any food set up today, but there was still plenty of birthday cake if anyone asked.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Are you looking for a part-time job?
Now hiring. No experience necessary!
See manager for details.

[Open! I have this little thing called work during the day but I will be around in the evening.]

There was a bit of a rumble, low pitched, as John rode the motorcycle at walking speed, sidecar-trailer thing affixed as a sidecar. His leather jacket looked heavy and worn. He flipped up the visor of the helmet, revealing a face that hadn't seen Fandom in over two years.

He hopped off the bike, leaving it running (you never know) and walked down the causeway, leather jacket and chaps creaking with each step in the silence of the waves.

"I'm here," he half-whispered. "I'm home."

It was Fandom. Now, he just had to find when he was.

John Connor's back! Open for pestering!

Gabriel  was in a surprisingly good mood, and it couldn't be due to the weather, as he rarely cared much about it. Unless it rained and his clothes got wet, that was another trying part of being human. Anyway, he couldn't define a cause for this slightly disturbing positive attitude, and even considered a walk round the island during some point today.

When Ellen got to the bar, Tino and the zombies were removing the last pieces of wood from what looked like some sort of construction project.

She wasn't sure she wanted to know, so she let them continue to un-tier the stage and went to unlock the front doors.

[OOC: I'm around and Tino's available for your modding, if needed.]

Groovy Tunes, Saturday

The Monster Mash and various other movie horror-flick music is playing today, including the soundtrack, bad as it is, to Zombie Queen of Seattle. And yes, the kitties have catnip. Meanwhile, Charlie's working on the novel again, inspired by A.J.'s interest.

Fiona's chute wouldn't open. Oh, god, they'd jumped off the carrier, and her chute wouldn't open. She was gonna die, Elizabeth was never going to know about their parents, and she'd never find out what the Eye of Zantar was--

And just as she was ready to close her eyes and pray, someone grabbed her arm, yanking her upward, slowing her fall.

"Who--?"

A girl's laugh. "Derek called. He said you could use a hand?"

Groovy Tunes is open.

The store was open, the needed things were set up and put out, and Alphonse was there-- behind the counter, as usual.

There was nothing like swimming to clear your mind. After breakfast and feeding Berthold, River had left her room, which felt quite empty without a Buffy in it, and walked down to the beach. She had water, fruit and a drawingpad, and after a long swim she sat down on a blanket on the sand, just staring at the waves.

[open!]

Yitzhak was behind the counter, engrossed in the latest issue of Elle, and studiously ignoring the busboy and cook's bickerfest. (If the busboy didn't understand why everyone still seemed to have it in for him after the Spam incident, well, Yitzhak wasn't going to enlighten him and possibly lose out on some free entertainment.)

He might also have been contemplating a list of ways to use makeup as a possibly-lethal weapon -- you never knew, around here. It could come in handy.

Crowned with a rather fantastic blue and sparkly wig, a prominent Help Wanted sign was in the diner's front window. Might as well see if any of the new kids in town needed work.

Plus, it made the busboy nervous. That was always fun.

Luke's is open and just a tiny bit glam today.

Leo was excited about the party he'd just been invited to. Though he was trying to figure out if this meant he was a teacher.

Photo Hut is open.

Ching Tai - Saturday

Johnny and Ronan entered Ching Tai and sat at a table in the back corner of the restaurant. Not that Johnny was trying to hide from squirrels prying eyes or anything, just because he wanted it a little more quiet so that Ronan and he could converse without having to talk above any sort of group or crowd.

"So..." he said, staring at Ronan across the small table. "Nice night, eh? Think they serve beer here?"

(Ching Tai is open but thread with Ronan and Johnny locked to them please.)

No Setsuna this evening and Lucifer was in a surprisingly social mood. This meant he was behind the bar instead of off doing whatever a retired angel did.

No, not shuffleboard.

It had been far too long since Jim had come into work. It was time to change that. After all, in order to get paid, he had to work. The fact that he didn't get paid in money was probably the thing that kept him from coming in more.

As his payment, he took the twelve black piano keys and taped them to the wall to spell "JIM."
