There were ghosts in the streets of Fandom, so many ghosts, as if the gates of death had opened and set them free.

They were pale and lost, aimlessly wandering, confused and alone.

[ooc: Random ghost encounter post! Just put where you are in the subject of your comment, please, to appease my OCD.]

The owner had fled and the rest of the employees were in hiding, but the hotel was open for afternoon tea today. Gunther made sure of that.

He did have second thoughts about the wisdom of being open when three ghosts floated into the lobby and passed right through the buffet table.

[Open! Moddable service only today.]

Tino wasn't crazy. Tino wasn't going out there if he didn't have to. That was why he was holing up in Caritas, where it was safe and none of the beast things could get in. And where there was much-needed alcohol.

The zombies were sticking around, too. They kind of thought of it being like the band on the Titanic, though, playing nice soothing music for anyone who took refuge. Unless the drummer's arm fell off again.

[This is for anyone who wants to take refuge in a nice safe place with a sanctuary spell. NO OCD, no beasties allowed, and the regular Caritas post will go up later for evening.]

Town Hall, All Day

As soon as Zoe heard Hades' announcement, she headed to Town Hall.

Actually, the first thing she did was let out a string of profanity that would have made Mal blush, and if Grace picked any of it up later, she would only have herself to blame. Then she took Grace, promising John they'd be safe, and headed to Town Hall. She handwavily contacted the others in charge on the way, and started working on a plan for how to take care of Hades. At the moment, the plan involved a lot of violence on her part.

[Please obey the OCD!]

Pixie Dust, Saturday

Toby was confused. There were like, more creepy things than usual in town.

He decided the only logical explanation was a weekend convention of the strange and unusual, which made sense given who he'd met so far in Fandom.

Toby went into the back and started searching for larger sizes to put up in the store windows. Just in case those big beasts were in the market for improved fashion.

Pixie Dust was open.

Michael was at the diner.

He wasn't going to get time to write up a specials board.

[ooc: no OCD today, as Michael's getting kidnapped and I'm moving house! Tags are welcome before the grabbing.]

A decision had been made. Teams to go and find the artefacts needed to bring down Hades and seal the hole between the Underworld and Fandom had been formed. They'd been to gather the supplies and weapons and were now returning and gathering, ready to go.

There was one teleporter per team, ready to whisk them away to Mount Olympus.

[OCD coming! And done!]

Kevin was totally digging this exhibt. It kind of reminded him of some of the stuff Van did, but better. A lot better. Not that he would ever say that to Toby. He was sure that as far as lesbian occult artists went, Van was probably in the top half... at least.

This stuff was just cool.

Jaye had heard the announcement, of course, but had rolled her eyes and just turned up her TV rather than actually taking it seriously.

So by the time she got to Caritas and saw Tino there, nicely drunk by now, she said, "I should have stayed at home, huh?"

Tino nodded, and fell into the wall.

Roy had gone early into the station what with all the ghosts on the island. Maybe it was just some Fandom weirdness, but the way the amount of ghosts seemed to be increasing didn't much reassure him. When the lovely announcement about the island take over came in, he was sure.

A minute later the whole station was buzzing as Roy took charge and prepared the troopers for the invasion that was surely to come. Two were sent up to the school to investigate while Roy readied the rest of the troopers to patrol the most vulnerable areas of the island and to assist the students and townies.

By the time the two troopers made it up to the school and reported on the figure in a chariot waiting there, every trooper had gotten his orders. Ralph was left in charge of the station as Roy darted out to try and beat the deadline.

((Establishy and open! OCD with timing added! Roy will be off fighting, but he'll return to the station from time to time to check up on things. Feel free to run into him there or to come help out or ask for trooper/sheriff/town security assistance.))

Mohinder hadn't slept well. At least, that seemed the most reasonable explanation when he woke up, cold and exhausted, early on Saturday morning. A short time later saw him wrapped around a hot, black coffee, feeling considerably more comfortable and awake. He was scanning through a local newspaper when he heard the announcement.

"Oh," he told his mug of coffee dubiously, as he gave a reflexive glance at his wristwatch. "That can't be good."

The crack that Andrew had helped to open, that Hades had come to admire again this morning, was now wide enough for Hades to walk through without crouching. More and more spirits were floating through. The immediate rush was over, but every now and then more spirits would float up from the pit and out up through the caverns and tunnels to the surface.

Today, the streets of Fandom were going to be cluttered with the spirits of the dead.

Hades clapped his bony hands together. "Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about!" He stuck his head through the hole through to Tartarus. "PAIN! PANIC!"

It only took a moment for the two demons to come running. "Yes, Your Miserableness!" Pain yelled, barrelling through to Fandom's side.

Panic wasn't far behind him, looking very nervous about having Hades around again. "I thought he was gone." Pain elbowed Panic hard in the rib cage.

Hades rolled his eyes. He preferred the teal deer as minions. "Go to the surface and rustle up some native livestock. Take them down to the catacombs and let the Nightmares loose on them. They'll put up a fight, so take some back-up."

"Yes, Your Viciousness!" they replied in unison.

"Make sure you get the Mountie." Hades watched them go, then smoothed back his hair. It immediately flared up again. He whistled for his chariot. "Let's get this party started!"
[identity profile] ismyhairout.livejournal.com
Hovering above the main school gates was the Vice Principal upon a flying chariot led by undead horses. "Residents of Fandom!" His voice boomed loud enough to reach every building on the island. Godly voices were handy like that. "This is Hades. Lord Hades to you. Here's the thing. There's now a huge, gaping hole linking Fandom and the Underworld courtesy of moi. Give it a little time and soon this place'll be a nice replacement for the dark, dank hell hole I used to call home, souls of the dead and all. Take this as my official notice that I've taken possession of your little island. But hey, I'm a fair landlord. You have exactly," he checked his nonexistent wrist watch, "30 minutes to vacate the premises. If you fail to get your sorry little mortal behinds out of here by the deadline, you will all be forcibly evicted. Please submit any notices in writing to I Don't Give a Flying [microphone feedback]. The clock is ticking."

He leaned against the chariot and started whistling a jaunty tune. There was no doubt in Hades' mind that right now they'd be gearing up for a fight rather than packing their suitcases. This was going to be fun.

Hades on his chariot )

[OOC: And we're off!]
[personal profile] fh_beasties
They had been summoned and so they had come. All manner of creatures, they walked, flew, and slithered into Fandom, intent on wreaking havoc.

Today, the residents of this tiny island need beware not only of the dead, but of the very much alive.

[ooc: just like the ghost post from last night, ping in here to fight a beastie (crib sheet here), and note your location in the subject!]
[personal profile] fh_beasties
Pain, Panic and a few lesser demons had their orders. They had people to grab and take to the Nightmares in the catacombs of Tartarus. Simple enough, right?

Maybe not, but they hadn't had a direct order from Hades in an unthinkably long time. They weren't going to get this one wrong.

[OOC: For those who signed up to be victims so they can be kidnapped! NPC volunteers, please use generic demons, not Pain and Panic.]
[personal profile] fh_beasties
Each person brought to the catacombs found themselves trapped in a cavern with seemingly no exit. It was cold and lighting was limited and even their own breathing would echo off the walls. The Nightmares were lurking, waiting for fresh minds to taste, to inhale the scent of fear and panic.

Tonight they would feast and the catacombs would fill with screams.

Welcome to the Underworld )

[OOC: Once you've been kidnapped, ping in here. You're welcome to either play your thread out here or play it in your own journal and link to it here. For the sake of keeping things organized, please remember to link everything here. The Nightmares are just generic demons with no particular appearance. They'll look how you want them to look. Remember to check the email you received for any further details. If you need an NPC, head over to the NPC request post, but please remember that you're largely in charge of keeping yourself entertained. Have fun!]
[identity profile] laceycantlie.livejournal.com
Lacey had, in fact, not budged from Caritas all night. Only part of this had to do with her not wanting to risk a trip home with the havoc in the streets, though; a good chunk had to do with the fact that she'd quite frankly been too soused to find her way to the door even if she had wanted to head for home.

So now, hours later, she and Tino were sprawled out on couches in the lounge, engaged in a fierce and completely non-riveting Battle of the Hangovers.

Shame neither of them was particularly conscious enough to appreciate the suspense.

Not that there was much suspense anyway.

[OOC: Here's your Caritas sanctuary post for the daytime hours, if you want to hide out from the mythological wacky. OCD-free!]
