The ghosts were stronger now, after dark, and their numbers had grown. They liked it here. This was a good place, full of warmth to chase away the chill of the Underworld.

All they had to do was find it.

They glided through the streets, seeking for the source of that warmth.

[ooc: ghost encounter post, same as last night - don't forget the location in the subject!]

Town Hall, All Day

Town Hall was still effectively the center of command as those in charge waited for the away teams to return, and continued to form contingency plans for dealing with Hades. As one of the few safe places in town, no one was being sent away if they wanted to stay, as long as they didn't get in the way.

[OCD is up! Raiding and finale teams, your volunteering spots are in here.]

No, Lacey still hadn't left yet. No, she still hadn't recovered from her hangover yet. And when Tino mumbled something at her about how the good-for-nothing regular Sunday bartender hadn't bothered to show up for his shift, she was too out of it to realize that yet again she was getting suckered into something.

And so there was one pitiful-looking Canadian slumped behind the bar, doing her pathetic best to look like she knew what she was doing.

Probably best to get Tino to make the drinks, even though he wasn't in much better shape.

[OOC: Tino-modding will be your best bet as I'm busy in other threads, so will be slow. But Lacey's here!]

Despite her best efforts to just lay low (i.e. hole herself up) with the combination of her boyfriend turning into a rabbit and....whatever the hell it was that was going on outside, Charlotte still emerged out of her apartment to open the gallery. Considering that both Eve and Kevin had both managed to come to work yesterday and the day before, she knew she couldn't go and be bested by her employees in the matter. Hopefully, she hoped that most ghosts weren't too terribly interested in art, anyway. Besides, her attention was less on the exhibit and more on trying to keep a certain officer of the law who wasn't quite himself from going about his duty.

"Dale, I'm sorry," she said, picking up the rabbit lightly as he tried to slip out of the door yet again. "I understand that you feel you should help, but you're in absolutely no condition to do so. What are you going to do? Twitch your nose at them? You stay right here, or, so help me, I'll stop making you coffee. Don't look at me like that. I'd do it. I will..."

There was something new lurking in the pond today. Something even more terrifying than the scylla.

The water on the pond was bubbling, shaking, almost as if something was moving.

Approach...if you dare.

[And here is the hydra! This thing has nine heads, is badass, has breath that could kill you, and a sharp tail. Attack at will!]
[personal profile] fh_beasties
There were more monsters today, herds of centaurs wandering, troops of gryphons flying, and the slither of the lamia as she made her way across the island.

Yesterday, some had learned caution. And some had not.

[ooc: today's fighty post! There is OCD today, and there will be a fight-a-great-big-monster post up later today. Don't forget to put where you are in the subject!]

The passage of time was hard to tell in Tartarus and even more so in the catacombs. Between the cold and the dark and the Nightmares flitting in and out of the prisoners' minds, a minute could feel like an eternity and an eternity could feel like a minute. There was a giddiness in the air, a feeling of twisted elation that tasted sour when you breathed it in.

It was the Nightmares. They were feeding and they were happy. Too bad the same couldn't be said for the catacombs' occupants.

[OOC: Second verse, same as the first. Same as yesterday basically. Feel free to do the nightmares in your journals and post them here. There will be a post up later today for the raiding party. Please be sure to look in on it as they're your rescuers and will be coming to get you!]

The people in charge now knew where the kidnapped people were being kept. A party had gathered and they were on their way to the depths of the Underworld to bring their people back, no matter what stood in their way.

[OOC: For the raiding/rescue party and later in the OCD for the victims too. Please only join in if you specifically signed up for the raiding party.]

"Hey hey!" Hades appeared near the hole between Fandom and Tartarus. It used to be a barrier, and technically it still was, but he was starting to like to think of it as a hole. It was only a matter of time before it was a clear path between the two places and then he would set everything on fire and whoever was left on the island would burn. The whole thing sounded like a great deal to Hades. After all, he'd given them a chance or three and they hadn't taken it, so once everything was in working order and this was officially his turf, all bets were off. "How's my genius protégé? Wait, no, don't answer that. I already know the answer." If Andrew was putting into this what he was supposed to, he would have felt like his life was being sapped away by this whole thing. It was amazing what whispered promises of fame, fortune and power could do to get someone to go along with a plan that involved destroying an entire town and everyone in it.

The part about everyone dying might have been conveniently left out. Details, details.

He lowered his voice to something more calm and soothing. "Only a little longer, kid. A few more hours and the hole will do the rest of the work for you." After there was a human sacrifice to seal the deal. He hadn't decided who to use yet. Hades enjoyed the idea of Harriet Jones staying right where she was far too much to use her. The Mountie was up there on the list. There were a few other names too, but they were still up on the surface, so he'd see. There was plenty of time to decide later. For now, he had to keep Andrew going. "Just think, Andrew, think of all the power you'll have as soon as this thing is over, think of how you'll show everyone your talent. They won't be able to ignore you now. A couple more hours."

Fandom was fighting a losing battle. The last chance to turn the tables was fast approaching.

[OOC: NFI except for the lackey boy.]
