Alex opened up the Magic Box with a bit of time to spare. She'd handwavily bought herself a cup of coffee and a muffin, a nutritious breakfast, to give her a bit of an energy boost.

She checked her phone for any messages -- there were none, so Alex swept the store and settled behind the counter, contemplating a trip to Pixie Dust for some new shoes. A girl could never have too many shoes!

The Magic Box was open.

After class and after tidying the store up a bit and taking care of a few 'managerial-type' stuff, Chad leaned against the counter (carefully) with a book in his hands. One about colleges. At this point, even if he was feeling uncertain, he knew he'd probably being going, so now the thing was just figuring out where and what.

Today's Mix: Teddy.

Groovy Tunes is open!

"Belarus, Nate?"

"It is in your region."

"I thought the idea was that I was supposed to stay in Rumekistan."

"It's in your region. Bring Peter some beer. Import."

"Nate? I hate you."

"Sure."

"A lot."

"Good luck, Irene." He clicked off the phone, rubbed the back of his head, eyed the paperwork, and did not externally rejoice at the fact he didn't have to deal with it anymore.

Cable spent most of the day in discussion about post-Nemesis measures, instead. Much more relaxing.

[ ocd up and open! ]

Sure, it had been nice of Emma Leroy to send Lacey a care package of baked goods -- even though Lacey knew perfectly well that half the reason Emma was doing it was to make a point that she could run the Ruby just as well, if not better, than Lacey. (Probably better. She would infer that. Even though it completely wasn't true. Possibly. Maybe.)

The problem was that the package, which she'd picked up on her way in to work, had apparently taken three extra tours around the northern hemisphere en route to getting to Lacey, because ugh, gross. She hurried to the dumpster out back to dispose of it -- unceremoniously, sure, but it was a matter of expedience and her poor offended nose, really.

It wasn't until an hour later that Lacey realized what that brief, offended call from Emma, weeks ago, had been about. Not even in Dog River, and still managing to upset people without trying to. She was just going to think of it as a unique skill. Yeah. That was it.

Luke's is open. So are the windows. Sorry about the draft.

Viki had to admit that, really, the water was quite beautiful in the morning, as she sat with her legs curled beneath her and watched the waves break upon the beach.

It was almost soothing, though she wasn’t perturbed by anything, and she wondered idly how long the waves had been landing here. Or rather, as the island had a tendency to move about, just how long the waves had been here, carelessly breaking against each other in the tumble-over-the-head sort of play that waves indulged in.

What a luxury, right? To ceaselessly play. Viki laughed, startling the birds no doubt, and fell back against the sand to stare up at the sky.

[Open as a beach tends to be!]

After a trip to the Perk for an iced coffee, Teddy found himself in the park. The weather was nice and he was sitting on one of the benches, watching the ducks in the pond.

...he probably should have brought something for them to eat considering how they were starting to crowd up around his feet.

"Shoo! Shoo!"

This could not end well for him.

[[Open like a park!]]

Worf was still working on trying to get his bat'leth fixed.

Which may sound dirty but really isn't. In fact it's a very serious thing as his bat'leth has been in his family for five generations and you can't just throw something like that away.

Wellspring Arms is open but with a slightly distracted Klingon minding the shop.

Things were not going very well at the store. Sokka had dropped his Squishy and needed to clean up the mess, but unfortunately Apu had the mop. And was, apparently, having a hard time finding his way around.

"What do you mean you're LOST?!?!?!" Sokka demanded loudly, as he stalked the aisles looking for the SuperEmployee. "You LIVE here! You practically ARE the store!" He facepalmed. "Look, just go down the aisle in either direction, until you come to the end of it. Problem solved. Ta-DA!"

Apu called out that he'd turned the corner and somehow found himself across the store in the women's underwear aisle.

"No, you're NOT!" Sokka yelled back. "That's where I am!"

In the meantime, the floor by the register was still purple and sticky.

Today's Squishy flavors: Doubleyou-tee-eff, Meat with Meat Sauce, Grape Judas

The hedges bordering each end of The Gig were disgraceful, half wild and threatening to twine around the pasture fence and pull it down, or reach out and grab passing pedestrians. This would be why Rosie was out the front, wielding a hand axe as if the hedge had personally offended her.

At least, it would be what she'd tell people if they asked.

It had nothing to do with wanting to exhaust herself so she'd sleep. Or frustration so overwhelming that she wanted to scream. (And somewhere way down deep underneath, fear that she'd vociferously deny, because the distant voice that used to whisper to her that she wasn't who she thought she was had been right, and being right, had returned.)

STOP STOP STOP.
STOP THAT honestly, some people, no manners, no manners at all.
Think they can just chop down somebody's home.
So rude.
No manners.
Tell her to stop right now!
I am I am, will you let me handle this?

The hedge, as it turned out, was home to a family of field mice, who were extremely displeased at having pieces hacked off of it.

With a sigh, Rosie plunked down on the grass, cross-legged with the axe over her lap, and attempted to explain what she was doing and why to a cross old mouse who glared at her from inside the hedge.

[ooc: open, whee - want a horse? Come and get one! Want a job? Come and get one (or, you know, just email me)!]]

Seregil opened up the shop and settled down with his sketch pad to pass the time. If pictures of young dark haired men in leather pants were predominant in his drawings, well, there were a lot worse things he could be drawing.

The Book Haven was open.

Liz was on time for her shift, being in a much better mood since her shift last week now that she was fully recovered. Once she had arrived she made sure that everything was set up and that the specials were placed out.
