Hoshi was still not sure if she liked the idea of Captain Archer visiting this place, but there didn't seem to be anything she could do about it now except book a room for him and come up with a handy list of excuses as Isabel had suggested.

"Those aren't zombies. They're just dressed up for Halloween," she practiced saying. "That's not a psychotic German. He's just a little eccentric about his cooking."

The Beach, Thursday Morning

It was starting to get too cold for this.

Ghanima slipped off her shoes, letting her feet dig into the familiar feel of the beach. She was still of the opinion that sand should be hot; finding it cool to the touch during the day was still strange, even after all this time.

Taking a deep breath, she centered herself, allowing her mind to empty as she began moving through the basic forms of the Weirding Way.

Today, the E in the sign was made with wire and lilac-pink tea-roses, and Eliza, pleased enough with the effect to forgo her crossness with 'regrettably unavoidable shipping delays,' was behind the counter partaking in a cup of complementary beverage. There was a full pot ready, in fact, and she was perfectly willing to share.

He needed to lay out a map of some world hot spots in case he had to make any house calls. Just in case. Nothing big, of course. Big didn't seem to work.

It was charcoals again today, owing to a combination of the need to get somewhat messy and the lack of desire to have to clean up the shop, and so Katchoo was -- gasp -- out on the front porch with the large sketchpad and her cigarettes.

It was quiet enough out, so far, that she figured she'd have plenty of time to bolt on the off chance that trouble did pop up on the horizon. So to speak.

She hadn't bought a new alarm clock yet. It wouldn't have lasted a day.

Okay, so now there was a tired and out-of-breath Sokka standing in the middle of the room and saying "maneuvers" to himself.

The piles of paperwork on Roy's desk had slunk away, leaving a rather bored Sheriff behind. Not that paperwork had a whole lot of entertainment value. There was a file on his desk which he'd read already several times and now it was pushed to the aside as he seemed satisfied that he'd gotten everything from it which he needed to get.

There wasn't a whole lot left to do and so Roy had picked up that Gameboy which had been thoroughly neglected these last few weeks. That was far more entertaining.
