Worf had one of his phasers completely disassembled and was in the process of putting it back together as part of the field exercises required for passing the first year of Starfleet Academy.

When he finally had everything put back together he realized that he had two parts leftover and had no clue where they were supposed to go.

Which just put him in a more pleasant mood than usual.

Although she had her doubts at the very beginning of it, Daisy's weekend had been just what she needed before today. A fresh start on the week, a fresh start on any investigations, and, hopefully, a fresh start was all they needed.

She sipped her tea, sifted through her paperwork, and got ready to watch the way the wind blew.

[[ open station, of course! Availability wont to be spotty until evening EST, however, woe! ]]

As if having been up earlier than usual putting up posters for the karaoke contest tomorrow wasn't enough, Chad came into the store to discover that one of the pipes was leaking.

And it wasn't just a normal leak. Oh, no. It was leaking hot cocoa, which was not only going to be pretty bad for the floor, but it meant Prince Oscar Pedro was trying to lick it up as Chad was trying to fix it, which meant that he was going to have a very, very, very sick cat on his hands later.

Chad? Was not going to call this one of his best days, not by a long shot.

Joan was happy to be back in Fandom. Spending a long weekend with her family had not been fun - between her needing to be cagey about stuff that happened in Fandom and finding out about the Baker's lawsuit.

But, she was determined to put herself in the holiday spirit anyway, so there was Christmas music playing and she put together a new sign.

Teddy was online at work. No, he wasn't quite sure it was okay with his boss, but he needed to keep up the debate that a picture had started.

It wasn't quite a flamewar yet. At least he had that going for him.

It had been a week since Stark had sent him the information, and he was still working to fill in the bits and pieces. Now that he had the holographic technology at his disposal, though, work was easier. Whatever theories he had, he could put into practice; and that's exactly what he did for most of the day, caught between his laptop, his book, and the 3D images.

If there was anything odd about the island today, he hadn't noticed it at all.

"I just think," Cable said, shifting his coffee cup across the table, "That the Rumeki might do better with an outsider to direct their talks."

"I might've been your political babysitter," Irene muttered through the phone, "That doesn't mean I can micro-manage a bunch of overzealous politicians to that extent."

Cable smiled briefly. "Just tell them to sit and play nice."

"Yeah," she said, dryly, "I can see where that would go over well..."

"Sometimes, people just need a little guidance. A nudge in the right direction." He picked up his cup and sipped it. The island-given cocoa wasn't bad, he had to admit. "It is their first go at a fair democracy, Irene. And they've always been willing to work for it."

"Yeah, yeah." There was an audible sigh on the other end of the line. "Oh, who am I kidding. You already know I'm going to wind up doing it."

"Yep," he said, simply, and opened up another file with his unoccupied hand.

Setting up the drinks on offer for the customers today was far easier than any other day. He had set out a pitcher of cocoa which he got just by using the tap.

Getting a mug of cocoa himself, Seregil settled down behind the counter with his sketchpad.

The Book Haven was open.

With the prospect of Christmas looming ever closer, Lacey was as happy as a red-nosed reindeer who'd just been told she got to help pull Santa's sleigh and join in all the reindeer games and everything.

The fact that the dishwasher told her that washing dishes was going to be difficult today because of all the hot cocoa coming out of the faucets didn't put a dent in her mood in the least; she just sent him out to go buy an assortment of flavored syrups.

Coyote had been distracted by being grumpy that Thanksgiving -- and free turkeys -- only came once a year, and as such, hadn't noticed the fact that the bucket he was carrying into the sweat lodge to throw over the heated rocks wasn't actually filled with water, but hot cocoa.

As a matter of fact, he didn't notice until he came out from his morning sweat to discover that he smelled like chocolate.

Which would be why he was currently sitting behind the counter, completely naked save for the coyote headdress in his lap, licking at his arm and wrists.

What? Cats did it all the time. . . .

When Alex woke up this morning, she never expected to find hot cocoa coming out of the taps instead of water. Then again, this was Fandom. Alex arrived on time to open up the Magic Box, with a cup of hot cocoa in hand.

All in all, it was shaping up to be a good day.

Rusty was bored. He needed to get out more.

At the moment, he was sitting at the front desk and writing out some ideas for the party he and Mary had discussed on their date last week.

The Gig, Monday

"You lot, get out of here," said Bender, herding the horses out of the stable and into the paddock in a burst of productivity.

He picked up a mop and connected a hose to the nearest water source and jammed it on hard. Then quickly off, robot reflexes not in time to stop the spray of cocoa splash across the floor of the stalls.

"Oh," Bender checked for alcohol content. "-great," he finished, squelching off in search of his suction attachment.

Adam couldn't believe that it was all ready December. His birthday was ten days away. If that wasn't a wake up call, he didn't know what was.

With that on his mind, a somewhat pensive Adam went about cleaning and organizing the store. He made sure the comics were neatly displayed and if anyone needed him, they just had to say something and he'd be there in a flash.
