Finally, Kaylee had a real project. A flying car!

Sure, she had...virtually no idea where to start. But whatever, she'd figure that out as she went along. Today she was doing research on the...internet thingie.

And okay, maybe research also meant shopping for pretty underwear, too. It was just so easy to find the sites!

It was another day. Viki sighed a little at that, and the fact that it was simply Business As Usual and the routine would be unbroken for another week.

Really, there was nothing for her to do but get out one of her sketchbooks and draw, right? Well... Viki considered her sketchbook, then the store, and very deliberately got up and knocked one of the displays over with a well placed shove.

There! She had something to do that wasn’t routine! Viki hummed as she worked at picking it up.

Chad was used to sometimes having a cat that was too big skittering across the floor of the store and into the CD shelves. Galliano, however, was not usually big enough to cause any damage.

Now a dog, on the other hand, that was too big and skittering...

There was another crash, and Chad winced, wondering if he should have thought this through better before agreeing to dogsit for Jeff again. Nana had caused another shelf to come down, but she settled beside Chad, drooling on his knee, as he went about picking it up, and sorting out the unfortunate ones that were damaged in the process and had to go in the Discount Bin.

Chad didn't know what he'd do if Nana crashed into that one.

If it looked like Cal was just leaning back and reading behind the counter in between customers...

...well, it was pretty much true. But he was thinking as well! Deep, meaningful, makes-it-hard-to-multitask thoughts.

Really!

So far, Jen reflected as she made her usual rounds of the restaurant straightening tables and chairs and mopping up dried tomato-sauce splotches, she was having a really easy last semester.

Which was when the 'last' part of 'last semester' hit her, of course.

Wow.

So today, it wouldn't be unusual if your pizza's toppings were arranged to look like a clock face. Jen had a thing about clocks. And time.

Funny, that.

No more putzing around for Charlotte! She had finally settled on the next exhibit, and did her usual round about the town to put up posters to advertise the opening, hoping that there'd be a few more artful eyes in the crowd that came in with the new semester.

It was also rather nice how she could easily condense putting up posters and giving Elizabeth Taylor a walk into one convenient outing. And she was such a small, well behaved dog that it was easy to do the multitasking.

Dor cheerfully got the store up and running and chatted with the cash register on the sales and everything were going this week.

When the store was finally all set up he settled down behind the counter with a series of comics and tried to understand what this whole "Ratman: RIP" was all about.

Okay, it was morning, and already the day was heading down the crapper.

Coffee machine was fucked, there was a stack of paperwork on his desk that would just not get the hell out of his sight no matter how hard he willed at it, and his chair was squeaky.

Stupid squeaky chair.

Ray was not gonna let any of this beat him. He had a date tomorrow. Dammit.

It was his sixth day here. Arthur wasn't surprised to find the church mostly empty when he got there. He pushed inside, striding past the pews until he picked one at random. He sat.

He was quiet.

Eventually, he lit a candle for light, unwilling to rely on any of the strange science this place practiced. Then sat again, quietly focused inward, his chin leaning on his hands. He wouldn't leave until shortly before his 'class' started.

Liir was glad to be at work, because that meant he could do a little more reading up on dogs. He'd discovered a few things in the first few minutes of reading, like Makejoy's breed and a few things he should keep in mind.

As such, he had a pile of dog books sitting next to him at the counter when he opened the shop.

Mary wasn't sure why, but Gunther was pouting a lot today. He was also muttering in German. Maybe she should ask Hoshi if anything happened yesterday.

Her suspicions grew as she watched the gleeful look on Gunther's face as he put up his own menu on the specials board.

The idea had come to him sometime that morning. And, after getting over his laziness, he'd actually put the idea in motion by procuring a load of golf balls and one golf club. That was all he needed. With items in hand and Biff's amazing gift on his head, Loki wandered outside the apartment building, set himself up a good distance away from the pool and then actually started whacking the golf balls into the pool.

See, it was even more entertaining than he'd imagined when he thought it up. Of course, he knew he'd actually have to go into the pool after he'd run out of golf balls but he wasn't there yet and it wasn't that cold. By hitting it into the pool, it ensured that he never missed. Every shot was a hole in one.

So, he just kept whacking golf balls. And maybe was doing some play by play under his breath. Golf was fucking boring.

Except when he played it.

[open, of course! work is boring. i usurp responsibility! and i've had this image in my head since last night. had to come out!]

Hurley opened the shop.

He may have been absent-mindedly destroying the stock, what with quietly pulling petals off daisies at the counter.

He was not mumbling anything along the lines of 'she likes me, she doesn't like me' as he did it. No, of course not.

A new semester! Exciting time! All kinda of new people to come in, for meditation, or to use the shooting range (which they probably weren't allowed to do) or even to try to buy a gun (which they definitely weren't allowed to do.)

She was feeling much perkier. Possibly the combination of Reno-snuggle-time last night and all these guns, today.

Rikku was weird like that.

Jenny reorganized some of the mannequins into vaguely suggestive poses, then stuck a sign on the door and plunked herself down behind the counter with a cigarette, a magazine, and a 'ask me for fashion advice at your own risk' look on her face.

It was the perfect sort of day for sitting in town with a mug of hot chocolate, which was why it was particularly convenient that Alice had arranged to meet her little sibling here for just that.

Well. She supposed she could have gotten a mocha or latte or one of the other indecipherable drinks, but really, why would one pass up hot chocolate when it was offered?

After his shenanigans earlier today, Loki had decided to spend the evening at the bar. Of course, when he'd walked in to find only Tino and his greasy face behind the bar, he'd been a little at a loss. Usually the old guy was around and he, at least, made for some decent conversation.

When the old guy failed to materialize, Loki took the initiative and just slid over and behind the counter and checked out all the alcohol. It was sad in a way. For him, at least.

Tino kept glaring. When Loki made to start tossing the bottles around like a movie he'd seen a long time ago, Tino's glare turned into a growl. It was almost cute in a way.

Eventually, Loki poured himself a glass of soda and amused himself with making faces at Tino.

What was a bunch of bored teenagers supposed to do on a Friday Night?

Try to hustle each other at pool, of course.

And so it was that a particular posse of people burst through the doors of Fast Eddies, quickly claiming a table, pool cues, an unholy amount of alcohol, and some rather frightening looking bar food.

Dōjima claimed the nachos for herself with vigor before sitting on the pool table, much to the disgruntlement of the NPC employee. "SO! Teams!" she announced, waving a chip. "How do we want to play this?"
