Hoshi had her hands full today. Gunther was up to his old tricks again, trying to steal her specials board and put up his own menu. Hoshi wasn't going to let that happen, and she gave him an earful.

She may be afraid to speak up in class, but when it came to the hotel kitchen, it was obvious who was in charge on Thursdays.

It really wasn't much warmer than it had been yesterday, but Sarah was in an immeasurably better mood. Her weekend social plans were taking shape nicely, and the activities of the night before made her feel actually useful for the first time in weeks.

She put a Madonna CD in the store CD player and bopped around as she finished putting away the action figures from yesterday. She didn't mind the work, but she was actually looking forward to going home and filing her weekly report at the end of the day.

Jamie was trying to figure out what would be the perfect item to push on the new students coming. Unfortunately there was no such thing as gremlin repellent.

Which of course made him wonder what kind of spray, lotion or smell would repel a gremlin and led to him experimenting with some of the more smellier substances in the store.

"C'mon! Sniff it, Apu!" Jamie said holding out the cup of foul smelling liquid. "Tell me if you think it would repel a gremlin."

Apu refused to sniff it. Which led to Jamie chasing Apu around the store with the cup.

"C'mon! Sniff it! Sniff it!"

It was going to be a long day for Apu.

Katchoo had successfully ditched Clocky (who'd been sulky or something over not getting to share rum with the squirrels) for classes today, but when she made the mistake of heading back to her room, thinking of blowing off work, there was the persistent little spawn of the electronic devil, bumping into her foot and beeping excitedly.

In fact, Clocky didn't let up until Katchoo gave in, grabbed her sketchbooks, and headed out the door, at which point it herded her all the way out of the dorms, into town, and to the art store.

"Happy now?" she groused at it; Clocky blared happily, undeterred by the print of Dali's The Persistence of Memory that Katchoo put up on prominent display right by the register.

Priestly was dressed exactly as advertised in his "Tip me or DIE" t-shirt in honor of his first shift at the diner, his mohawk large and red, his jeans thoroughly trashed.

The kitchen crew didn't much know what to make of him. Especially when he got into the debate about the disappearance of Amelia Earhart with the dishwasher.

The package from San Francisco arrived first thing in the morning. Inside was the report that Lindsay has sent out for but judging by her reaction she wasn't exactly happy with the results.

When she was finished she put the report aside and started reading the note Claire had sent along with the report.

Apparently a lot was going on back home as Lindsay was chuckling a lot as she read her letter.

She moved around the store to tidy things up before picking up the sign to put back in the window.

It looked to her like it was time to order a few more things for the place.

Irene had finally given up on his constant phone calls and set up the information feed he'd been trying to get her to set up for a while now. Cable was now following the progress in Gaza (and Congo, for one) through his laptop, occasionally glancing back to see if there were any more updates.

It paid to have an investigative reporter for a friend. Especially if you had his kind of hobbies.

With all of that set up, he swung by the front door to switch the sign to Open, glanced out to see if there were any newbies out on the streets (or anyone else of interest), and then took a seat.
