Joan was happily at work today. She was excited about selling flowers for StuCo and pondering if she wanted to send any herself.

She made a new 'E' for the sign, this one out of pink carnations.

The sound system at Pixie Dust seemed to have developed a mind of its own again, and it was blaring when Romeo ducked into the shop to start his day.

That was not a surprise to Romeo, and he made only a token and futile effort at shutting it down before giving up and getting down to the business of opening the store.

He was just glad, as he went to rearrange the stock (including some new lingerie for Valentine's Day) that today it was folk rock instead of polkas today. It still wasn't exactly his taste, but he would take it.

You may be a construction worker working on a home,
You may be living in a mansion or you might live in a dome,
You might own guns and you might even own tanks,
You might be somebody's landlord, you might even own banks

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody

Romeo reflected ruefully that he supposed he should be grateful he'd opted to serve a mad pixie, rather than anyone worse.

Triela was running late to work thanks to just having returned from a hand-wavey trip back to Rome. She hadn't even had time to get back to her dorm room so she carefully stacked her luggage near the desk. After she assured herself that the cello case wasn't going to fall over, she went about doing her job.

There was a fish to feed, after all. Also, she opened the closet to make sure that Leonard was still there. After a quick glance se slammed the door because that was disturbing, even for Fandom.

She was beginning to suspect that the closet was the Freelance Police jail and that her employers had only ever arrested the one person.

Alex opened up the Magic Box after class, pondering a shopping excursion for later in the week. Maybe Harper would want to come along.

She'd be sure to ask her after work.

The Magic Box's open!

After checking on the horses Bender propped up a pair of stakes outside the smithy, and picked up a bucket of broken horseshoes.

Bender started throwing them at- towards- in the general direction of the stakes. His aim was just fine, thank you.

It was a quiet day with nothing much going on. Ender spent a few minutes discussing some things with JARVIS before he settled in to work. He liked the AI, even if it was just a computer; he was a lot easier to work with than a lot of the people he'd met.

Which was why, occasionally, he'd ask a question in the middle of wiring one thing to something else, questions that had little to do with the wires and more with general stuff. Engineering, physics, the works. Sometimes even things that weren't related at all, just to see how the AI would respond.

Cable came into town hall relatively early, clinging to the coffee he'd snagged from the Perk on the way there. The law enforcement convention had gone off without a hitch, which was good; they'd done well in negotiations with the machines and with the power issues in the ensuing week.

The local level was well-organised. Time to start planning more towards the future.

As soon as he sat down, he called Irene.

"This is my lunch break, you know," she muttered.

"I'm sure the pineapple yogurt will keep."

"I hate you."

"Let's talk about Gareb. And Gaza."

"Lunch'll wait."

Even if it was a little sad that it was over, there was still the fact that the convention had happened at all that kept Daisy still buzzing brightly over it. Her very good mood was palpable in her little corner of the station as she worked away happily at her computer, good old data entry, fingers flying as they entered in information about all the guests and panels for the records. She was even humming a little, every so often, the kind of hummy reserved for complacently repeated tasks, and when you showered, during the soapy bits.

And she only imagined her mood would improve as the day went on, considering there was bowling much later, and the prospect of Kowalski finding that pepper shaker slipped into his locker.

Seregil opened the shop and settled down behind the counter with a mug of hot chocolate and a travel book about warm destinations. He may still be focused on the cold when they had lost power last week. Cold like that was just wrong.

The Book Haven was open.

Hannibal had an assignment that he had to complete. He had no freaking idea how he was going to carry ten lunches plus drinks.

"Yeah, Whitaker," he said, while still mulling over how to do this in his head. "It should be ten lunches and ten drinks and do you have a cart?"

That was idea number one.

The server shook his head. That was idea number one down the tubes. The lunches were brought out, ten containers and ten drinks. He didn't have enough arms for this.

"Can I get delivery on this?"

That was idea number two.

The server shook his head and said something about how Hannibal was already there, no delivery was needed. That was idea number two down the tubes.

"Look, if I give a few of your waiters twenty bucks, will you lend them to me to bring this crap back?" Hannibal asked.

That was idea number three and the one that would make him a broke teenager.

The server, however, smiled. "Fifty. Each."

"Fif--" He frowned and pulled out his wallet. "Twenty now, thirty when we get to the school without the lunches spilling."

The server nodded and Hannibal, with two WELL PAID waiters in tow, took off with the food. This had better be freaking good food too.

There was plenty to do in the store when Chad got there today, but it still didn't take him long to do it at all. So it turned out that he'd still be spending a lot of time just flipping through the usual music and fashion magazines, idly scratching the purring Prince Oscar Pedro beside him on the counter.

He supposed he should be working on college applications, or something.

But he had some ready under the counter in case Teddy came in.

Daisy'd offered to get the shoes while Loki could set up the board. She gave him the benefit of the doubt that he wouldn't enter in something mean or stupid for her name, and that he wouldn't break the damn thing trying to work it.

"They didn't have your size," she said upon return, presenting him with the abonimations of footwear.

They actually did; Daisy just thought the next half-size up were much uglier, and therefor worth inflicting on him.

Not that hers were much better; she had a seat to switch them up, contemplating on how she'd never own a dress that would actually match these things.

[[ Daisy's here for the permissably modded daaaaaaaate, but the post is open for all your bowling and arcade needs! ]]

Another year older and sadly this year Arashi was really feeling it. It didn't stop him from telling 'you're so old' jokes with Tino and the Zombies though.

And even though there was work to be done, they could still have fun.

Running a lot bit late into work this morning, Teddy was about ready to fall over and just hide from the world. But, oh no. There were comics to be looked at!

And put away, but that wasn't the important thing! It was all about the reading right now.
