Johnny was just going to be over here, sitting behind the counter and doing much of nothing. Lazy day was lazy and he figured the kitchen hands could handle the menu and anything else.

The menu did kind of look awesome.

So, she still had that vaguely sore throat from yesterday, but tea instead of hot chocolate totally helped make that better and the best part was? She was still dorkishly pleased about Monday.

Ino swept, and cleaned, fussing with her plants and babbling nonsense at them. (Shut up, they appreciated it, okay?) Then she flopped down in Cable-san’s chair and settled into studying with one of her notebooks.

There was a merciful lack of tasks to do at the shop today; the stock seemed fresh, and everything was even clean and organized. Sarah ran the vacuum and then settled back in her office with the door open in case anyone came into the shop. She'd gotten an email on her secure CIA account; clicking it open, she found an update on an old case that had always bothered her, preying on her mind and keeping her up some nights.

A teenager named Johanna had gone missing one stormy night, and, because her parents were part of an international smuggling ring, Sarah and Bryce had gotten called in to poke around. She'd had a sister, Louise, who had alternately plead for help and defied any offers of the same.

And now Louise had gone missing too.

Sarah looked at the photo of the sisters attached to the report for far longer than she needed to. The vision of Johanna was all that remained.

Murdock was soooo over winter already. Snow, ice, freezing rain; it was getting tempting to head back to California. But he had work to do, so there he was, in the freezing cold, tinkering around in the lighthouse.

He was more or less tinkering around with anything that wasn't weather dependent.

Stupid winter.

Old hippie music. Claire had old hippie music stuck in her head all day, somebody her mom probably listened to whining about blowing in the wind or scrambling in the dust or ... okay, the song about getting stoned didn't entirely suck, even if it did make her jones something fierce.

She decided to rearrange the store to put '60s-themed items in a display near the front, singing under her breath as she did.

Looking around at the exhibit, Teddy... was pretty sure he was never going to be an art expert. It was just confusing to him.

So he was reading a book at the front desk. Something about a murder mystery where a guy killed some woman's husband right before the divorce and they ran off into the west. It was interesting!

Amber was in an excellent mood when she came into work today. Yesterday was long, busy, with the onset of a cold. But today? She was feeling great. Some of which could be contributed to the cold medicine she took which was making her feel dingy. Yay! The rest could be placed on her night with Liir. It was nice and tonight they were going flying. Wheeeee!

...oh, she did hope Cal's back was fine. Ooops. Maybe she knocked him back too hard yesterday. But maybe she didn't since he said what he said.

"Apu! We're out of Charmin! Stock the shelves, please!"

She swept along the aisles while munching on the three candy necklaces she put on around her neck. Cute!

Toby was going okay when he got to work. It wasn't desperately cold. There was electricity and heat in the store. Oh, and there was still alcohol and an old GQ behind the counter.

See? Working wasn't so bad.

Liir was in a rather good mood, all things considered. He made his way in, greeted the utensils one by one, and got started on a few warm dishes he hoped would help warm people up despite the weather.

Mina felt rather foolishly today, as she cradled a cup of tea in her hands. In the name of being sociable, she'd almost let slip important details at Caritas last night.

Details she needed to keep secret.

Perhaps she just should give up on being social. But a recluse would not have any chance to gain valuable information from the town.

A happy medium was needed, apparently. She sipped from her tea, mulling over all these thoughts. She would happily tear herself from her thought if anyone came by, however.

There was a slight jitter in Jeff's limbs this morning. He jittered all the way down to the hotel, and Nana couldn't quite stop sniffing at his ankles. There was something in the air, something fiendish. He wasn't quite sure what it was yet, but it was something.

Perhaps he had some super powers he didn't know about anyway.

Whatever the case, Jeff was pacing around the lobby a lot that day, and all the specials board contained was chicken scratches of something no one on the staff could quite make out.

Alice had a strange sort of wanderlust as she opened Groovy Tunes today. The mood where you took what you needed, and hoped it would last, and kept it close to you as you dashed out the doorway. Something was calling for her. It was exactly this sort of mood that had led her to Wonderland, a long time ago, and Looking-Glass Land shortly after. Perhaps she needed to go adventuring, once more.

Groovy Tunes was open, and Alice was humming to herself distractedly.

Ben stared down at the pair of ugly, ugly, ugly bowling shoes in his hand with a frown. "I don't know why my own shoes aren't good enough," he complained to Tahiri. "They're black! And shiny!"

He frowned a little harder. "And, you know, match each other."

Boring day was boring and by the time Penelope got to work her feet were seriously dragging. Tino took one look at her and poured her usual beer and stuck an umbrella in it. She tried to look excited about that but failed miserably.

The band was playing Wilson Phillips and she had no idea who they were.

It was going to be a long night.

Caritas is open.

As soon as class had finished, Ichigo headed down to the store, only stopping to buy some croissants from JGOB's. When he opened the door, he found Jeremy waiting for him in the middle of the shop.

"You're supposed to at least pretend that you're scared of me," he told the rat, fully aware that he made a terrible mistake last week. He sidestepped the rat and dropped the paper bag with pastries on the counter. When he turned, Jeremy was right behind him, looking up curiously at the bag.

"Stop it. You're not that cute," he grumbled. Ignoring the rat, he went to put the sign in the window before he went to straighten up the shelves. Jeremy ignored the ignoring and followed Ichigo around the show.

Today there was coffee, and a ton of it, to make up for the staying up all night painting away a whole ton of frustration (and the aftermath of accidental porn). Not that it was really working all that well; Katchoo kept dozing off over her sketchbook at the register. Clocky was there, though, to trill loudly and startle her back to consciousness until the next drowsy fit.

Lucky Katchoo. Really.
