Chad had his headphones on while he was behind the counter, which might not have been that unusual, but he was actually listening to some sports programming on the radio. He thought it couldn't hurt to catch up on everything before Sunday, especially since he knew more about fashion than football and that was....not good.

Arthur may not have been able to take his crossbow to a hunt just yet, but that didn't mean he couldn't take some more time to observe the wildlife, catalogue their tracks. He'd done this once before, the day after the incident with Liir, but he found he was more focused now than he'd been then.

There were more things he was able to safely ignore, or at least delegate to a nice little category in the back of his mind.

Being in the preserve had one more upside. He could bring his sword. While he was not as strangely interconnected with his weapon as Leto was with his crysknife, he still felt a hell of a lot better with the blade at his side. As he checked for prints, his hand nearly always rested on the weapon's hilt. Making certain it was there.

Life on Fandom was far easier to swallow out here. Even if it was rather wet. And cold. And damp. And hazy. And the ground looked downright uncomfortable.

Arthur was so bloody happy he had a proper bed here.

[[ open preserve and open post! ETA: any threads go before leto in the timeline, plz ]]

Another day, another sketchbook. Really, that was the sort of day it was—calm enough to be just slightly on the side of dull, and yet not so dull that it was impossible to be content.

Though, admittedly, most people would probably have been more than ‘slightly dull’ if they had been reduced to reorganizing paintbrushes by the colour of their handles. Viki found it was enough to amuse her.

Which was all that mattered, really.

Today Dor sat thoughtfully behind the counter as he half-heartedly read a Bitterwoman comic.

The last few days had given him a lot to think about. Especially where his roommate was concerned.

Meanwhile all the comics were chatting about the hell last issue of "Last Crux" was all about.

Boy trouble and issues were totally the last thing on Ino’s mind as she leaned against the outside of the building and waited for Dojima-san to show up after her class. After all, not nearly so much fun bullying them into letting them go naked if only one of ‘them’ was there.

And, as she sipped her hot chocolate, she had to admit that part of it was purely the fact that Ino was rather certain that Dojima-san would be able to bully in a far more... diplomatic manner than Ino could.

Ino’s methods of intimidation were rather... blatant. She did a little spin out of pure anticipation and wondered if she ought to ask for bullying tips. Oooo, maybe!

[Ino is here for Dojima, but the onsen is totally open for your hot spring~y needs!]

Harper straightened up the store, then sat back to work on her costume sketches for the play. She thought some of her costume ideas were just fantastic, though anyone who saw the sketches might think otherwise.

Things were quiet in the hotel. Maybe a little too quiet. Mary sought out the usual amusement of reading Casino Death Watch, but found it too depressing to see how many Vegas properties were going under. She still hadn't found a buyer for her shares in the Montecito. Her dreams of making a quick sale for a huge profit and then starting a college fund for her little sisters didn't look like it was going to happen anytime soon.

Liir was actually somewhat settled to things (mostly because he knew the markings would be gone by tomorrow, almost certainly), and so made his way to the bookstore whistling jauntily and occasionally hopping. He was also early.

Book straightened, tea sorted, store dusted, he opened the door and retired to behind the desk with a book on knitting, one of the skills he'd given up on sometime last year and had decided to try again.

The Book Haven was open.

THE MEDICINE MAN IS IN (somewhere around here)

Perhaps after work, she'd meditate. Or maybe she'd take a trip down to the gym to get in some sword practice. Decisions, decisions.

Okay, Ray figured he was gonna start this one off slow. Real slow. Some of these things just required dedication and commitment and stuff like that. And patience.

Tea bags.

He'd gone in early and lined the edge of Day's keyboard with dried-out tea bags. Just four little tea bags. Earl Grey. Yep.

Then he took his seat and got to work. Yay, work.

Today, Jenny was hard at work. It just wasn't on anything involving clothes. No, she was seated behind the counter working on an action plan for nailing Arthur Pendragon. Apparently someone named Leto had already beaten her to it, and she was not letting anyone else get the jump on her. She was Jenny Sparks. She had a reputation to maintain.

Plan A
1. Find mythological personage.*
2. Ask him if he wants to have sex with me.
3. *CENSORED*
4. Brag forever.

*Note: this will require actually being sober for a stretch.

Jenny was nothing if not brazen.

Why not?

Like he'd slept for too long, or something. But he was on time. Honest.

Rikku had her bags packed for a weekend of crazy-good-times with Dawn, and she was most definitely not going to worry about Reno taking off for the weekend. Okay, maybe a little. But it seemed like an easy enough job, and he'd keep her posted on the rest of it.

So now she was just going to fidget her way through work.

The Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center was open.

Ben was just going to stop at the bar tonight. And that's when an old man in a robe called out to him. "Hey, you!" the old guy called out. "You're working the bar tonight."

"Wait, what?" Ben asked.

"Come on, it's easy and the tips are good," the old man said. "And it's not like other people haven't worked the bar right off the street. And it's usually without any sort of authorization. So come on, you're hired for the night."

"Is this cool with the owner?" Ben asked, going along with it for some reason.

"Of course it is! Why else would I be giving you this opportunity, dammit?" the old man asked. "Young people ask too many questions and they're all pointless."

"What will you be doing while I'm at the bar?" Ben asked.

"I'm doing something in the back room," the old man said. "Now come on, get in there, get to work. We're already open."

And that's how Ben Reilly ended up working at Caritas tonight.

[OOC: It was time for Ben to get a turn at the bar. And there will be a TV in the back room for the Super Bowl. Because that's awesome.]

Jen's plans for doing a nice, simple, hassle-free inventory were derailed within about two minutes of arriving at work, when she walked in and found absolutely nothing where it was supposed to be. Chairs were missing from tables, there was an alarming lack of pepperoni, and where were all the spatulas and tongs?

Further investigation (because she had Investigative Skillz, yo) revealed that someone on the staff had been busy after she'd left yesterday.

Busy in the storage room. Improvising a very large game of Mousetrap.

Or, more accurately, a very large game of Jentrap. Well. That explained the experiments with super-sticky pizza dough.

Now if only they would stop snickering and leave the room long enough for her to morph and bust her way out of there, but nooooooo . . .

[OOC: Service-modding time since I'll be gone pretty much aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall day and night. Tiny phone internets are slow at the con hotel, blergh. As for this post . . . I blame this week's BSG, okay? I had to cope somehow.]
