Daisy's mood was quite the good one as she came in to work today. Not only did she already have something to look forward to at the end of the week to make dull hours go by more meaningfully, but there were people back on the island, and maybe people being back meant something at least passably interesting to make those dull hours lessen in numbers.

Plus, she had a new decoration for her desk. Sure, she'd originally intended it for the bathroom, but then thought it might be a nice touch of atmosphere for the station, what with all that calming water trickling over dolphins. She just had to find the right place to make the feng shui just a tad bit better around here.

There was something wrong in the state of Denmark.

And in the store of Groovy Tunes as well.

It was a subtle problem, perhaps not at first easily perceptible, but, once realized, the full force of the gravity of the matter could hit a person straight on like a slap to the face or a kick to the shins.

There was no music playing in the store today.

Chad had tried to play some music. He even tried briefly some soft, unobtrusive Muzak. But it was all too loud, too invasive, because a week of drinking non-stop had caught up to Yasutora Sado and made him its bitch. He didn't feel the full effects of it yesterday because he was still slightly buzzed, but today...

...Chad had been crushed under an I-beam and hit by a truck and blown tumbling the length of a football field into a wall by a Shinigami and he still had never felt such a pounding in his head before, ever.

So there was no music.

Shhh, Groovy Tunes is quiet and open.

After quickly shoving the leftover cruisewear into boxes, Romeo settled behind the counter and pulled out his phone. It was early in Verona, but not so early Benvolio wouldn't be awake.

There was chat about Romeo's father (hale and well), the weather (beautiful in Verona, too bad to think about in Fandom), and Rosaline (Glowing, apparently.) "And how fares your love?" Ben asked, a smile in his voice.

"Healthy enough, yet not as well as one might like," Romeo said, clenching his eyes closed out of the effort it took to admit this. "I married again, and not to her."

A burst of horrified laughter came from the other end of the phone. "Laugh not, to my sorrow 'tis true," Romeo said plaintively. "It was a horrible, horrible mistake. If I send the papers to you, might our lawyers find a way to undo it?" He briefly explained the situation, wincing the whole time.

Benvolio sobered. "Your love still lies entirely in a bottle and your eyes, then. Ah, coz, we can do this but 'twill be at some cost."

"Not entirely," Romeo protested.

"Perhaps not in the whole, but so near to that as for it to be a fair description," Benvolio said, voice going tight. "Send the papers Post Haste. They should be able to cancel the wedding as quick as anything."

Romeo was not, after all, the first Montague to marry hastily and unwisely. He thanked his cousin profusely before hanging up and trying to go back to work.

Somehow, he couldn't concentrate.

Worf was still in a foul mood this morning. His evening handwavy activity of beating the crap out of the punching bag did not help his mood.

As a result the store was more anally cleaned than usual. And there was a good deal of objects being slammed down a little more forcefully than usual as well as a few Klingon curses muttered under his breath.

Today might be a bad day to poke at the Klingon.

Ender was happy to go back to work after the cruise. His hands were itching to get to work on something. He got into the nitty gritty of the operation today for just that purpose, and by the time lunch came around, he already had his hands covered in cables and grease.

He let the mouse-droid zoom around his feet. He still hadn't named it.

It had taken Jack a few days to negotiate his release from the insane rodents who'd captured him. They didn't recognize "parley" as a concept...okay, that wasn't true. It'd taken a few days for Jack to figure out how to undo the knots they'd tied him up with (he'd been a little distracted with how squirrels learned to tie knots at all). And now he was sneaking his way stealthily around town.

Through a park.

That had trees.

Where squirrels lived.

This plan could've been better.

With everyone back on the island, Charlotte decided that it was time to get back to work on attempting to settle on a new exhibit. She really felt like she should have done it for this week, but there simply wasn't enough time to pull a Wednesday opening out of her butt. Well, there could be enough time if she absolutely had to, but, since she didn't (ah, the blessings of owning your own gallery!), she wasn't going to.

She was, however, obsessively working on all the details and spreadsheets on her computer at the main desk to try to plan things to their most optimum success. She had a week and change, so there was no excuse to not achieve perfection.

[[ the gallery may be closed but the post is definitely open! ]]

Alex opened up the shop, wishing she was still on that cruise. She would definitely be doing that again, oh yes. She did a quick sweep of the shop, finding every thing looked in good shape.

She pulled out her laptop and connected to the Wizards Web. Time to do some shopping.

The Magic Box's open!

After a week spent exploring the cities near the island, Seregil was back and opening the Book Haven as usual. He settled in behind the counter and worked on a letter to Nysander, describing his adventures.

And how, really, that one incident with the constabulary wasn't his fault at all.

The Book Haven was open.

It was a far tanner and more cheerful Robin than the majority of the office was used to seeing, when she strolled in with her coffee.

She was gonna bring a dog, but they'd thankfully been distracted by something when she'd left, so they'd been marginally less clingy. She'd still probably go home and check on them at lunch anyway.

The cruise had been nice, but when Triela arrived at work she realized something rather shocking.

She'd actually missed the place while she'd been away. It was a rather confusing thing to realize. After all, it was mostly boring routine nothiingness punctuated by utterly random bursts of being shot at by one of her employers.

...

Which, when she thought about it, was sort of like being at home.

Hot chocolate. Jack had a craving for it. And coffee. So... he was at a table by the window with an empty third cup, mixing ratios of coffee and hot chocolate together to see how well they go together.

There was a sign hung up outside of Caritas above the normal one that read 'open.'

Weither or not it completely countermaned the open sign or not was yet to be seen.

St. Chad's Day!
Warning:
Zombies bathing within

The stage was a little sloppy as the Zombies had rigged some sort of pseudo bath and managed to haul buckets of water from the hotspring for it.

At least they had an awesome rendition of "Splish Splash" going on.

The Gig, Monday

Bender was still on vacation. He'd pulled and pulled and pulled a tacky plastic tree out of his torso. The fronds tickled. It was leaning lopsidedly against the paddock fence.

Two of the more curious horses hadn't been quick enough to dodge the pink umbrellas that were now wedged behind their eyes. Bender had beer - more importantly free beer - and a little model boat he was launching at the trough wall, moments away from a fiery death.

Reality could bite his shiny metal ass.

Liz arrived on time for her first shift back at work since she had been on the cruise, which she had enjoyed. She quickly made sure that everything was set up and that the specials were placed up front before she opened.
