She'd had warning, you know. About class this morning, thanks to Francine having taken it the previous term. Don't think that made Katchoo any less cranky about it.

Prospect of scattered thunderstorms be damned, she was sprawled on the front steps outside the store with her almost ubiquitous cigarette dangling from one hand while she scratched out lines on the sketchbook page with the pencil in the other.

So maybe the sketch looked a little like Chuck Bass being chased by one of those giant missiles from class this morning.

What? You wanted her to do serious subject matter all the time?

[OOC: My flag boy says to your flag boy, "I'm gonna set your OCD on fire." And he did. It was tragic. Nevertheless the post is open. *earworms!*]

Tara was giving all the books about magic a wide berth today, thank you very much. She didn't need to turn herself into a plant again anytime soon.

She settled behind the counter with some special orders to package and ship off. Someone in Saskatchewan kept going through the dried acacia leaf like she was raising a whole army from the dead.

[No OCD, open store! Possible SP of 'I have the day off.']

The chance of scattered thundershowers meant that, really, Maron was going to do the smart thing and bring an umbrella with her to work. Once there she took a look outside and decided that it really would hurt if she just made the umbrellas a little more prominently displayed.

Definitely couldn’t hurt.

Thanks to Fashion class, Jennifer found herself unable to fit into her dress clothes. Obviously, she'd have to buy a suit that would fit her when she was all She-Hulky.

But, this didn't stop her from putting on some of her baggier clothes and come into work. She just hoped it wouldn't freak out her boss.

Hoshi was feeling rather grumpy today. She chalked it up to the latest letter from her mother, urging her to take up playing the piano instead of applying to colleges for next year. Hoshi had no interest whatsoever in music, but her mother didn't seem to get that. Then again, as far as Hoshi was concerned, her mother didn't understand anything about her.

She ended up amusing herself by starting a scowling contest with Gunther. So far, he was winning, but Hoshi was too stubborn to give up.

Priestly arrived at the diner today to discover that the kitchen staff had taken over the sound system to play the most ridiculous song ever on repeat.

Priestly wasn't sure he'd make it through his whole shift.

It was that time again, time for Castiel's weekly sermon.

After the reactions to last week and how confused it made people, he decided to go with a topic he could get more . . . particular on.

This was not necessarily a good thing.

"I would like to speak to you all today," he said, "about Hell."

Really not a good thing.

See, Castiel had been to Hell. He'd seen it, and what it did to souls. He'd seen how it could turn otherwise good, righteous people into twisted things that delighted in the pain of others, how after decades of torture a soul could forget the very things that made them them in favor of the promise of not having to hurt any more.

And he went into particulars. About tortures he'd seen used. In detail.

This was not for the faint of heart.

Not to say, of course, that Castiel seemed to be enjoying telling you all this. His expression ranged from stoic sadness to mild disgust -- a decent range for a guy like Cass -- all underscored with a deep, honest pity for those who would suffer these torments. And he finished off with "Heaven is much nicer."

Dude needed to hire a speech writer. For serious.

Peyton was making lists at Groovy Tunes. And calling colleges and record studios. She had to find something pretty soon since her time here was almost up.

Groovy Tunes was open and Peyton would be very glad to be distracted from this headache.

Anyone coming into Book Haven today might be a little startled to see books and bookshelves in motion - apparently on their own.

Millie had decided to do a little reorganizing.

The area immediately outside the clinic seemed to be a good spot as any. "I'm keeping my promise, River," Karla whispered, as she stepped outside. The sky was threatening, and the ground was still wet from an earlier shower, but the air was clean and fresh and it wasn't raining now.

She wished briefly that she was wearing something nicer or had some music, but that hadn't ever stopped other-her or River from dancing in that other world, and it wasn't going to stop her here. "Shall we?" she asked.

[Both the road and the clinic are open and public places, though Karla's here for one.]

Pixie Dust, Thursday

Right. Elena had a video to work on, for her Awesome class. She'd need some outfits for that, and luckily, she was in the right place for it. Let's see. She'd need at least one spangly all-out hot evening gown -- red or black, was the question. And a volunteer she could pretend to be escorting, and one she could throw down with, and one to chew on her neck. She should post a sign-up sheet or something.

Pixie Dust was open, and its employee was completely using the shop as her own personal closet today.

Fiona came to the store today in a much better mood than the last time she'd covered for 'Dite. In fact, she was downright friendly to the customers. She didn't know what most of it was or what it was supposed to do, but she could read a box and the backs of the magazines and the little shopping advice pamphlets near the front of the store so she did her best to be helpful.

And she decided to buy another one of those silk robes. Next to the yo-yo that she carried around with her at all times, it was just about the best gift she'd ever gotten if the other night was any indication.

Her time on the island was rapidly drawing to a close, something that kept throwing Eve into thoughtful moods at the most random of moments. Like now, when she was going through the reception desk and came up with one of her homework assignments from six months ago.

She stuffed said assignment in her purse and turned back to the computer.

One of her last days playing Oregon Trail at work, woe.

Tino's back was itchy. He was demanding that Ben help him scratch it.

"No," Ben said. "Get a back scratcher."

Tino was displeased. His back continued to be itchy.

It was an exciting night at the bar.

It was early, like the sun wasn't even out early. She hated the dreams. She hadn't had dreams this bad since... since that undercover detail went from bad to worse. Dani ran fast trying to tire herself out and stop thinking.

Crews' Zen tracks droned on in her iPod and even though she barely listened, it helped. Maybe this was the real reason Crews listened to the Zen tapes. The guy reading had a calm, steady voice. It calmed her nerves.

Dani kept running.

The running helped and when she arrived in the station Reese felt better.

She switched on her computer and settled in for a long day of paperwork. She should be happy there was no murder board here, right?

Reese looked at the toy soldiers roaming around the station. "So," she began, "which of you is Ralph?"
