Scarves were in. That was the only explanation Jenny had for why there were boxes and boxes of them, all styles and fabrics, in Pixie Dust when she opened up on Friday morning. Rather than making tasteful displays or even heap them on tables, she opened up the boxes and put a sign in the window:

SCARVES
3 for $1
Fall's Hottest Trend!
apparently

Jenny had to go to the student council meeting in the afternoon, but other than that, Pixie Dust was open.

((OCD free. Also, Jenny has a new PB! She even smokes. Her name is Heidi Mount. Not Montag, thankyouverymuch. Whee!))

Something disturbing had happened to Dani last night.

She had been forced to fold her own laundry(*gasp*) when she noticed something strange on her television. There was Steven Colbert bringing a live goat into the television studio and claiming he was going to stare at it until its heart exploded. Comedy or not, Dani didn't think the idea was very funny.

So even though she hadn't even named the other abandoned goats that she'd rescued, Dani started making plans to head to New York City and rescue Colbert's goat.

The Gig was open, and Dani would try to recruit anyone who stopped by.

Arya opened up the store, hoping the day would prove an easy one.

She settled in behind the counter, making sure her inventory lists were up to date. And she'd probably double and triple check them because she was thorough like that.

Francine, looking slightly annoyed as she perched on the table and crumbled bits of Apple Brown Betty in her fingers? Neverrrr.

"So Professor Skywalker brought up something in ethics that I think can apply to us," she said, standing up and brushing off her shorts. "He said heroes need people like us to stop them from being idiots. More or less. We can probably expand that to 'everybody needs their friends to stop them from being idiots at some point.'"

"If you're not from the here and now you may not have heard of this, but we've got this thing called a Designated Driver. When people go out to drink together, one of them volunteers to stay sober so there'll be somebody to get them home safe. I think we can try to be that for each other when it comes to stuff that happens on the island.

"We may not be able to designate somebody in advance to ...not be a dumbass, but we can at least think about what to do when that happens, right? Sooner or later we're all gonna have to be have to be the one to convince our drunk, stupid, bleeding, gremlin-bitten friend that streaking or going back into the battle or challenging Principal Zoe to a shootout is the Not The Best Idea Ever."

[OOC: open and smurf-less!]

Since she'd figured out by now that things tended to be quiet in here, Lily decided she would take the opportunity to test out some of the supplies. You know, in case she had to give recommendations to anyone. In reality, it probably looked like she was playing with paints and pastels like a kindergartener.

In her snuggie. Shhh no one would know.

[The OCD ran off to Vegas. It'd send a postcard but it likely won't remember anything on Monday.]

Harper was still technically using the crutches. In reality, she stashed the crutches behind the register once she was sure no one was watching.

Today's new arrivals of used merchandise something already with a price tag of $15. Harper thought it was kind of cute, though not cute enough to sell at $15. She scratched that out and replaced it with a $5 price tag.

Things Reborn was open!

There was no sitting still for Turtle Wexler at the office today. She was up on her feet more often than not, bouncing around as she tried to take care of one task or the other, here and there, even babbling to the plants a little just because she could do that while up on her feet.

She just couldn't sit still. She wished she could. Her stomach felt a hot mess of gurgling anticipation over the first Student Council meeting later. The meeting where they'd be voting for president.

She wasn't going to be nervous. Wasn't going to be nervous. No being nervous...

If she stood still, she might get nervous.

Therefor, she bounced.

Considering the recent outbreak of little blue men with stick fingers, Valentine almost felt that the theme for today was too easy. However, it was just too good to just forsake for something more clever.

There was even a sign brought into the matter: Feeling a little blue? Let Dite's help you!

Because she'd carefully picked out a color-coded display by the counter, with something for the ladies, something for the gents, and, naturally, something for the both of them to enjoy together.

Meanwhile, she was just going to sit there and be amused by how well Demosthenes managed to sound like a complete idiot in the paper. Man. It just brought her back.

Dite's Decadent Delights is open!

As weeks went, this one had been fairly quiet. Jonas didn't know if that meant things were leveling out or if it was merely calm before more storms. Whatever it was, he was trying not to dwell on it. He'd understood most of his classes this week and felt a little more comfortable in exploring the island proper.

That would be why today found him at the beach. At first, he'd almost been frightened of the looking expanse before him. The water was moving, so unlike what he'd seen in pictures, and everything was just so much more vibrant than he'd imagined. The first few hesitant steps onto the squishy sand almost sent him stumbling but he regained his balance and got the hang of the new surface quickly.

There was a chill in the air so Jonas didn't dare attempt swimming but he did take off his shoes and press his feet into the sand, letting the cool grains slide over his toes and feet. It was rough, coarse, and the only thing he could relate it to was gravel and even that didn't seem right.

Crouching and reaching for a handful, he let it slide through the fingers of one hand while getting close enough to the water that he could put his other hand down and feel the waves just touch the tips.

Jonas didn't really know if he'd be leaving anytime soon.

[the beach is an open place!]

Okay. Ray had never felt sympathy for Frannie before, but this was it, this was definitely it, this was-- "We need a new coffee machine."

Sure, Cooper had probably socked one in way back when, but that didn't mean the new-hetherfor-somethingorother-to-be-named-old coffee machine was any better, especially not considering the cement Day had to be pouring into it day after day after day.

Heh. Day.

So he was on the phone. To, uh, Chicago.

He was quickly remembering why he didn't talk to Frannie much. "No, listen, I don't need cappuchino--"

Liir decided that today, he was going to learn a skill. Inspired by a few of the craft books in the back, he'd picked up the supplies for crocheting and was currently attempting to make...

Well, it was round. Roundish. And the swirl was kind of interesting. He'd just have to see what came of it, anyway.

Morgan was in again after yet another job. He was starting to wonder if the crazies were coming out now that the weather was a little cooler. That just led to thoughts about decomposition rates and all kinds of things he didn't want going on inside his head, which is why he decided that he was going to look at his inventory today.

...and actually make it around to see the angel, if the guy didn't walk in with his usual timing sometime today. It'd been too long and he wanted to make sure the plumbing work was holding up.

Addison, a steaming latte and her laptop in front of her, was trying to write an email. Something that could encapsulate her new home without making her sound crazy.

In the end, she sighed in disgust, closed her laptop, and pulled out a trashy romance novel to read instead.

[It's about time I got her out and about. Post is open, of course, for all your Addison and/or Perk-ly needs!]

Marion wasn't in the best of moods today, considering she lost the coin toss to decided who had to tape up the zombies today. Tino tried to give her a smug look about it and got a peanut to the eye for his trouble.

When Ben and Daisy got to the theater, Ben realized that he probably should have checked what was playing before they came down.

Now Showing:
SCHEME 8 FROM THE COSMOS

"Well, it's not really a good date movie. Or a good movie. And, actually, it barely even counts as a movie. But it's playing, and that's the important thing," Ben mused.

[OOC: Ben's here for the person who foolishly let me choose the movie. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Theater is open for everyone else who might want to see one of the worst movies ever made, though!]
