Arya made it to the store a little early, taking some time to enjoy the sweat lodge before officially opening up the store. She was considering taking a short trip home. To check up on the Dragon Rider and the Varden... and maybe her mother too. Busying herself with tasks about the store, Arya decided it would be nice to see her homeland. If only for a couple of days.

The Park, Friday Morning

It was a glorious fall day, so Didi walked into town to get a latte at the Perk then took it and a few stale croissants cadged out of the girl behind the counter to the park.

She took a seat on one of the benches by the pond and started tossing out crumbs by the scant palmful, trying to stretch the time she could spend doing this. The ducks squabbled over the crumbs, but they were ducks. Squabbling was part of their job.

Yes, he'd finally gotten the knack of it. As such, he was working on a rather nice shawl that he thought he might present to Ino once he was finished. Especially since it was in purple yarn.

Since he'd learned it all from books from the bin at the back, he didn't feel terrible working on it at work.

"I think I saw the original version of this on television once," she mused as they waited in line for popcorn. "Or at least the television series. My older sister has an unhealthy obsession with the genre."

Support Services Meeting: The Park, Friday After Classes

Francine didn't have classes on Friday, which meant she had all morning to bake. This time it was stuff she could just layer out in a pan and cut up, though, so the food table was covered with lemon squares, rice krispy treats, and raspberry-oatmeal bars.

She might still have been licking marshmallow off her fingers when it came time to climb up on a non-food table and say, "I bet you're tired of hearing 'I see you survived your relatives visiting!' If only because duh, since you're not dead."

"You might have spent the weekend trying to hide all the wacky that is Fandom from them, or getting them used to it or just--" Cough. "Working up the courage to tell them, but at least they didn't have to find out the hard way, by something trying to take over the island or eat us all in our sleep while they were here."

"We've been lucky about that, but we can't count on staying lucky. What if something big and bad happened while our parents were here, or even worse, our kids? Um. Our possible future kids for anybody who wasn't here this spring. We should have plans in place to deal with keeping the really n00bish defenseless people safe while the other folks are off fighting the bad guys."

Pixie Dust had gotten in a shipment of costume jewelry, and today Jenny amused herself by trying it on. She wasn't much of a jewelry fan, but really, if it didn't look decent on her, who would it look good on?

Except for during the Student Council meeting, which Jenny was obligated to attend, Pixie Dust is open.

Harper had a present from her dad, a very tacky-looking ceramic coffee mug with a palm tree painted on it. He claimed he bought it while on his trip to Palm Beach, but Harper knew better because it said "Aloha from Waikiki!"

After a few minutes of deliberation, she stuck the mug next to the cash register with a $1 price tag. Being completely disappointed by your parents: priceless.

Okay, so maybe Ching Tai was close to 'Cafe Fina' in terms of letters and stuff, but they were not exactly the same place. Maybe Jak's sense of direction had finally failed him. Really, it was lucky he'd remembered to pick Dinah up at hers, not at-- you know. The restaurant he'd reserved seats at, which turned out to be a Chinese restaurant and not that place where Zack worked.

But. Fine. Jak would make do. Right?

Marion was not hiding at work today, which was something Tino was thankful for. He had gotten tired of people bailing on him after last weekend. Marion thought her ducking out last week was perfectly acceptable. Creepers hitting on her was not in her job description.
