Scully had texted a general invitation to the student body for the not-quite-club for Monday afternoon, out at the campground, to help with the reconstruction of the trebuchet, and discussion of any new science they were interested in.

She'd also gotten lemonade and cookies at Jeff, God of Biscuits. Trebuchet construction was thirsty work.

[open for all, especially for any geeks who'd be interested in that sort of thing. ]

It was going to be a hot day and, as such, the NPC Landscaping crew had thought ahead and had erected a few tents over the garden area so people wouldn't swelter. They'd still have to battle the heat but the sun would be less intense.

The trees that had been planted last week were now being tended to and today's job was back to planting flowers in the garden. The lot was large, giving the workers a lot of room to plant. The NPC Landscaping crew was hopeful for variety and a lot of pretty colors.

They weren't a fickle bunch.

"What happened to all the frying pans?" was the pressing question of the day, once Lacey's kitchen staff had assembled and she got to confront them about the mysterious wholesale lack of a certain vital piece of kitchen equipment.

The cook scratched behind his ear and glanced away; the busboy and dishwasher shuffled their feet and mumbled something incomprehensible as they turned bright red.

Lacey put her hands on her hips, pursed her lips, and gave them a narrow-eyed look. "Oh, and now I suppose you're going to tell me some kind of . . . flying frying pan-eating monster crusading against the use of cooking oil showed up over the weekend and did away with them?"

She shouldn't have said that; it got her a hasty chorus of vague agreement.

"Well, I guess you're going to have to find some way to deal with egg orders this morning, aren't you? (The grill was fine for everything else, but Lacey was oddly particular about how the eggs got cooked. You couldn't make an omelet on the grill, for crying out loud.)

Didi sang to herself as she reordered the shelves today. It was a little weird (especially because she didn't sing that well) but it helped her keep the rhythm of her work without getting bored. It also had the side effect of annoying Apu.

Didi wouldn't admit how much she enjoyed that.

There weren't any complaints from rodents or elderly residents who by now should know better. There wasn't any malfunctions with the coffee pots or the lockers or even the desk drawers. There was a manageable and not at all absurd amount of paperwork in Angua's inbox.

She shook her head slightly.

There was always at least one day a month like this. At least one.

In her opinion, they could be just a little more generous with those kinds of days, really.

[[ open station is open...and unfortunately not at all reflective of RL...stupid Mondays ]]

Ashley was in a pretty good mood when she arrived at the gym this morning. Class had gone well on Friday, she got through the weekend without anything weird happening and Jessi was nowhere in sight.

She settled in behind the counter with the new issue of Guns and Ammo magazine.

After his classes, Bod didn't immediately go back to his room. Instead, he ventured into town, just walking idly before eventually stopping in at the bakery. It was hard to ignore the smells wafting through the open door. Once inside, he couldn't make an absolute decision so he ended up getting two donuts, a danish and a cinnamon roll with some hot chocolate to drink.

He would never eat all of that but it'd looked good and, if worst came to worst, he could take it back to his room and save it for later. Sweets were a luxury he really liked having access to. Food and drink in hand, he found a spot at a table outside the bakery, deciding that being outside today was a good plan. He could enjoy the warm weather and watch people as they passed by.

[Town places are open and donuts are good.]

Dani the mutt was in the barn, contentedly eating the "breakfast" she'd stolen from a garbage can at J,GOB. At least, she was content until she changed back into her human self.

"What the hell is this crap?" she shrieked, scrambling to her feet. Her shouting startled the horses, but Dani was too freaked out to care. "I hate this freakin' island sometimes!"

The Gig was open, even if the owner wasn't having a good day.

It was a new term, again, so Maki had thrown her sign in the window.
Welcome to Fandom.
20% off for new students if you can prove you're from another time / planet / reality.

Makita, for her part, was dressed almost 'normally' for this place. Cargo pants, tank top, her ever-present hat, and a Squishy to poke at. For Science.

(She was half-convinced they were Black Magic. Although tasty Black Magic.)

Pixie Dust was open!

Claudia found herself working in the Edwardian Socialist section, today. She hadn't even known there was an Edwardian Socialist section. She suspected that a customer had just come in, pulled a bunch of books from the Edwardian era with socialist leanings and made the section themselves.

She also had no idea that H.G. Wells was an Edwardian Socialist. As far as she'd known, Wells had stuck with time machines and invisible people.

She was totally going to have to investigate this further.

Alex had found every possible spell book in the store that had anything on the four elements. She was trying to get better at mastering earth, air, and fire. She had a pretty good handle on water.

Time to try her hand at earth.

The Magic Box is open.

Price was going over notes for his class on Friday. He was going over something that was, by all accounts, classified. Top secret. But he was actually crazy enough to be sharing it with teenagers... even if they all seemed like he could organize them into a unit and they'd be able to take over a few countries.

Not that Price wanted to, or even thought about doing such things. But sharing top secret black ops missions with them, well... he was already a 'war criminal'. What harm could it do? They'd just get important life lessons, really. That was what was important.

He'd gladly look up from his notes if anyone entered the shop. He'd not even bother to put them away, if anyone got nosy.

[ooc: Open, OCD free, and I totally didn't forget I switched shift days. Really.]

Monday came around with absolutely no fruitly intervention, barring the Skittles appearing in his desk, and Ender didn't really have any problem with those. He momentarily contemplated finally writing down that note to Tony Stark to see if his pointed comment to Hiccup about Burt Bacherach had made its way up yet, but...

Well. He'd figure that one out when he heard from Stark again.

Instead, he made his way to the holographic display and started tinkering with it, using it to come up with very simple simulations of some of the lifeforms discovered on Shakespeare planet. It helped him think.

Chuck wouldn't have come into work today if he had known all Tino was going to talk about was how he totally felt a earthquake today. What an effing idiot.

"You're an effing idiot." Chuck felt like sharing that bit of internal monologue.
