Even if it meant hiring in two people who weren't beautiful women, Shunsui was realizing that this whole having someone on staff every day except for one thing wasn't half bad. In fact, the only thing that could make it better was if he had someone on staff for every day, so he'd found the HELP WANTED sign from last year, brushed off some of the dust (and unfortunately some of the glitter, and put it in the window.

Just in case. If someone so happened to want to be here on Thursdays, the only day left unclaimed by one of his employees, he would be more than happy to give it, and then he would only have to stop into the shop when he wanted to.

For today, though, he'd actually be somewhat responsible, and pour a little sake into a bowl and set it on the counter for poor Turtle-chan, who was, clearly, still shaken up by the horrible events of yesterday. He patted the reptile's shell reassuringly and let him know that the sake would make everything better.

The Gig was open for business today and Helen was here for anything anyone might need.

There was still a HELP WANTED sign in the window and Millie was somewhere wandering about the store tending to this and that if anyone needed her.

After talking to Karla yesterday during Reserves, Tara decided to make today a study day. She pulled all the demonology texts in stock from the shelves and set up a little research station at the front counter.

Not that anything she'd read had entries on Trigon or anyone like him, but hey. Maybe she'd get lucky and find "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Demon Spawn (But Were Afraid to Ask)."

It was that semi-optimistic spirit, and a sincere wish she could read ancient Sumatran, that carried her through the workday.

[OOC: Open shop! OCD is hiding from the determined Wiccan.]

When she'd closed up on Wednesday, Hercules the cat had been decidedly reluctant to return to the hotel with her, so she'd left him overnight again in the store. To make up for it,'Dite brought a special treat of salmon and called for Herc as soon as she opened.

He didn't come. He didn't even meow in answer. 'Dite was just beginning to be concerned when she caught him sneaking in through a partially opened window.

"What -- Where have you been, you naughty cat, you?" Closing the window, she turned and frowned at him, only to have him give her his back and saunter - saunter - up the stairs toward the office.

Rolling her eyes at his antics, she settled in behind the counter to wait for someone to enter the store. She actually didn't have long to wait.

"Hi! Welcome to 'Dite's Dec--"

Don't care. Don't want. Don't care )

'Dite stared after her. Just stared. For several long moments.

And kept staring.

Then she threw love bolt after love bolt at the place where the woman had exited. Finally she stuck her tongue out at the door.

"If she comes up pregnant and has orange tabby kittens I'll be a laughing stock. Hmph. You already are a laughing stock, lady." She stamped her foot, her voice turning to a whine. "Why doesn't anyone on this island know how to treat a goddess?"

Then her eyes narrowed and she raised her head to gaze at the furry orange bundle at the top of the stairs who looked entirely too pleased with himself.

"You're in so much trouble, Mister."

Hercules decided to spend the day hiding in the office while 'Dite looked for vets on the island.

Decadent Delights is open.

(OOC: Post open, SP is love.)

The moment Faith entered the store, she knew something was wrong. For once, it seemed as if the interior of the place had gathered an impressive amount of spider webs, and the corners looked a bit too dark for the time of the day. And why did it look like there was dust everywhere? At least the stands were all intact and the articles seemed to be in perfect state, if not in dire need of being cleaned.

"Couldn't get me a better job, really."

She could kill vampires. She could kill demons. Damn, she could kill a lot of things in between, but dealing with untidiness? Faith felt like waging a losing war here.

Things Reborn is open, although it certainly looks abandoned on the inside.

When Ellie wasn't answering phones or taking care of other hotel business, she was studying for a physiology quiz. Gunther grumbled something about her slacking at work. She ignored him. Otherwise, she might have literally thrown her textbook at him for being annoying.

Lindsay set up a new display featuring football jerseys of all the teams that made it to the playoffs. All football jerseys were on sale until after the Super Bowl. She wondered how much profit the store could make if every one of them were sold. She actually did the math in her head because she could. Also because she was bored.

Today was a day for posting late because non-fake work ate her music. Cally had purchased a small pair of speakers to connect to her datapad, and now she was dusting off shelves and adding new price labels to the beat of Auron's Top 40. Think techno-jazz-funk with a hint of computer generation, boosted a thousand years into the future as someone from 1979 might imagine it.

Now if only there weren't a Saint Bernard flopped in the aisle beside the register, trying to sing along.

Strokes of Genius was open and... enthusiastic, if not in tune.

Rikku was in a very scattered sort of mood as she opened the shop. The good: she had a new employee (yay!) and her class seemed to be going well. The bad: well, the letter from Yuna, and what that meant. The she-didn't-know-yet: the fact that she wasn't holding it all in as well as she used to. That could be good or bad. It almost felt like both.

Anyway. It was a good day for taking something apart and seeing if she could put back together. Grease helped her think.

Wallace was nowhere to be seen and Tino was in a bad mood for no apparent reason. Enjoy your evening, folks.

"Oooo. Potstickers. And some of those good cheese won tons, and some shrimp..."

You'd think Dinah hadn't eaten anything at Gotham U in four months.
