Wonderfully invigorated from the winter hike she'd taken yesterday, Jane was in a marvelous mood when she came into the shop today. She didn't even mind so much that, if it weren't for this job that had been so unexpectedly sprung upon her, she could have turned the hike into a whole weekend camping ordeal, but she wouldn't neglect her responsibilities like that. Besides, it wasn't so bad, coming in and making sure the turtle and the canary were all set and taken care of, and the panda to an extent, too, although he seemed much more aloof than the other critters. And then, of course, there was telling Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon about the hiking trip, which, somehow, managed to get Jane on the topic of monkeys.

"Do you suppose," she proposed to him with a thoughtful tilt of her head, "Mr. Kyōraku would be terribly opposed to adding a little monkey to the menagerie? I mean, I know the pet store claims to have everything but the monkey, and I do agree that some animals are probably best left undomesticated, but if we got ourselves just a little chimpanzee, who could help around the store, why, I think that would be absolutely fascinating, don't you, Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon? I suppose I should just go and ask him, but the man does seem to veer quite off the topic of business when spoken to, doesn't he?"

It continued quite like that, interrupted only by the occasional customers, and Apu had to remind himself that at least Jane seemed intelligent when she continued talking and talking...and talking some more.

In John's opinion, the temperature drop was just another incentive for people to stop in while he was working the lame Saturday shift at the gym. A little cardio, a little weight lifting, it was a recipe for successful sweating - especially considering how he'd cranked the thermostat and queued up some decent tunes.

Old school hair bands went great with a workout. Like bacon and eggs.

There was rather less to be done today in preparation for the auditions, truly, which would be why after making certain that everything was set up exactly the way he wanted, Genesis had flung himself down in a seat and was texting Angeal.

It gave him something to do while he waited to see who might show up. And it was always amusing to needle his old friend with taunts of a secret that he wasn't inclined to share just yet.

Cast and crew needed! Free food and drink available!

He'd put the phone away when people began arriving, of course, but until then...

Well, why not?

Leo was spending his shift working on stuff for the Argo II today since the planning and building of that ship was almost always on the forefront of his mind. He had a huge piece of paper out on one of the workbenches and was trying to recreate the plans from memory. He'd have to ask Jason or Nyssa or someone to try to send him a copy because he was sure he was missing stuff. Oh well.

It had been a long week, and 'Dite was starting to recover a little from the shock of Raven's death. She still wasn't willing to open the store on Tuesdays, but at least she wasn't getting upset at the least little thing anymore.

Raven's paycheck had been set aside to be given to Karla on Monday. With no one to send it to 'Dite was going to suggest that it be donated to a charity that Raven would have supported. She felt that would be a good way to handle this last detail, and one Raven would have appreciated.

All in all, she was in a better mood than she had been all of the past week. Unfortunately, Hercules did not share her mood. He was currently staring sullenly at her while wearing a plastic cone around his head. At least his short stay at the vet yesterday was not one he had to repeat.

'Dite caught the glare he was giving her. "Well, you didn't seem to want me to take care of it, so . . ." She shrugged. "Face it, there will be no tiny kitties running around calling you papa or whatever." She turned her attention back to the magazine in front of her. "I hope."

'Dite's Decadent Delights is open.

When Jaina got to the bar tonight, she found Tino already at work, decked out in a parka, scarf and hat. Apparently someone was having none of the cold today.

And then she stepped behind the bar and saw that none of this meant he was wearing pants. There were, however, boots. "No, Tino why," she said, once again figuring she had to just avert her eyes for the whole shift. She was getting really good at that.

Bod liked graveyards at night. He'd gathered by now that graveyards at night were, generally speaking, thought of as scary but he didn't find them that way. During the day, he knew the ghosts were busy living their lives but, at night, everything was a little more calm. Children were inside, getting ready for bed while their parents tended to them. Adults, young and old, were settling down, catching up on their day and preparing for another one to follow.

Just because they were dead didn't mean they stopped living and Bod knew that for a fact. He'd experienced that and missed it. After talking with Ino yesterday, he found himself missing it a little more. At least there, he'd had a beginning and an end. It was simple, easier, even if he'd been in harms way the entire time.

As he walked through the graveyard, hands tucked deep into his pockets, he quietly read the Latin off the gravestones and greeted each person by name. He hoped they were well. And then he'd move on, doing the same for each person that was buried there. Maybe it'd been awhile since someone spoke to them.

[Open place in town so open post if anyone's haunting the graveyard]
