Turtle & Canary; Saturday [ 01/22 ].
Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 09:17 amWonderfully invigorated from the winter hike she'd taken yesterday, Jane was in a marvelous mood when she came into the shop today. She didn't even mind so much that, if it weren't for this job that had been so unexpectedly sprung upon her, she could have turned the hike into a whole weekend camping ordeal, but she wouldn't neglect her responsibilities like that. Besides, it wasn't so bad, coming in and making sure the turtle and the canary were all set and taken care of, and the panda to an extent, too, although he seemed much more aloof than the other critters. And then, of course, there was telling Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon about the hiking trip, which, somehow, managed to get Jane on the topic of monkeys.
"Do you suppose," she proposed to him with a thoughtful tilt of her head, "Mr. Kyōraku would be terribly opposed to adding a little monkey to the menagerie? I mean, I know the pet store claims to have everything but the monkey, and I do agree that some animals are probably best left undomesticated, but if we got ourselves just a little chimpanzee, who could help around the store, why, I think that would be absolutely fascinating, don't you, Mr. Nahasapeemapetilon? I suppose I should just go and ask him, but the man does seem to veer quite off the topic of business when spoken to, doesn't he?"
It continued quite like that, interrupted only by the occasional customers, and Apu had to remind himself that at least Jane seemed intelligent when she continued talking and talking...and talking some more.
Today's Squishy flavours: Banana, Pomegranate, Red
