Gigi was still on roller skates (to fit the mood of Pleasantville) and, as it turned out, hospitality droids just weren't designed to do something like skate. As she stumbled around the restaurant while bringing dishes out, clearing tables, and such, Zayne had to keep careful watch and catch her a few times with the Force. He was starting to suspect that Gryph didn't really make the investment Zayne assumed he had with the droid. He probably got a good deal on a "quirky" model.

At least it kept him busy during the quieter business hours.

William was in a rather cheerful mood as he opened up the shop today. Even the strawberries that appeared every time he turned his back only got a slight eyeroll and look of exasperation when they appeared.

Settling behind the counter, he pulled out some blueprints and set to work on refining his latest project.

A few hours into the day, the panda came storming into the store, knocked some things off a shelf, punched Apu in the head, and went to sulk in the dairy aisle. Hank, of course, went to comfort the poor bear -- which was eventually able to communicate, via a complex set of hand signs, what had happened.

It seemed the panda had gone to the mainland, in order to spread the happiness and joy that could only come from buying the right brand of cheese, and the shopkeeper in the corner store had kicked it out for being "too colorful".

Hank didn't really have much of a response for that, except to stare. "But... you're a PANDA!"

Second-to-last shift. It was Kate's second-to-last shift at the movie theater barely anyone visited but which she'd grown pretty fond of over her months of being employed. She was still yet to really register that she'd be leaving soon, but still, she couldn't help already looking around a bit like she was memorizing what the view from behind the concessions stand was like.

Sometimes she was stupidly sentimental, and today it was easy to be that way. Yesterday had been good, and she'd come to work straight from her and Bod's little lakeside hideout this morning.

It meant she was wearing yesterday's clothes, but at least she was happy.

MST3000 was open, for the second-to-last time with this particular girl selling over-priced popcorn and candy.

Miss Emma Grace Frost was Not Best Pleased.

The edible whipped cream canisters had broken, and it was EVERYWHERE. And every time she got the area cleaned up, another one exploded, quickly followed by a rain of the Sexy Sprinkles as they fell off the shelves.

Emma eventually gave up, and resigned herself to eating sprinkles out of a can. Maybe she'd go to T&C on her break to get some cherries.

Alexander was married off, a kingdom was saved, and Quinn was -- miraculously -- back at work.

She even almost made it to her desk on time.

Post Office, Wednesday

When the mailman from the mainland stopped in to drop off some letters, he just stared at all the colors in the post office. Most of the postal workers got nervous under his gaze and scurried into the back, which Rude made a mental note of. Whatever they were under their disguises, he was pretty sure they weren't human -- at least, not if some of the things in the break room fridge were supposed to be "food". Maybe they were worried they'd be found out.

The mailman wasn't interested in them, though. His gaze locked on the colorful display of collectible stamps, and he stood in front of it, transfixed, for what seemed like ages.

Rude watched him silently from behind the counter. Eventually, he raised an eyebrow a fraction of a millimeter and asked, "You... gonna buy some?"

Wednesday evening, there was a sign on the door of the room which usually contained the Civics class.

CANCELLED
due to emergency elsewhere
My humble apologies for the lack of notice.
Thank you all for being a lovely class.

Alex hated running out on a responsibility. But she had received a phone call from Anakin about the losses they had suffered in Panem, and couldn't justify staying here any longer.

(Sorry for the lack of class, and for the last-minute nature therein. Call from Anakin modded by permission.)

Lion-o was a little late getting to Luke's after class, so he couldn't blame the kitchen staff for picking out the specials without his help. But he was a little perturbed by the things they decided on. "Why in the world would you fry pickles?" he asked.

There were things coming up that Nathan didn't want to think about. He still liked to deny that he had feelings because that meant he was still the blackhearted sonofabitch he'd been when he'd shown up to the island. He couldn't let people know he'd grown a heart and maybe had a squishy underside.

Tino was out near the stage, sweeping and not bothering anyone which made him a prime fucking target for Nathan's bottle caps. He'd made it into a game: ten points if he hit him in the head, five for the shoulder and a shot if he missed Tino entirely.

It was safe to say Nathan was gonna be pretty fucking drunk by the end of the night.

Jaina still didn't know exactly what her plan was for being here yet, but she felt more herself than she did yesterday and it was easy to sink into routine when she was here. She thought this meant that coming back, even for a few days, was a good idea. So with some free time and a refusal to spend any more time cooped up by herself than she had to, she headed to the Perk for a while.

Her datapad in front of her, she was trying to figure out how to respond back to Zekk, or whether she should at all. She'd sent a message this morning just saying that she was all right, without saying where she was for plausible deniability reasons. In her mind, actually getting in touch with someone after taking off meant that she'd maybe grown as a person since the last time she did it. A year ago.

The lack of color around here was weird. Really, really weird. But as places went, it could be worse. The weather was decent, the people seemed all very wholesome and extremely concerned about kitten welfare. There wasn't any bad in that, that he could see.

Chuck just had the one final left, so yeah, he was celebrating the survival of another semester and an upcoming visit back to Encino to see Ellie a little prematurely... But what were the chances something could go wrong between now and tomorrow afternoon?

... Actually? Don't answer that. He was going to pretend it was nil.

His Mooby Meal wasn't exactly the height of gourmet, but Chuck didn't really have the cash or the taste for posh food, and a bench on the boardwalk wasn't the place for it either. That didn't stop him from being quite happy to sit there and eat and watch people. The simple things worked for him.

[[It's a public boardwalk, so open ofc!]]

Jessica was feeling a little broody that evening as she manned the door. She knew the recent graduates would be leaving the island soon, and that included Sookie. Her Sookie back home was still missing, and she couldn't help but worry that something similar would happen to tiny!Sookie. Of course, things were completely different between their two worlds. Her Sookie was older and didn't get all tangled up with vampires as early in life as tiny!Sookie had, so maybe that'd make all the difference. Still, she wondered if she should tell Sookie about Sookie being missing. Just in case.
