The Gig, Sunday

Tamara and her puppy had spent most of yesterday exploring the woods, but today... today they knew they had a very important job to get to! They had to make sure the horses were fed and brushed and exercised and everything.

When they arrived at the stables, though, they found another little girl asleep in the hay bales. Tamara put her finger to her lips and made a shhhh noise as she greeted the horses. Maybe when the other girl woke up she'd want to play or help with the horses, but right now it would be rude to do anything but just let her sleep.

Joan was still not entirely sure why the island seemed run over with children, and where, exactly, the adults had gone. She'd attempted to call Eric to ask him about the child who looked like him (and suspiciously bore his name but spoke...no English, huh) and had only gotten his voicemail.

So. Tempting though it was to hide away in her apartment, she'd ventured out for coffee this morning. And a muffin. And a cigarette. So she was sitting outside the Perk smoking and keeping an eye out for errant children. It wasn't the first time she'd had to watch someone else's kids while they were off being irresponsible.

Because clearly, that was the best explanation for this. Obviously.

[post open, mild SP for a couple hours, but it's Joan's first event so I had to. :)]

Jonothon had managed to get his hands on coffee, this morning. Instant coffee, granted, that he'd thrown together while trying to juggle breakfast (cereal, quick and easy) and getting everything in order for ... whatever the hell these auditions were going to be like, considering the state of the weekend. He hadn't actually gotten around to getting any of it as far as his mouth, yet, but he suspected that he'd made the coffee strong enough to sit up and bark, and if that didn't floor him, it would probably be a good thing.

In the window of the Boards, he'd hung a sign:

AUDITIONS
FANDOM ISLAND WINTER SHOWCASE
Give the rest of the island a taste of your winter traditions from home!

And, hell, he'd even managed to get someone at Pizza Planet to answer the phone who was over the age of ten, so there was pizza set out on tables on one side of the lobby area. Tables which he'd laid tarp down under, because there was no way in hell he was going to clean those carpets already. The place had just finished renovations, after all.

[OCD is up! If you've got a small child for the day and you'd like to audition, anyone and everyone is welcome to, but please let us know in the OOC thread if you actually want a role or not!]

Anyone coming out to this side of the island today would find a tiny, blank-flanked pink pony with stick straight hair gloomily pushing rocks around with her head.

It was a thankless job, but someone had to do it. . . .

[ooc: I'll be afk for most of the afternoon, but I had to get her out somewhere. Open, if anyone wants to interact with teenie Pinkie on a SP basis.]

Susan had been mentally preparing herself for this job for nearly a week now. She'd taken it because honestly, the thought of working with and meeting other supernatural types had been sort of irresistible. In fact, she was not only clinging to the idea of there being someone else maybe like her out there, but she was calling the idea at all hours of the night and driving past its house to see it was home, even after the restraining order was issued.

And then on her first day, instead Susan had had to mentally reprepare herself, this time for the possibility of children. Luckily she rather liked children, even if it wasn't exactly what she might have thought for her first day of work. She knew as soon as she came in that she would be dividing her attention between the door, and making sure no one made a total mess of the bar, Bo.

The Devil's Nest was open, and sorry, adults, you'd still be getting juice and milkshakes tonight.

There was a pale blond boy, small and skinny for his age, running around the park on Sunday afternoon. This was great! Steve almost never got to go to the park! His mother was always working, or he was sick, and since his dad had died...well. Things weren't great.

But the playground at this park was like nothing he'd ever seen before! Were those plastics? How keen!

The fact that he had to stop and cough into his sleeve, oh, every two minutes or so did not deter him in the least. He was Errol Flynn! "Take that! And that!" he declared, swishing a stick as a sword. If only Arnie was here to play with him!

((Open park is open!))
