Billy had tried meditating today to try to 'keep calm and carry on', but that had not worked. The feeling of helplessness had demanded he at least do something active, so instead, he was doing katas by the pond. He'd started with the most basic, and as he finished each one, he started a more complicated one. It was helping.

Jono was... more than a touch subdued this evening as he opened the doors to let the performers in for rehearsal. And could anybody really blame him if he was counting heads as people came in, not because he was worried about attendance, but more because he was concerned about people's ability to attend?

The pitchers of water were set out again, because that was... some sort of thing, he supposed, what with all the singers and such. There was hot water as well today, with a few assorted teabags- green, ginger, peppermint. And honey, should anyone want to sweeten it some.

"Today," he said to the group at large, looking and sounding about as tired as he felt, "we're going to try to finalize what it is you each want to perform for the showcase. It's difficult to rehearse if you don't have material to rehearse. If you're still struggling for something to do, talk to one of us and we'll do what we can to help. We might not understand the finer points of holidays such as Lurlinemas or Winsol, but artistic and technical advice, we can do."

A beat.

"And if there's anything else you need that you'd rather not discuss in front of the group, feel free to take us aside or speak to us after rehearsal. I have a feeling we both understand."

You don't want to know just how long Audrey had been trying to map out the disappearances from the board. In fact, this was the first time she'd really ever felt out of her depth at work. You try figuring out how to map something when you couldn't work with concrete places or coordinates, just things like "2179 AD, Earth" or "a galaxy far, far away" and see if you feel good at your job. And how did you show that an entire place was gone? Spreadsheets would probably be less messy.

When she returned to her desk from the mess that was the map on the wall, she found a message on her phone. So she dialed up her voicemail, and listened.

And while it was pretty clear to her what was going on in that message, and that the person leaving it just wasn't there anymore, there might have been a "...The hell?" said while listening. Maybe more than once.

[I couldn't not. Totes open.]

Days after visiting her grandfather, Susan was still mad. How dare he say he couldn't interfere! She was proof that he'd interfered plenty in the past. Why was this any different? And since then more people had gone, and it didn't look as if things would suddenly get better because things rarely did. And she did not like having no clue as to what to do about it. She didn't know if she had any skills that would help that she hadn't discovered yet, and it wasn't as if she could ask anyone about it, and this was all so very stupid.

Hmph.

The Devil's Nest was open, and the girl at the door was just as completely friendly as always, really!

In a stunning display of his own ability to avoid Fandom insanity without even knowing it, Mitchell hadn't been around for the past week. Sure, Nina and George's behavior had become increasingly more erratic, and he was worried - worried enough to stick around for longer than intended.

Still, he was getting back to work. He helped the staff set up the sign in the morning--

-- and went inside, poking and prodding through his files so he could come up with a few non-box-officey features for next week.
