Cara knew that most people on this island did not get the idea of proper baths, she was willing to concede a certain impracticality to constructing them, and even agreed that showers had their uses.

What she could not, and would not ever comprehend, was why, when you had the kind of access to constant, clean, hot water that they did here, would anyone in anything vaguely resembling their right mind, willingly choose to use those...things at the campground. So, yeah, Cara was just going to soak away here for as long as possible and hope reason prevailed soon.

Dani was eager to get on horseback today. She was walking with a slight limp thanks to one of the angry calves nipping her leg when she wasn't paying attention. She was going to let Duke do the walking for her for the rest of the day.

The Gig was open.

The first thing Topher noticed upon arriving at the store today was that there were approximately fifty open umbrellas stationed around the store, covering just about every square inch of the place.

The second thing he noticed -- and it took him a minute on account of the umbrellas everywhere -- was that it was raining chocolate milk.

He sighed, took a seat behind the desk and grabbed a piece of paper. Then he started to draw a map to figure out the exact most efficient way to fix the sprinklers, removing the fewest possible umbrellas in the process. It was like math come to life!

...Or something.

Jono had coffee, today.

Jono had a lot of coffee today. After yesterday's radio broadcast, he'd been called back to New York for a training exercise with the New Warriors that had stretched long into the evening, and had ended somewhere around the point where he'd nearly shattered the eardrums of his teammates with an ill-aimed scream.

The rest of the night had been spent being lectured by Jubilee, and he'd just tripped into the Boards now, after a stop by the Perk, taking enough time out front to set out the sign before flopping into a seat and waiting for people to arrive to audition.

Valentine really didn't have much to do today, which was why she was mostly spending it at the shop, reading Twenty-Five Hues of Puce behind the counter.

And trying not to laugh.

Flipping a page idly, tilting her head in what looked like thought, she was doing her best to remind herself that stopping by the Boards when she was finished and taking the sign for auditions up by doing a dramatic reading was a terrible idea.

Today's Squishy flavors: Purple Prose, Bad Fanfic, Red

Turtle & Canary is open!

Much like someone else who was at work in Fandom today, April had gotten her hands on that new "erotic bestseller" everyone was talking about.

However, April was not using it for its intended purpose. Or even reading it with her pants on. No, instead she was tearing out pages one by one and tossing them like basketballs into a series of differently-sized glasses on the bar.

This was beer pong at its best, people.

Like several others in town today, Bo had a book on the counter as she worked.

Unlike most of them, the title had nothing to do with gradations of hue, unless you judged Pixies, Peris and Phoukas by the color of their wings and/or hooves, which Bo did not, though she did kind of wonder if maybe there was some of the last one in her ancestry somewhere and that would explain how the island was nice enough to let her keep her boots when she turned into a pony.

Tiny, on the other huge, vise-like hand? Allllll about the hues.

Which would have been fine with Bo -- fine but OH so JUDGING YOU, TINY -- if he hadn't been flipping through and reading it out loud.

"I hate you, and that's not even physically possible unless he had three arms and a prehensile tail!"

And no, she did not deserve it for last week. No one deserved this. Especially not page eighty-three.

"And it wouldn't be sexy even if he did!"

Tiny chortling sounded like an earthquake in rockslide country.

Fact: Natasha needed dinner. Other fact: Natasha couldn't cook. Well, she could microwave things and make eggs. That was about it. Cooking was simply not part of the standard assassin skill set, and she'd never been anything else, so there had never been opportunity for her to learn. And the SHIELD cafeteria was open twenty-four hours a day.

But now? Takeout. Lots of takeout, and thank goodness that for such a tiny island this place had a decent selection of restaurants. Today she felt like Thai, so she headed over there and placed an order for dinner--plus enough to reheat for lunch and dinner tomorrow. Mmm. Noodles.

((Open restaurant is open!))
