Like she did most mornings, Korra had taken Naga out for a stroll, lapping the island a few times to work off some of the polar bear dog's excess energy, before ending up at the cove.

While Naga chased gulls along the length of the shore, Korra stood at the tideline, watching the waves lapping up along the beach As the water ebbed and flowed, she could all but hear Katara's voice. Push and pull, Korra, that's the essence of waterbending.

Without really thinking about it, she moved her hands in a waterbending form so basic she couldn't even remember if her parents had taught it to her, or she'd just known it like with her early earthbending and firebending.

Nothing. Not even a splash.

Shoulders slumping, she sank down onto the sand.

[Open beach is open.]

Cade had gotten his first paycheck, which was--

--all right, it was the most money he'd ever gotten legitimately, which was why he wasn't currently robbing Tony blind (or blind-ish, since he hadn't figured out about JARVIS).

Instead he behind the desk, trying to juggle four very expensive pieces of electronics. Cade wasn't exactly the poster child for responsible...well, anything.

Stark Industries was open if you wanted to trust Cade with your bits of technology.

Jack winced at the stack of mail to the club he needed to sort through when he came into the office today. He didn't normally mind the paperwork -- it was usually interesting, and even when it wasn't, it was what he was getting paid to do. But he had reading for a Tuesday class, and he'd hoped to have a quiet day to plow through at least some of it.

The fact Tiny started pumping speed metal through the sound system as soon as he came into the bar did not help Jack's concentration. Jack wished, not for the first time, that he'd invested in earplugs for the office.

Now, Priestly couldn't guarantee anything, but he was pretty sure that when he'd headed up to the loft to sleep last night, the restaurant wasn't full of acorn squash.

"Very funny, guys," he said when he discovered them all. "Let's all acorn squash the new guy."

When no one answered, he looked back at the kitchen and remembered that the kitchen staff didn't show up for another hour.

Right then.

Today's specials

Baked kale chips

Jake wasn't quite willing to admit it, but he was feeling more than a little homesick today. Hence the drink of choice being rum, tonight. And the band was playing a selection of Great Big Sea songs in between karaoke requests. That the lead singer (...of Great Big Sea, not the zombie band) happened to bear a striking resemblance to a certain undercover agent of his acquaintance hadn't really occured to him until now. Huh. Weird.

Olive had a puppy, now, and so did Sia. And the thing was, puppies required constant attention -- Olive had lost a pair of really cute ballet flats already, though thankfully Karolina's stuff seemed to have been ignored, thus far. But even more than supervision, puppies needed walks. And friends. And friends they could walk with.

So obviously the natural thing to do in this instance was to make sure their puppies were friends by taking them on walks together. Olive thought this was a pretty genius idea, honestly. So she'd sent Sia a text and taken Ally out to the park to wait.

And now, of course, she was occupied with keeping Ally from eating everything she found. "No, dude, that's a bug. We don't eat those. You won't touch your food, but that weird like, rhinoceros beetle looks awesome, huh?"

Dogs were weird.

[olive is waiting for marsie omg but open park is open!]

It'd been awhile since Percy and Mrs. O'Leary had been down to the beach. Percy made sure to apologize for that when he went to get his gigantic hellhound but Mrs. O'Leary seemed to instantly forgive him when they got to the beach. She started bounding around in the sand, chasing the huge bone that Percy was throwing until she got distracted and ran into the water.

She eventually started digging a hole to bury the bone (or him, Percy thought) so Percy sat on some sand nearby and let her enjoy the activity while he enjoyed the beach. The setting sun was really beautiful.

[Beach is open! Regular humans will see Mrs. O'Leary as a poodle. Those who aren't regular? Hellhound the size of a tank!]
