"The radio made it sound like the weekend was really confusing," Alluka confided to her bunny as they set up for the day of work.

They needed cookies, tea, a blanket for snuggling into if they got tired of trying on clothes (which wasn't likely to happen, but it could, and so she was prepared for it) and if anything weird had happened to her over the weekend, Alluka hadn't noticed.

Neither had her friends.

"I'm glad we weren't confused," Alluka said, waiting for the water for her tea to heat. She paused and then tilted her head at her bunny. "Do you think we still would've liked tea parties if we'd been confused?"

The bunny rather thought so.

"That's good, isn't it?" Alluka said, relieved. "It wouldn't have been too bad, then, if we would have still had that. Still, I think I'm glad it didn't happen." It didn't take too much to confuse her, not really. "What kind of clothes should we try on today?"

For once, Kenzi was at Caritas pretty early. Because after this particularly weird and disturbing weekend, she needed to pre-game a little herself.

So apparently the kitchen staff's alternate selves had had . . . some kind of drama, over the weekend, and now none of them were talking to each other. So when Eliot got to the diner after doing a circuit on the island looking for his partners -- he hadn't managed to keep track of either of them all weekend, so, you know, that was just great -- they hadn't gotten anything put together for the day's menu.

"Big greasy breakfast," Eliot suggested.

The staff blinked at him.

"You know, comfort foods?"

They stared more. Eliot growled.

"Get to work."

Shiemi was at a counter in the flowershop, willing to help anyone who came in. Please ignore the mess of dried flowers and stems and bulbs and... things... and the boiling water she was adding to the mix. She was a professional and she knew what she was doing and it was safe.

She stopped muddling the ingredients a moment to turn back a few pages of the book on the counter in front of her and then used some smelly black grounds to create a small magical diagram around the mixing bowl.

Okay, yes. Totally safe.

Apparently the stockroom had a mind of its own today -- well, more so than one might expect on a more-or-less usual day from a stockroom in a business located on Fandom Island.

Which was to say that when Éponine went in bent on the simple task of retrieving several fresh packs of printed forms, the shelves and all the stockroom's contents rearranged themselves around her into a sort of complex, constantly-changing maze.

One that she would be spending the rest of the entire day trying to escape.
