Happy Wednesday, right? Fjord was in a pretty decent mood as he walked into the forge today, and started casting around for work to do while he waited on Amaya to set him loose on some manner of project for the day.

The winner was daggers to be sharpened. For an island where he'd seen relatively few people actually wielding daggers (and what would they use them against anyhow?), there always seemed to be a startling number of blunt knives waiting for the stone in this place.

He was choosing to blame the island for that one. But hell, at least that meant he was basically a professional when it came to sharpening things by now.

Learning. Wasn't it great?

"Ohthankgod."

Sparkle came in to Pick Your Poison today to find that the order he'd placed for new product last week had already arrived this week. Which was good, because he was starting to wonder if it was even worth his while showing up here, at this point. The shelves had been all but completely bare. If he wasn't so damn fastidious about keeping things clean (and so bored that there was nothing better to do than dust anyway), there would have been tumbleweeds rolling on through.

So, that was going to be his Wednesday. Tearing open boxes and putting things on shelves and every now and again setting something in a pile by the counter, because he wanted to try this or that for himself, too.

It was good to be busy again. No less worried about where the hell his boss had gotten off to, nah, but busy.

If there was anything strange going on with the taps, or anything breadstick related, or dealing with fried food or pasta or any of that in the bar today, Sweet Dee didn't know about it yet. Since she'd gotten in, she'd been fully engrossed by what was happening on the stage. Emphasis on the grossed. Because the band seemed to be having some trouble today keeping themselves...together.

Limbs, just...falling right off. All over the place. It was absolutely disgusting. And complete, totally enthralling, too. So Sweet Dee and Tino were spending most of their shifts leaning on the bar, watching in fascination, and making bets on what might happen next.

Tino put twenty bucks on the one losing his arms as he went to attach another's arm, but Dee shook her head. "No," she said. "No way. As soon as they get that arm back into place, that guy's other arm's going to pop right off."

Two minutes later, Sweet Dee was cackling in triumph, holding out a hand. "Yeah, that's right, pay up, dickweed."

Should everyone be worried that the two of them were getting along?

...yeah, probably.

It was paperwork day at Luke's. Again.

This was Eliot's absolutely least favorite part of running a business. Sometimes he missed living entirely off the grid and just committing violence on people for cash.

On the other hand, it was way harder to take a break and make a souffle when he was living entirely off the grid and just committing violence on people for cash.

So there was that.

Today's specials
Zesty crab souffle
Spinach pantry souffle
Hot chocolate souffle

Luke's was open.

The flowers were being mostly quiet today, just waving in the breeze (even though there wasn't one) and occasionally humming.

The phone, however, was plenty busy. Between orders for Valentines' Day, orders for Presidents' Day (that was even a thing?), and orders for Martin Luther King Day, it was pretty busy.

Oh, well; it gave him things to focus on.

The flower shop was open!

Jack was exploring. She'd sauntered around the town itself to familiarize herself with the shops and services and parks but there was only so much of the adorably European architecture that she could handle without turning into a walking vomit bomb. Heading to the fringes seemed to be a good plan. Get some space, look at the water, give her head a chance to clear. Time to think and some nice empty scenery in which to think.

The lighthouse was also an iconic testament standing on the shore. Pursing her lips, she regarded it and then shrugged. "Yeah, ok. I won't be able to see it from the top anyway."

Was access to the stairs locked? Did she care? They hadn't made the lock she couldn't crack. Sometimes even without damaging the door. Jack headed up the stairs to the lantern room. There was a catwalk outside but the wind at the shore level had been cold so she imagined it'd be plain nasty at this height. Staying inside seemed a better idea. The windowsills were made to be sat on anyway. Whether that was the purpose of the design held no interest for her. They were big enough to fit her butt and even let her turn sideways so she could rest her back against the side and bring a knee up to loop her arms over.

Jack glanced down at herself and imagined the picture she was presenting. 'Scary Bitch Gazes Out A Window In A Moment Of Reflective Contemplation'. The very idea of it made her snort an indelicate laugh.

Yeah, right. It was a nice view though. She really could get used to the view. The sky was calm and overcast but the water was choppy. Dark waves broken into whitecaps on the rocks. The splashing, rushing noise a muted metronome to break the silence. It suited her.

Jughead had definitely been at work over the last two months omg was hard at work today. Kind of. Mostly he was standing behind the counter and watching Apu put the finishing touches on a display of some of the hottest food items they were selling in the store, while sometimes jotting down things on a notepad he had on the counter because he was also working on an essay of sorts about -- well, a lot of things. Fandom, maybe?

Anyway.

He was also mostly ignoring the little award statuette - you know, one of those miniature fake Oscar type things - that said VALUED TEAMMATE on it, except TEAM had been crossed out in Sharpie with TEEN written on top of it instead. Apu had given it to Jughead when he'd come in to work today. He had not asked why.

He'd just put it down on the counter, next to the cash register. Whether he was taking it back to the dorms with him at the end of the day was anyone's guess.

Today's Squishy Flavors
Wasabi
Mango
Red

Once again, Liam was opting for a post-run breakfast that wasn't Mooby's. Not because there was another food-related crisis, this time, though. He was just really craving one of the fancy raspberry-and-chocolate croissants the bakery did so well.

Plus while they didn't have as many tea options as Hernando's place or even the Perk, what they did have was... well. It was fine, anyway, considering the tea wasn't the main reason he'd stopped here.

Liam had carbs, he had caffeine, and he was working his way through both as he scrolled through news stories on his Global.

[ooc: expecting one in particular to stop by, but also open!]
