Covent Garden Flowers; Tuesday [12/22].

While Astrid could certainly appreciate the sentiments and the rebellion that went into the fact that a lot of the flowers seemed to have transformed into more tropical and summery flowers for her shift that day, apparently, this did actually make her job that much more difficult.

"You guys realize that there are still Christmas orders we have to finish, right?"

The flowers didn't seem to care, and Astrid supposed she'd just have to try and make things work as best she could, hoping the people ordering these things were just as Christmased-out as the flowers seemed to have been. She had to admit, though, she rather liked how the wreaths of birds-of-paradise and hibiscus turned out.

Typically, when the island went a little crazy like it had in the last week, Tisarwat tried to stay out of it, so she supposed her weekend wouldn't have been that much different regardless, but the fact of the matter was that there was a big difference between choosing to hole up in your basement apartment while waiting for a crisis to blow over and being forced to hole up in your basement apartment the whole time because something (that something being a very large and immovable from the other side boulder of marzipan) had blocked your way out since pretty much Wednesday.

It was really putting into perspective for Tisarwat that, while being right there under the store was convenient in one way, there were some major drawbacks to her current living situation as well. Drawbacks with silver linings, sure, because as she sorted through inventory while catching up on all that happened through the radio broadcasts, she was quite fine with not having been involved in any of it, but she had still been trapped in a basement for several days...

She supposed, ultimately, though, that it was neither here nor there, and not something she'd hopefully have to worry about again for some time....

Caritas- Tuesday

Look how normal it was here today! No marzipan boulders or anything! Kitty debated taking down the Christmas decorations a little early to be safe, but ultimately decided that they were at least pretty, so she could keep them up at least through the next holiday she had to prepare for.

Which also meant that today Kitty was looking up New Year's themed drink recipes. She'd put up flyers for the party already, so the rest was easy. Maybe it was worth ordering hats and 2021 glasses? Whatever those looked like?

Wellspring Arms | Tuesday

So, Faye had (very purposely) missed most of the excitement last week, but that didn't mean she didn't do anything. She was pretty trigger-happy just as a general practice, and that only got worse when, you know, candy canes and whatnot were pursuing her.

So today found her behind the counter with her boots up on it as she painstakingly took her own gun apart to clean it, trying out some oil and a bore brush from the store, here.

Look, it was called a free sample, okay. How was she supposed to sell this stuff if she hadn't used it?

Sabine's warehouse- Tuesday evening

In their free time, Sabine and Astrid had been working on a commission. A commission that was actually too big and too detailed to work on in their room if they still wanted to be able to do things like move around and sleep.

With it finally being done, and being Christmas week, it was all ready for pickup. Which, Sabine realized belatedly, meant Nina finally had access to the explosives-laden warehouse but that was probably fine.

The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night

Was Lucifer genuinely in a good mood or was he having another one of his bursts of bizarre, steamroller-like cheer that tended to cover up other things? Tiny, for one, certainly couldn't tell.

But at least he was back at the piano, and not brooding in a corner, wishing death on Fandom events. Not singing, but sometimes that was a blessing.

The vibe tonight was 'Fairytale of New York' meets Elton John, and the devil-themed Christmas decorations were definitely the product of just one, only slightly unsettlingly chipper, former Lord of Hell.

To say Jessica was hard at work was overstating everything. Nothing was going on as the holiday was fast approaching and so Jessica was just mostly surfing the web for news and half-listening to Trish complain.

"You haven't called in weeks by the way."

"Sorry. We were attacked by marzipan boulders and giant polar bears carrying off brand cola bottles," Jessica replied.

"... You know if you're going to lie you could at least make it believable."

And once that conversation started going downhill it ended up with Jessica promising to come home for the weekend and spend time with Trish.

Ugh.

Yeah, so last week had been a thing.

A thing that required a lot of phone-calls.

And when phone-calls failed, writing letters.

"How hard is it to grasp 'when I ask for maintenance, I don't mean launch an entire new satellite into the sky without telling me anything'?"

Nina shrugged helplessly.
