Turtle & Canary; Monday [02/08].
Monday, February 8th, 2021 04:23 amThere was nothing quite like an egregiously normal Monday to really throw things into perspective for Summer how wild the last few weeks had kind of been, leaving her with a stark reminder that she really did prefer that go-go-go madness of having away too many things she wanted to squeeze into too few days, but she supposed a day of normalcy was good, she could just go about her usual business at the store while contemplating whether, in the rush of everything, making a deal with her mother to finally introduce them to Barry in exchange for skipping out on therapy last weekend was a big, big mistake.
She had time to figure out a way to get out of it, anyway, since this weekend was Valentine's Day, and yeah, no (though she did need to figure out if she was more on board with the idea that it was their first Valentine's Day, so clearly they needed to go all out, or if they should just be completely over it because it was just a highly commercialized Hallmark holiday meant to turn emotions into an oppressively capitalist venture; ugh! It was just so hard to choose!), and then spring break was coming up, too, and she supposed she could shove it in there before the trip, but then if...(ugh, when) things went spectacularly bad, that could put a damper on the trip.
Or, if/when things went spectacularly bad, a spring break trip would be a great way to try to forget about everything, too.
UGH. And this is why she liked shoving so many things into her week that she could barely stop to think about things, even when one of those things was designed to think about things. Because thinking about things without the aid of sangria and a friend suuuuucked.
Whatever, Summer, just focus on trying to wrangle in these orders so the store didn't wind up looking pinker than both her and Shunsui's wardrobe combined by the end of this week...
Because you knew that was so going to happen.
