With the chicken armor order finished by last weekend, Amaya had had a pretty quiet week at the forge, mostly spending it brushing up on a lot of unfinished projects and making sure everything on the weapons wall was still nice and shiny and sharp.

And today she figured she'd get started on getting the Crumbler all set and ready for the warmer months, which meant detatching all of the snow-and-ice related contraptions that had been added to it, and sharpening up those blades and saws and checking for any sort of rust or salt damage, switching out the fire materia with some ice ones, probably, though she just knew, as soon as she did, there'd be a need for them right around the corner, because wasn't that just how it always worked?

Either way, she never really minded a quiet day like this when it meant getting to work on Missus Crumbler.

Not that it was really technically quiet with all the banging and clattering it would cause, but, well...you know what she meant.

The Forge is open!

It wasn’t that Liam had come to work in a bad mood these past few weeks, but even the Troopers had been observant enough to pick up on the fact that something had been bothering him (aside from mysteriously disappearing miscellaneous items).

Not today, though. Today Liam seemed far less preoccupied than he had been the last few weeks.

[ooc: it’s gonna be a slow work day. so open.]

Rey had been feeling kind of off this morning, so she'd decided to run the course with Barry's drones to work some of it out. And because she didn't do as well when she felt off, and because she got frustrated when she didn't do well, that only led to her making more small mistakes.

One of those mistakes was dropping the remote for the drones. Which would have been fine; the drones chased after you as long as you were holding the remote. Except then a woodchuck picked it up.

So Rey had spent a good portion of her time in the warehouse chasing after a woodchuck that was being chased by drones, and apparently the real training was keeping the woodchuck from getting hit with any tennis balls. The good thing was that she'd completely succeeded there, and finally got the remote back from a very angry woodchuck, but maybe today was more of a meditation day?

When the alarms went off, signaling an actual reported fire in town, Travis almost didn't know what to do.

"Oh thank god," he muttered, as he rushed away from the reception desk to get into his turnouts and get the tiny little fire engine on the road. "Not that I'm actually hoping for wanton fiery destruction or anything but -- I'm literally not talking to anyone. I need a life."

The little engine that could careened down Galactica Drive, siren blaring, scattering NPC townspeople and rickshaws as it pulled a hard right onto Serenity Place, pulling to a stop at the last warehouse on the corner by Phoenix Way. A thin trail of gray smoke curled into the sky from the building as Travis hopped off the rig and started unspooling his hose. He looked around for someone to ask for an update on the situation--someone had to have called the thing in, right?--when a singed looking....lizard....thing.........came running out waving its clawed hands in the air and shouting something garbled at Travis.

Travis tried not to stare.

"Alright," he said, using his best 'everything's under control', talking to victims voice on the...creature. "Everything's going to be fine, sir. Ma'am? Citizen?"

The thing waved its hands and gnashed its teeth.

"Let's try this," Travis said. "Is there anyone else in the building? Gnash once for yes, twice for no."

The thing gnashed once. Travis nodded and grabbed his oxygen mask.

"Stay out here. I'll get your...fellow creatures out safe, okay?"

Another gnash. Travis took it for agreement, then surveyed the building again.

Well. If he just pretended the little green thing was a very short person, this was something he definitely knew how to do.

[OH SO VERY OPEN. The smoke is visible from the air, and the engine was not quiet roaring down the street, so anyone who wants to know this is going on is more than welcome to do so!]

Well, all of Tuesday's prep work had worked. A crowd of mainlanders had shown up at the start of the night, looking ready to party, and filtered right into the club.

It was nice to have a crowd. Especially one of perfect strangers. Let Lucifer slip back into his comfort zone for a change, hamming it up on the piano for the audience.

"...and did it-- my way..."

He'd be at the bar during the dance music breaks, soaking in the atmosphere. He'd clearly been focused too far inward recently to remember he liked life this way.
