The whole Parents' Weekend thing had sort of slipped Amaya's mind entirely, but now that she remembered that it was this weekend, that meant she should probably hold some office hours in case any parents actually wanted to come see her, which meant potentially losing an entire day of work.

And with so much work to do! It had been a very productive 3MD!

(If one considered 3MD merely a business and marketing opportunity and not even remotely having anything to do with actual dates, anyway).

She did consider just tossing up a sign on her office door with directions to the forge (after all, she only had the two students this time around!), and that way, she'd only have to deal with a few interruptions instead of sacrificing a whole day just to be shouted at through the walls by Kyōraku about sake, so really? That wasn't such a bad plan at all.

But for now? Amaya was doing a little experimenting and playing around with working her way around making sets of silverware. It was a good thing Dr. Lecter mentioned possibly getting some design ideas to her, since otherwise, left to her own devices, he was just going to wind up with a set covered in artistic but questionable spikes.

Turtle & Canary; Friday [09/24].

It didn't take long for Astrid to start to feel like maybe she should have just skipped her shift at T&C; it was going to be very difficult to get through a day of dealing with Apu and mindlessly checking out customers when she had a portal to catch later that she'd been anticipating for...months, now, really.

And it would figure, wouldn't it? Ingrid just had to have things her way. While everyone else's parents were coming to visit them this weekend, Astrid had to do just the opposite, and go visit her. Reverse Parents Weekend. But it seemed oddly fitting. And, really, Astrid would never want Ingrid to step foot on this island, anyway, even if she could.

This was better, and this was good, but it was making her anxious and difficult to focus, and the fact that the store was inexplicably filled with bluebirds flying around wasn't really helping that much.

Parents Weekend Meet & Greet, Friday Afternoon

It was a nice fall Friday afternoon, and the park was all ready for people to gather to meet their loved ones, as even the extremely glittery banner hanging over the entrance to the park evidenced:

Welcome to Parents' Weekend 2021!
There was a lot of glitter. Not just on the banner, but... generally everywhere. Sorry, the school administration had ordered a surplus of it, and it clearly all needed to go somewhere, and since it was all in very autumnal shades of orange and red and gold, well, this was just the occasion.

Welcome, family and friends and whoever else the townspeople and/or the school happened to invite! Try not to inhale too much glitter.

Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

The meeting with Flint had left Rey a little nervous, but this was a situation where she needed to tamp down those abandonment issues because she knew Silver could handle things.

Besides, she had training, and Poe wanted to see the place since he hadn't last time. BB-8 seemed pretty excited too, by the way he immediately rolled up the ramp to check it out.

Fandom Counseling, Friday

Today began Parents' Weekend. That didn't mean Hannibal wasn't going to open his practice. He was making bets with himself whether people with nobody coming or people with family members coming might need more therapy.

He wasn't bothering to bet with himself whether they'd show up and ask for it, but you never knew.

Joni was pouncing on dust motes in the office, Beethoven was lounging in a window in the sun, and the flamingo he refused to name was on the stoop preening itself and looking even more glittery than usual.

In between clients, Hannibal was planning a menu for a dinner party and wondering if he should do one for Halloween.

The Devil's Nest, Friday Night

The first part of the night involved dragging the piano back inside (not that hard, but oh lord, being outside had not been great for the wood) and putting it in its place. And removing the disco ball. The fluorescent lights had been a different challenge, but some rearranging had at least managed to form the word 'SEX', which made it tasteful decoration to hang above the remains of the axe range.

Who knew? Perhaps they could... well, all right, no, that would probably involve getting a new license and some under the table payments.

Either way, that work done, Lucifer was back at the bar. Considering his next steps. It wasn't as fun if Eric didn't put an equal level of effort in, damn it.

The Arms Hotel, Friday

For a special event weekend, it was relatively calm in the hotel lobby. There were no banners (a headache to get out of storage) and no extravagant fall decor. But hopefully guests were arriving hungry, because there were plenty of canapes. Gunther had outdid himself, apparently, and there were trays laden with canapes on every surface in the lobby.

One might observe that Mary, at her usual position behind the front desk, was sipping a glass of club soda and pointedly not toughing any of the food.
