Red's - Open for Business
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 07:58 amRed was up and busy in the shop at an early time. A client that could only make it in before going to work, Red opened his shop to accommodate the man.
Nipple piercings were the first order of business to his day and once he was finished, giving the client his care sheet, sent the satisfied customer on his way.
He picked up the phone to order Duce’s supplies, made a note on his computer to have Oz help him move some furniture in for Duce’s set up and settled in with the cubs as they frolicked across the storefront floor. He was already up and although an hour early before opening, Red went ahead, turned his sign around to read OPEN and opened his Skin and Ink magazine on the counter.

*Flips sign to open*

Kwik Stop: 24/7
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 09:47 amDante watches as the same crew who put in the security system at Championship Vinyl finishes the job at the Kwik Stop and high tails it out of town.
Dante sighs, goes into the store and comes out with a can of shoe polish.
He alters the the bed sheet so it now says:
always
I assure you we are ^ open!
Of course the manager wants Dante to be there now 24 hours a day despite the security system. Something about customer services.
Now if they can only come up with a security system that can stop those savages from putting gum in the locks.

Her Paranormal Studies teacher still AWOL, the only class Duce had was Combat Journalism. She dropped by the room long enough to ask two questions of Professor Spider, and then decided to head outside for more drawing time.
She pondered where to go. The Manor provided privacy, but being surrounded by carniverous plants, gremlins, and other random insanity wasn't exactly inspiring the kind of creativity she wanted.
Duce hiked her backpack higher onto one shoulder, and prowled the town until she found a coffee shop sporting a "WiFi Inside!" logo on the door. She pushed her way through the door, ambling up to the counter to order a soy chai, extra sugar.
She turned, scanning the crowd. Spotting no familiar faces just then, she headed to a table in the back and pulled out her laptop. When the laptop was open and booted, she began to work diligently on .. something.

New Employees
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 05:31 pmJordan is very pleased to have three employees to help her out with her work at the Coroner's Office. Angelus was going to be the grief counselor and Tru a Medical Examiner, and her newest employee Kate was going to be her secretary, which judging by the piles on her desk, she definitely needed. She also needed more help, and she missed Woody, but maybe she'd meet someone else to banter with here.
Outside in the park again
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 05:39 pmMaia sits on a park bench watching the fountain lights and the water. Her head was swimming with everything and suddenly she realized she didnt care. She didnt want to see anymore, she didnt want to know what was going to happen. Nothing mattered, people would do what they were going to do. Phoebe and Belthazor could kill each other for all she cared.
Maia drew her knees up under her chin and stared at the water. Her heart ached because deep down, she did care.

On the hill outside the town, evening.
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 06:10 pmThe shop had just closed, and Manny had watched
the4thsister walk down the street and disappear.
He picked up a small box of books, a small bottle of paraffin, and a box of matches. He walked down the road in the opposite direction, across the grassy lower slopes of Clonrichert Fell, and up into the higher, rockier ground overlooking the town.
In due course he attained the summit, where a wide flat stone stood in the centre of an ancient henge.
He arranged the books on the stone, a sorry little heap of late fourteenth century English poetry. He sprinkled the fuel. He dropped the match.
He watched it burn.
And, when the flames had done their work, when the winds had claimed the last of their ashes, he picked up the empty box, the bottle and the matches, and he returned to the shop, locking the door behind him.
When some things die, they call for sacrifice.
When some things die, they call for commemoration.
When some things die, they call for revenge.
Manny didn't know which it was, or whether it would suffice. Whether the work he'd done would prove complete. Time would tell.
As sleep approached, and he rehearsed the events of the evening, he couldn't work out whether he'd put twelve books in the box, or eleven. Whether he'd burnt eleven, or twelve.
It probably didn't matter.

Chaucer's, Wednesday, Early Evening
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 06:16 pmGeoff is lying on his back on a bench in front of his business, apparently talking to himself and occasionally writing something in a shabby journal. Once in a while, he looks up and down the street, as if he's hoping to see someone.
The Perkolater
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 07:28 pmVeronica decides to take advantage of her relatively slow day and relax with her laptop at the Perkolater.
She enters, orders a chai latte, and takes a seat at a corner table. She opens the laptop and starts organizing her files.

The Sidewalk Outside Chaucer's, Wednesday Night
Wednesday, September 21st, 2005 10:09 pmA rather shabby and homemade-looking journal lies on the sidewalk in front of Chaucer's, seemingly abandoned.
