Just inside the Imperial Junke Yarde, a quartet of people had found shelter during the night. It wasn't the best of accommodations. In fact, if not for the tarpaulin, the sleeping bags and shared body heat, they would have had an even more unpleasant than usual night.

As it stood, their makeshift shelter was cramped. The security on the junk yard was less than usual, which was how last night, when they had finally given up their search, they avoided a barrage of trolls and settled in for the night. They hadn't even been able to make it around the corner to Mauvaise Chance for a warm apartment to hide in. That would have been far too simple for Kawalsky, Alanna, Sam and Aly.

Nevertheless, it was finally morning. A cold morning to be sure. Kawalsky cracked open an eye, and then followed it with the other. He let out a quiet groan, knowing that getting up wasn't going to be easy.

"Hey," he said, sitting up and hoping to rouse the others. "Time to wake up."

Flanking the entrance to The Devil's Nest were two trolls. Two dead trolls to be exact. After the attempted attack on the club Lucifer had placed them outside as a warning and a decoration.

There was also a sign, held in one of the stone trolls' hands, offering free drinks to anyone who managed to kill a troll. Unless they were underage, then it was free Shirley Temples.

Okay so... the store is trashed.

You know what this means?

SIDEWALK SALE!

A number of intact items, including everything from the first aid secion that could be salvaged, are spread out on folding tables in front of the boarded up store. Apu is sitting on a lawn chair wearing a pair of sunglasses and drinking a Squishy with an umbrella in it. Lizzy the robo-guard-dog, is curled up in the shadow of the chair.

The shiny, intact, squishy machine has also been rolled out here.

Today's Christmas music:
All the CD's were smashed, we got a Big Mouth Billy Bass that sings "Take Me To The River" though.

Today's Squishy flavors:
Red, Sour Apple, Midori Sour

All and Sundries is open.

Kinda.

Despite the cold harsh wind, the sunlight drew Wilson out of the apartment and down to the park for a bit. He had decided not to go up to the school for his scheduled office hours, might hold them tomorrow…or maybe just Thursday this week, he wasn’t sure. All he was sure about was in not going up there today.

Instead, he picked up a chai tea from the Perk and then walked slowly over to the park. Feet unerringly found their way along the paths towards the bench by the pond and with a soft sigh, Wilson settled himself down on the cold surface. His mind was awhirl with so much, he hadn’t felt quite this overwhelmed or lost since the second time he’d sought Phale out to talk about the events with Crowley, Belthazor and Angelus.

He was hoping that the sunlight, cold air and the pond might help him feel better or at least help him make sense of his thoughts.

[ooc: The park is open as a park tends to be. Wilson is locked.]

Trust Braca to have taken a weekend trip when trolls invaded the town. Trust Braca to lose his chance at impressing Scorpius and having stories to tell of his exploits.

Frell.

There was a slight problem with Rosette's plan of escaping. She didn't have anywhere to go to sleep that night, so, using the secret passages she'd discovered in all her exploration, she had snuck back into the church. Maybe the trolls wouldn't have noticed she was gone.

They did.

And promptly locked her in her room in the basement.

Damn trolls!

After a weekend filled with sleeping, pouting, sneezing, yelling, kicking the door, and trying to pick the lock, Rosette eventually was able to tumble out of her room and into the now rather empty church basement. She had heard all the excitement of yesterday, heard the ringing of the bells, and cheered happily for the victory, but then realized that, wait, no one probably knew she was down there, kept in place with a lock from the outside. But now she'd finally gotten it. Hooray!

First thing she did was go to the kitchen and make about fifty hot dogs because she was terribly hungry. The trolls didn't make nearly as good hosts as she made a hostess, obviously. Then she and Chrono climbed the stairs, fearing what awaited them from the battle.

"Hoo boy," Rosette breathed out with a sigh. "At least this time I know it's not my fault...."

Considering all the wreckage still heavily present through the town, Chad wasn't entirely sure if he was expected to come into work today or not, but he figured better be safe than sorry, and, if anything, he could do what he could to put the place a little bit back in order and find out exactly what needed to be done for the place until Maureen could provide something more...official along those lines. If she was going to set to the task quickly, he should be there to help her, anyway. So Chad, being a good, dedicated worker, kind-of opened Empire Records on time after class, and immediately set to the long list of tasks to complete, clearing out some of the wreckage, taking a careful inventory of what was destroyed, what needed to be fixed or replaced, trying to figure out a way to take care of the broken windows that didn't involve boarding them up until they could get the glass replaced.

It was going to be a busy day, but Chad didn't mind the work, especially the clearing out of stuff.

Man...he wondered, looking around and clearing out, how badly some of the other establishments in town were torn up...

[[ empire's kinda-open ]]

Jarod was cleaning Caritas and gathering all the stone troll parts in one location, wondering vaguely about garbage collection and something he'd heard of called "large trash days."

This certainly seemed to qualify.

Even though it was about forty degrees outside, he propped the door open, needing the fresh, cold air circulating after this weekend.

Schrodinger was very excited to open the bar on his first day of work.

Oh so very excited. In a kind of disturbing way.

He put up a sign advertising a special cocktail he was so excited. Called the "Troll Suprise".

Probably best not to order it.

No, seriously, don't order it unless you can't enter a house without invitation and aren't a big fan of crosses.
[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com
Life was treating Peter pretty well at the moment. He helped fight some trolls to save the day yesterday, his one class today was cancelled - due to an unfortunate injury to the professor, may he have a speedy recovery - and he was on his way to Luke's Diner to meet Zero for a celebratory date. It would be pretty hard to knock Peter out of his current mood.

That's why when he saw a strange - but somewhat familiar - man in the park looking for something, he decided to walk over and lend a hand. "Excuse me? Can I help you with something?"

[OOC: Thread with [livejournal.com profile] swerval_zero locked, please. Guest character is here for a brief seasonal plot.

Once this is done, the park is open for all of your parkly needs.]

Ernest and the rest of the staff were still cleaning up after the Troll attack when Clark and his mother arrived.

"Mrs. Kent?" Ernest smiled. "Hi! Welcome to the Arms Hotel."

ooc: hotel and post are open.

Cafe Fina opened late on Monday. Alfred, Wadsworth, et. al were busy cleaning up the area around Cafe Fina from the troll fight.

Appearances were important if you were a restraunt, after all.

Cafe Fina was open.

John opens Sparky and decides to spruce the place up a bit.

By dragging a lawn chair over to the reception area and a blanket and do his best practice of his solo while snoring. He can clean up the back later.

Sparky's is open!

Aiden had spent the entire weekend barricaded in her room. The quick glances out of her windows had assured her that she really, really didn't want to meet any trolls, and she'd decided that keeping well hidden and out the way, really was the best plan.

It took her until lunchtime on Monday before she'd decided it was definitely safe to walk the streets again. Everyone else seemed to be out there now. She considered that a good way to judge the level of safety.

She let out a deep sigh once she got to her office, and stood back in the street, hands on her hips, eyeing up the damage. It was just her luck that the moment she'd got the place finished some goddamn great trolls had to arrive and smash the place to bits.

At least she didn't have to worry about whether or not to replace the door anymore. It was essentially gone, after all.

[ooc: Open, as these things generally are. The business, is in pieces, obviously.]
