Café Fina, Wednesday

Lumiere was staring at a bottle of white wine. The bottle that contained the red wine he had been staring at yesterday was sitting beside it on the countertop, empty. Lumiere's expression was perhaps a little glazed over, but at least he was wearing a grin.

The pepper shaker had been tied up and deposited in a corner with a sock in his mouth. There were only so many renditions of Who Let The Dogs Out that the staff could possibly take in one day.

That the wine bottle was empty, that Lumiere seemed a little on the disoriented side, and that the pepper had been singing terribly all yesterday might not have been entirely unrelated.

Today's Specials Board Reads:
Booze. Cheap. We
promise there will be no singing. Trust us, it's for the best.

They were all pretty drunk, themselves. They probably wouldn't even think to card students.

Not that they ever did before.

(Today's real special? I don't work. So, if you want to promote destruction of the lobby Fina with drunken antics, I'm here to cheer you on. Heck, the staff will help- they're all drunk. Have fun with marker graffiti, food fights, whatever suits your fancy. After all, it's all going to suffer far, far worse water damage in a couple of days! Amuse me with wanton destruction! Hi, I'm dumb and opened the Fina on Walter's day! So if you'd go to his post instead, that would probably make things easier on the radio people. Feel free to retain the drunkenness and perhaps the demolishing of things. *shifty lookings about*)

Teddy needed to stop having fun in the rain and buy an umbrella. He came into work today soaked, and spent his time there drying off.

Sparky's is open and soggy.

Turtle took a deep breath as she opened the store. She'd really, really missed this place. And the cash register and the SquishyBot and Liz and Cube and the sweet smell of commerce in the morning. She didn't miss Apu, though, because he was making comments about her laziness for having not been there that week. You can probably guess how that turned out.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Jalepeno, Pomegranate, Red.

Turtle & Canary is open.

After wading through the delightful rain to get to the restaurant, a rather... soppy Walter went about the usual preparations for opening the restaurant.

After hearing the explanation for why the pepper shaker both smelled like perfume and was tied up in a corner, he chose to leave the fragrant item precisely where it was. (He'd heard "Who Let the Dogs Out" and considered it one of the many deplorable things about the late 20th century.)

The specials board read: Free towel with every bowl of soup.

[ooc: No, I did not type "bowel of soup" because of "towel." Nope. Not I. Slight OCD. I can sneak some interaction in via email because really, how many tables can I format before I want to steal Lumiere's wine bottles?]

Dios, that was a lot of rain out there. Chad didn't even have an umbrella, but after a very quick dash from cheerleading to work with a jacket pulled over his head and, considering his roommate worked with water, he was thinking he pretty much needed one. Even after a slightly unsettling still pending investigation into the where-abouts of said roommate, cheerleading had gone assumingly well and things were going good with Teddy, so Chad was in a good mood as he got things around the store ready for new shipments of music that would be coming in. And tried to convince himself that Katara had just gotten way too into all this rain and sort of forgot things like coming inside...for several days.... It...could happen...

Today's Mix: Sex Blurred Weekend. Chad hated to start reusing his mixes so quickly, but, as this one well indicated, he hadn't really had much time to put together new ones.

Feast day of Saints Perpetua and Felicitas
Patron saints of married women
Because there's just SO many of them here...

Chrono opened the church that morning because Rosette had never shown up after her stint on radio the previous night, but she did come back at about midmorning. She's woken up on the couch at 25 Unicorn because Deadpool and Yuki were being all weird and insisted that she stay there that night, to the point of threatened kidnapping. It was a comfortable couch, though, so Rosette didn't so much mind.

Although, really, there wasn't anything that could probably manage to bother Rosette today.

Steerpike was beginning to regret having taken this position in town. Leo obviously had no power to speak of, few people ever came to actually hand over any good blackmail material, and today, it meant getting absolutely soaked making his way over from the school.

Still, the fact that it was raining, showing no sign at all of letting up . . . should it keep this up, there might be chaos ahead to take advantage of. That could certainly be interesting.

For now, he was behind the counter, reading a book on political coups in Africa and South America.

Fascinating stuff, really.

The Photo Hut was open.

Lana slogged through the rain to get to work and then had to mop up the floors a little as she got ready to open the store. Once that was done, she put on some quiet music and settled down with some homework to wait for customers.

Jarod was spending a lot of the evening with a mop in his hand--the water was starting to seep in under the door frame and whenever the door opened to admit a patron.

In between moppings, he tried to figure out where to take Jaye for their date tomorrow. A picnic was definitely out.

Aiden isn't a fan of all this rain. Not at all. Plus, there appear to be a couple of leaks in her office roof and she'd rather not risk the demise of her laptop. So she decided to camp out in The Perk rather than spend the whole miserable day in her dingy and now somewhat damp office.

Why not? After all, she is her own boss, and she doesn't exactly get a whole load of people dropping by anyway. Plus, she left a note so anyone who wanted to find her, could.

After setting up her laptop at a corner table Aiden settled in with a muffin and a large hot chocolate while she skimmed through pages worth of hotel phone records. Scintillating stuff.

[ooc: Open, obviously. Bug Aiden, or use The Perk for your own purposes. The choice is yours.]

Schrodinger was playing around with the voice changer he had gotten that day in class. Currently, he had used to get a sample of the Major's voice and was considering getting one from the Doc.

The Captain? Would be difficult.

It's pretty much a soaking rain at this point and Mel is pretty frakking drenched to the bone.

However this isn't about her. It's about Katara and hoping that somehow she's okay.

"You guys okay back there?"
