Everyone was entitled to a bad day, right? Well, today, A.J. just wasn't feeling it and was a little mopey behind the counter, most just nursing cup after cup of coffee and stared a little at the wall, thinking it could use some new paint. The specials were a good indication of his mood:

Today's Specials
Some fish thing
Something healthy-ish with brocolli
Coffee, black

He sighed. It wasn't like he wanted to feel this way, but...ugh. Dammit, his roommate was a freaking idiot.

Luke's is mopey open.

Beauty walked into the post office in a distracted mood, waved absently at Gladys, ignored Not Tiddles completely, and sat down on her stool behind the counter. She had a book -- Euripides' Medea, which was possibly not a very good choice for her mood today -- but she was mostly just staring at the same page anyway.

The thought crossed her mind that maybe Willow or Andrew knew some kind of magic that could turn a person into an animal permanently. Things had been a whole lot easier when she was a kitten.

Andrew opened the store and settled in behind the counter with a notebook and pen. He was trying to come up with a list of movies to bring to the impending 'Film Off' between him and Jeff.

So far all he had written down Harvey the Mallard, crossed it out, and written it down again.

That Magic Box is open for all your charming needs!

His room had looked . . . forlorn would probably be the best way to put it, cleaned out thoroughly of all the mess, leaving only a bit of debris washed up in the corners - dust, bits of string, old assignments. And, as so many before him, he now made his way to the causeway to await his final taxi off the island.

Life really sucked some times.

[[Open, but I may be slowplaying for most of the day.]]

So her trip into town on Monday had nearly been disastrous. Then there was the monkey assault yesterday at Pizza Planet. It followed that Hoshi was understandably a little jumpy when she came to the hotel for her weekly shift. Part of her felt like calling Miss Connell and saying that she was unable to work, but then she remembered how she managed to knock out that vicious monkey once she forgot about how scared she was.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Specials
Fried Monkey Brains
Deep-Dish Banana Pudding

Obviously, Gunther was not responsible for today's menu.

After his experiment with heating the church with candles this weekend, the floors and pews were covered by patches of candle wax. Gabriel had also run out of both candles and donuts. He was cold. This was not a good day.

[The church is open]

George Michael came to work armed with a huge stick. And he looked mad despite the black eye. Yesterday he got his bananas stolen, was given a black eye by a stupid jealous monkey, and he was denied any loving. What was wrong with this world?!

Today he had nothing to offer customers save maybe a cup of chocolate with a few nuts thrown in. Nuts were ten cents extra though.

Despite it not technically being within the shop's operating hours, the Open sign was on the door anyway.

Cable sat behind the desk. He was quiet - not a particularly odd fact by itself, but it carried just the slightest hint of frustration at the letter he was trying to write.

Dear Irene,

It was going to take him some time.

Whether it was going to get mailed was anyone's best guess.

His weekly load of paperwork finished, Dale was at his desk reviewing warrants, past case histories and various other tidbits from the past case files from the previous police officers of Fandom.

Any interruption to this routine would be greatly appreciated.

Cher was going home for the weekend. This fact was causing her much glee.

This might have been why the racks were being coordinated by color, and in some cases, sleeve-length. Or maybe Cher just thought it needed to be done.

Pixie Dust was open.

D'Argo was pretty sure tonight was going to be a quiet night. Thusly, he was spending his time badgering Tino on teaching him how to use one of the computers they had here. Don't question him, he had his reasons.

"Come on," D'Argo said, "I've used one before. Not here, but they can't be much difference."

He was stopping short of I'll be your best friend, but only because he'd never been a junior high student on Earth to know that one.

Johnny was behind the counter checking out the new digital cameras that came in overnight. Okay, maybe he was checking out the new video cameras and thinking about video recording a certain event that might be upcoming in his future. Near future. Very near near future.

Nahhhh, someone would kill him for sure. Namely his girlfriend.

The Hut is open.

[ETA: OMG *DIES LAUGHING AT YOU WHO KNOW WHO YOU ARE*!]

Valentine was juggling, as Valentines are apt to do. It was his living, after all.

Just wandering up and down the streets. Juggling. Like only a juggler can.

Hoping for someone to maybe throw some coins at him, or, at the very least, fresh vegetables.

Silly juggler.

(First thread locked to Jerries, then feel free to gawk at a juggler neither clothed, juggling, or conscious. Draw on his face in sharpie at your leisure.)

Jerry! They had a store, Jerry! It was such a lovely day for a store.

They should make sure that their store was extra-frendiperous. By polishing all of the guitars with ice cream. Ice cream made everything sparkle.

Jerry and Jerry loved their store. And the tiny hedgehog-flavored nightgowns. And the singing bass fish that Jerry was engaged to. And the donkeys, who drowned.

One Jerry looked for their bottle of rum under the couch while the other Jerry found more hair spray, so they could get back to polishing.

Just another day in Jerryland.

(For once specific guest ...)

Kabuto tapped his fingers on the bar, having nothing really to do. The place was already clean, and he'd done all the organizing during his last shift. Oh, well. He could always work on his latest project.

Kabuto settled back with his notebook behind the bar.

Naomi had felt like going outdoors for a while and had decided to go for a walk. She was more than likely going to regret that decision later.

They had had a very good day so far! Many pelts. Still fresh from the kill attack. Jacques and Francoise were rowing up and down the streets at nightfall, looking for a few more furs to add to their pile.

And, of course, singing.

"Et la tête, et la tête.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...
Alouette, gentile Alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerai."

(OOC: If you ping in here, they will club you and take your clothes. Consider this your warning. ;) )

Another night. Another patrol but this time Mel is more alert and determined than usual. As she walks with her watcher through the graveyard she inspects every grave and every patch of ground for any recent signs of digging or a hole where a body used to be.

"Guess this feels like old times for you, huh?" Mel asked.

Not all that old... )

[ooc: Preplayed with [livejournal.com profile] needsaparrot. NFI. That Mel and Xander went on patrol is okay for broadcast but anything else is NFB.]
