They made it back to Fandom in one Jump, hit the ground near the Causeway, and Altra instantly Jumped them again. Karal barely held onto his nausea, but he never let go of the boy.

When they reappeared in a cave - a nice cave, as caves went, dry and spacious, and he could hear the ocean - he stared around, blinking as Altra created a magelight. "Altra?"

:We're still on the island. If they find us, if they follow us... we need to hide him, and it's not safe for us to be near people. Give the boy to Gabriel and fetch Evey. I'm going after Anakin. I don't know if they can follow our trail, I obscured it as best I could, but we have to assume that they'll be here eventually.:

Karal swallowed hard and nodded, gently pressing Danyel towards Gabriel, and then he turned and ran out of the cave. Altra Jumped out a few seconds later, leaving the glowing blue magelight hanging in the air.

There was no one at the front desk today. Instead, Mary was sitting on one of the couches in the lobby, going over that wedding insurance policy one more time before she signed it. Okay, make that two or three times. Gunther, meanwhile, was keeping her supplied with tea and cucumber sandwiches.

Jen had ended up going out after work to tinker with her ship, a fruitless but time-consuming diversion that took up half the night and resulted in her falling asleep in the pilot's seat until inconvenient sunlight reflecting off a circuit panel woke her up.

She was half asleep at the counter now and pretending not to be -- but it was pretty obvious that she wasn't all here today, if you looked at the specials board.

Today's Special
(

There was a long squiggly chalk line below that one curved bit; it squiggled its way down to the bottom of the board and tapered off, perhaps to squiggle on toward infinity in mysterious invisibility.

Although if you looked down you'd see the chalk on the floor where Jen had dropped it, and a squiggly-line smudge on her cheek that matched the slightly smudgy part on the board, funny enough. (Oh, look, pink chalk too. What a disturbing coincidence.)

[OOC: Going to be AFK until this evening, so unless you want really really really slow service, you may wanna mod it.]

The Guy With Tools behind the counter, currently being a Guy With Laptop? He might have said laptop open to a wedding registry or two. Maybe.

After his stealthy operation, Roy headed to the station. There was a report that needed to be written. One that he'd been putting off for a week now and he wondered how insane he would be declared when his superiors read about those angel statues.

Maybe he should just not write it. Save himself the hundreds of questions that were sure to follow. Stupid sense of duty.

To be fair, Brooke didn't need the caffeine. But she needed to work somewhere besides her room if she didn't want to keep getting distracted, and she had a lot of designs to still finish before the fashion show. So she'd brought her book with her to work, occasionally sipping on her coffee, and just as occasionally visibly spazzing for a moment before sketching something new out. The two things were- amazingly- unrelated.

Gabriel sat perched on a rock by the cave entrance, staring out to sea. They wouldn't be able to hide here for long, he assumed, and he felt he should keep watch. This was an odd situation: he was stuck in a cave protecting a Nephilim together with a few mortals, against his own kind. Not quite something he would have considered a while ago. On the other hand, things were changing. Pyriel was a nuisance, and he had to admit that if things couldn't be like they was before, at least he preferred Karal's company to some bickering angels led by a maniac.

He glanced over his shoulder, wondering if the boy was still sleeping.

D'Argo was actually behind the bar today. Tino didn't seem to trust this, often looking over at him and looking confused.

"I've been busy, okay?" D'Argo explained, rolling his eyes.

Michael came into the diner and immediately started cleaning again.

He did find time for a specials board this time, though.

Luke's was open.

The shelves were lined with sugary goodness. Veritable armies of marshmellow peeps and their equally marshmellowy rabbit brethen. Droves of plastic eggs filled with little beans of jelly. Chocolate rabbits stood as generals over the masses. Just waiting. Waiting.

Waiting to be bought and eaten!

Today's Squishy Flavors; Plastic Egg Shell, Fake Blue Grass, Purple Rabbit

(oy! ignore the time and pretend this was always up. and yes, I'm punning in anticipation of tommorrow. MWHAHAHAHA!!!)
