Perhaps being out and about wasn't the safest of options, but Karal needed to walk, to be out in the fresh air, and they were being cautious.

Altra paced in front of them while Karal told Evey of what had happened in Special Collections today. "And I would be just as happy to never have a need to go in there again," he finished, twining his fingers with Evey's.

[ooc: Just for one. Oh, and for another one, too.]

The phone shut in Cable's gloved hand. That much had been taken care of. Wordlessly, he passed a piece of paper on to one of the staff. "Make sure she gets that," he said, and checked his watch again.

In no time at all, the final tournament would begin, and they'd have to be ready. For the occasion, he'd taken out the old black spandex suit, and had stacked up on weapons. A very large gun sat by his desk, his psimitar had been firmly attached to his back, and his pouches...

Well, he was still working on them.

He'd sent out a general call for assistance, as well-hidden as he could; there was no knowing exactly who would answer, and he was running out of time.

Cable, however, had faith he'd get his team.

[ ocd up, and for a select couple of people! go go away team! ]

Warren was cranky on Sunday morning when he arrived at the cafe to open up for the day.

Which, really, wasn't a stretch.

But Warren was mostly cranky because, somewhere out there, there was the opportunity to be a hero. And he was opening Fina instead.

Today's Specials
Order anything.
Warren will make the dishes cook it.
He's in a mood.

The dishes decided to try to console him by reminding him that he'd chosen the day he worked himself. They also suggested that, in a way, he was a hero for dealing with their antics!

The suggestion, really, had only resulted in the cheese-grater running in circles, trying to douse the fire on the seat of his pants with the contents of a bottle of vinegar.

[Cafe Fina is open!]

Jan had lost his contest, and he had lost it not because Korr was better, but because he had been stupid. Not just to break out of the pattern, but to believe, even for a moment, that Korr would stay, that his hatred had been anything but real.

Everything Korr had said to him came back, and he hung his head, miserable, pawing the earth. You are corrupter and betrayer. Weanling sop who led the unicorns away from Alma's laws. Your name is a curse...

He didn't even remember his name; it had been a gift from the voice upon his arrival. He snorted, pawing the earth again, and threw his head up to gaze out over the ocean.

[ooc: open, yup]

Given her new position ('deputy' was one of those words that made everything just a tiny bit better), Robin was fine with hanging out in Town Hall today, her gun still firmly holstered as she worked her way through paperwork, familiarizing herself with things and trying to work out the most efficient way to file everything.

It was a way to keep her mind occupied.

The box of cupcakes she'd gotten from her Victoria was on the edge of her desk, and while Robin had tried one, she was now thinking it might not have been the best idea. She'd probably poisoned them.

[flying OCD-free. Mostly if you have need for a Robin. And no, Victoria did NOTHING to the cupcakes. Robin's just paranoid.]

Barney had spent most of Friday making elaborate plans to take down Clark Butterfield. Everything was going perfectly, up until the bees escaped.

It was a miracle that he'd gotten to work this morning, face dotted with circular band aids. He slumped behind his desk with a cold compress pressed to his forehead.

Stupid nemesis.

Atlas Gym was open.

[going ocd-free as I watch me some Gossip Girl dvds, wheee!]

It hadn't escaped Biff's notice that very strange things were going on this weekend, which was why he was actually paying attention at the store today.

People might need meditation time.

Or, you know, arms.

Nana was having one of those days. But Jeff didn't mind. Not today. No, not even as she dragged him off the beaten path somewhere into the brush, where he managed to acquire several slashes in his favorite shirt. It had been a good week.

After all, everyone else had had their nemesises, but even after three days of cowering in his room, nothing had appeared to make his life miserable.

So Jeff? Jeff was whistling. Even after the branch hit him in the face.

[ jeff's not-expecting one particular person, but open for your parkly needs ]

Jolee was free from the horrors of the little blond boy for the first time in days. This was cause for a celebration.

The celebration was giving Tino a jaunty hat to wear.

Tino seemed happy with it. Hooray!

The HELP WANTED sign was still up.

[OOC: I want a jaunty hat.]

Lacey had absolutely no idea how much of a good thing it had been that she'd decided to spend her weekend doing a decoupage project, using some industrial-strength glue, and ending up spending most of the weekend glued to her kitchen table instead.

Given that the radio had been out of reach the entire time? Really no idea at all.

Some people had nemeses. A few people (like Lacey) just had their own ambition to contend with, and that was just as bad.

Today's Special
Cold cereal with fruit
Grilled Sweet Potato and Mango Salad
Bacon, Spinach, and Cheese Frittata

Luke's is open. Better not tell Lacey there's a sticky spot on the table, or she might cry. Maybe.
