Viki yawned, rubbing her eyes, and resting her head against the front desk for a moment, before making herself sit up straight. At work, she could at least pretend to be industrial, that that meant no sleeping on the job.

Even if she was tired, and trying to puzzle out why. As far Viki could remember she’d slept just fine the night before. “One of those days,” she commented to one of the cleaning staff as they passed by.

"Shut up," was the first thing Jen said to the kitchen staff when she walked in with two nearly identical boys in tow. "Not a word, about this, or about the leg warmers yesterday."

"Leg w --" Kit started to say, but Blake punched him and Jen had to separate them again.

"No cola for either of them, got it?" she added sternly in the kind of voice that the kitchen guys knew better than to argue with (at least for the time being).

She'd hoped that setting up to watch the new Racerranger would at least buy her some peace, a hope that was all too short-lived when Kit and Blake got into another huge fight about spoilers.

. . . maybe she could pawn them off on someone tonight and go drinking? She threw that thought out the window when the sudden, if irrational, fear of failing her Child Development class for it struck her.

"Boys, BE QUIET, MOM'S TRYING TO WATCH HERE."

It was going to be a long day.

[OOC: The OCD slipped sideways into a parallel dimension, the post is open, I will be SPish while I go to the grocery store.]

Hurley opened up Groovy Tunes, and today he was taking care of little Latara, the wokling he'd been assigned. So that meant the music of the day was... Sharon, Lois and Bram. Hey, kids music was universal, right?

Little did Hurley know that he was probably attracting a clientele he wasn't quite ready to deal with.

For the island? It was one of its favorite times of the year.

As soon as the decorations for the prom started to fall at the Town Hall, a flicker of light appeared at a familiar section in the park.

The flicker grew to a small beam which then grem to a bigger beam and then to a full blown shiny and twirly portal from which small children could jump out of.

Yes. The kid invasion had begun.

And really anyone who's been on the island for the last three years should have expected this by now.

[For the the entrance of the kidlets. My apologies for not getting this up earlier than I should have.]

As much as Ghanima disliked the pre-processed abominations that the staff at the Perk claimed were 'tea' or 'coffee', she had to admit that their freshly roasted blends were acceptable on the early mornings when she did not feel like grinding her own.

There were some mornings where laziness won out over quality, and the morning after chaperoning the prom was one of them.

Ghanima claimed a spot near the window where she could people-watch, sipping her coffee slowly. For some reason, the island seemed abnormally busy today, although she could not yet put her finger on the why.

Yet.

Waking up this morning to kids, wasn't as surprising as one might think. Finding out he had a kid with Chris, was shocking. Still, after a handwavey phone call to Chris and Summer, asking them to meet up at the beach, he was pretty calm as he watched his kids play. It wasn't a perfect day, weather wise, but it would do. Keeping the kids busy and out of trouble was his main objective.

[For the large brood mainly, but totally open for other kids and parents!]

Work was a good distraction, wasn't it? It kept one from thinking about how horribly wrong things had gone at home and the urge to want to shoot a certain ex-general.

And where the heck was his girlfriend? Mary hadn't seen her around in a few days and that was a bit worrisome.

...okay, a lot of worry.

So two doggies and a walk later, Murdock wound up at the lighthouse and began attacking it with gusto. With tools, you know.

(open of course, esp for any wee ittby ones that want to check out a lighthouse. mention of gf, her maid and doggie shamelessly modded, mwhahaha!)

Michael had not vanished after Loki had woken up and taken a shower and pinched himself. Michael had, in fact, become clingier than before. He'd also become mouthier and Loki was really able to see some of his influence in there. Still, this was an issue. He was not a father. He was barely even an angel. So, having a little boy running around, refusing to put his wings away was...disconcerting.

Loki had only gotten him to calm down by sitting down in one of the chairs and letting Michael crawl all over him like he was a fucking jungle gym.

"Watch the hair!" Loki said, wincing as it got tugged. "Easy!"

Like Michael was listening.

[Open, of course, for all people big and small!]

John had been up bright and early and off to the shop so hadn't noticed yet that there were a number of small people running around that weren't usually there.

How long his state of blissful ignorance would last was open for debate.

[ooc: open, especially for any wee ones, and most especially for wee ones he is related to.]

Feeling the embarrassment of last night even more heavily than before, Turtle had gotten up fairly early to get to work in kind really!, with the hopes to lose herself a little in her work. Maybe she could just spend all day with the comfort of the technicalities of business to distract her from way too much to think about.

It was, of course, to be a very vain hope.

She did, however, frown when she came in and saw Apu was there already, too, sweeping the floor.

"Do you...ever leave this store?" she asked, but waved her hand, heading to the counter, since she didn't really care about the answer.

Rusty was beginning to hate this town.

The kid that was calling him dad seemed to be having fun sitting around with a deck of cards though.

"Hey, Dad, you wanna play poker?"

"Sure, kid, why not. You gonna tell me your name?"

The kid rolled his eyes. "I told you, you can call me Jack."

Rusty sighed. "Fine, deal the cards, Jack."

After a good bit of debate, and getting Tony to babysit her other kids during dinner, Dinah took Lena to El Burrito to wait for Priestly, and dinner. "Did you guys have fun today?"

Anyone coming to fight club this week would see the ball pit and piles of mats from weetiny weekend set up again, along with some colorful punching bags.

Which the adults could play with too, if they wanted.

Tyler wasn't dressed for a fight, and the curly-headed little girl who he kept glancing back at as he talked probably gave an indication as to why.

Estella, it turned out, hated fighting. She was pouting quite a bit just about being in the gym.

But he'd do his job, even if he looked exhausted. "Right, so you know why you're here. Guests, welcome, play nice. Atreides, got anything to add?"

Ghanima had a small blonde child balanced on her hip, and an older red-haired girl stood nearby, blue-on-blue eyes watching everything with interest. These two children, at least, clearly took after her. "Those not normally residents of this island who are under the age of ten must have permission from their 'parents' before hitting the sparring mats," she said firmly. She wouldn't put it past any of the people present to have children with mildly violent tendencies. "Otherwise, have fun."

[Preplayed with the fantastic [livejournal.com profile] tyler_back. Up early for SP & no RNG this week, due to Easter and AU Kidlets!]
