Worf was spending most of his day going through reports coming from his dimension and on the Klingon Empire in general.

Judging from the extra grumpy expression on his face it was suffice to say that things were not going well.

Wellspring is open. Beware the grumpy Klingon.

Early morning and Reese was scowling, which, admittedly, wasn't anything new. The reason behind it was.

Reese was willing to let it go but nooo... someone wouldn't shut-up about it. She opened her water bottle and took a swig, when she turned a corner she saw Aphrodite was already at the starting line.

There was a crisis and she had better things to do but here she was outside, preparing for a foot race. Swell. Reese's scowl deepened. Seriously, how did she get roped into this?

(Aphrodite modded with permission.)

(OOC: Open! Point, stare, and call them crazy. 'Cause they kind of are. Post in SP due to time difference.)

This entire last week -- what with the homesickness, friends falling asleep and not waking up until days later, too much confusion -- it all affected Elle's positive happy-go-lucky charm in a rather negative fashion. She did hope that today was the beginning of a better week. She desperately needed to go shopping and no, she wasn't concentrating on that while at work, it was a thought that contributed to many. It was important, that's all. As many things were. And it was super fun.

She leafed through notes she'd jotted down last Monday. More empty pages, honestly. She really hoped someone needed legal services today. She was just the girl for the job. Totally. Making herself useful, she grabbed a law dictionary and started to read.

The Law Offices of Cabot and Associates
LEGAL SERVICES • LEGAL AID

The law office was open.

So Mirax had survived her first island-wide weirdness. This was startlingly easy to do when your mun wasn't around. Deciding this went into the category of "Things to never tell anyone from back home," she set to setting up the shop for the day and finally taking a seat at the counter, mentally trying to think up what her next message back would say instead. "Hi, don't worry, everything's exceedingly boring, or maybe I'm still alive, aren't you proud?. Maybe not so much that second one.

Although talking with Mina was usually nice, the topic of their conversation last night hardly was, especially piggy-backed on the fact that she'd spent an entire week investigating a ball of twine, and actually felt good about it because it really was doing a small piece, even if it was microscopic. She wanted to say that it was nice to be back in the station again, but, as she settled in to make the most out of her morning and catch up on what she could before she needed to head to the school for her class, she knew she'd much rather be trying to do something, even if it was ridiculous, than just sitting behind a desk with all this paperwork.

So there was a lot of coffee and a full-speed ahead attitude toward getting the radios transcribed for the records, and a great deal of relief that she'd decided to switch her classes around and hit up meditation today.

Turtle knew she had a lot to catch up on from being a turtle all last week, but she couldn't bring herself to actually focus on it much. Her conversation with Maron last night was sticking to her like superglue and she couldn't shake a lot of it. On the one hand, she felt glad that whatever had happened had skipped her since she was a turtle, but, on the other hand, something really big happened and she wasn't a part of it because she was a turtle. It was good to know that she may have skipped some really scary stuff, like Maron had described, but, at the same time, she hadn't done anything to help, either.

She was mostly just trying not to think about it, and trying to think of ways to at least make everyone else feel better. So she very definitively claimed it:

FREE SQUISHY DAY!

Come on in and get a free Squishy today!
No purchase necessary (although it would be nice)

The sign was extra glittery. People might need a little extra glitter today.

Today's Squishy flavors: Red, Grape Judas, Clover.

Turtle & Canary is open!

After that whole fiasco with the squirrels on Friday, Rachel had not only procured a very nice "NO SQUIRRELS" sign for the lobby (oblivious, no doubt, to it's complete ineffectiveness) but she had laid low all weekend, pretty sure she wanted to avoid at all costs whatever weird sleeping thing had gotten into the air or the water or whatever. Thank goodness she'd had a nice supply of bottled water in case of emergencies, and she was going to insist on drinking from those and only those for at least a month. Maybe even two. You couldn't be too careful with these sorts of things and, besides, drinking water that you didn't have to boil first to kill all the gross things in it was something she would cherish for her entire life.

There were, however, more important things to worry about right now, business things, adult things, like bills. And, boy, there were a lot of bills, but there was also rent, and it was a very satisfying thing to balance her books and see how rent came out above the bills and this whole enterprise was so far successful.

Successful. Eat that, Adah.

Annja was tired when she opened the store today, but she was in a more relaxed mood. The coma victims were awake and safe, and somewhere their Fandom had helped save the day.

What more could she ask for. Besides a date.

She put up the sign and headed behind the counter.

Alex opened up the store a little early, extremely relieved (and thrilled) that everyone was awake and mostly okay.

She had an iced coffee with her, in case she needed an extra caffeine boost during her shift. Once she made sure the store was in order, Alex sat down behind the counter with a book on spells and began reading.

The Magic Box is open.

After stopping in the Third Floor Common Room for muffins and glomping, Dinah had to take off or jump out of her skin. Sunlight. Beach. Nothing to be afraid of. It was awesome.

And it kept her from thinking about stuff she'd told Tony. She was not in denial. Just, maybe, avoidance. For a little while. 'Til she had some distance.

Running was good for that.

Morgan was back at the store, back at work, and very much distracting himself from everything thank you very much. So if you needed the handyman, you'd have to shout or ring the bell on the counter because he was in the back workshop finishing up a trellis.

Eliza Doolittle had an absolutely glorious night's sleep, and in fact, had all week.

So you'd think she would have been able to laugh it off when she arrived downstairs to open the front door of the shop and beheld that her sign had been replaced again.

With this:

There was staring for a great long while, and the loud, accented uttering of a word, then the checking of her ledger because she had the odd feeling she owed someone money somewhere, then the narrowing of eyes, and the looking about for a bill of lading that actually had a telephone number on it.

Nonetheless, the shop was open.

[OOC: Open, and signage, as is frequent, by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] heromaniac!]
