Sophie had finally tracked down someone she trusted to work with the crew in Boston while she was gone; Tara had wanted to come back to the States, and owed her a favor, so everything just rather... coalesced, into a perfect coincidence of potential. Now she could relax for a few months, at least, secure in knowing the team was in good hands.

Despite how often Nate was still calling.

The display of islands, plus the strong possibility that next week's rehearsal would be very brief, had all but convinced her that a little trip was definitely in order.

"Two tickets to Dubai, please."

Having a class movie day (which translated to 'Chewie wears out a pencil sketching her way through class' day) knocked the chances of the mood in the store being volatile down a notch or two; a good yelling match with Arthur (which was, perhaps not inexplicably, good for the soul) accounted for the loss of another ten percentage points of that chance.

With one more class to get through tomorrow before break started, Katchoo was almost relaxed, the loud punk-Celtic-fusion fiddle music coming from the stereo notwithstanding. Even her cynical self hadn't been able to resist the Olympic opening ceremonies, apparently.

She'd set up her canvas near the counter; after a few minutes of contemplating it, she picked up a brush and started to slap heavy, paint-laden streaks of reds and deep blues across it in time with the music. She wasn't sure what it would be yet, but she had the feeling it was going to be interesting . . . probably in the 'oh my god, were you on drugs when you did this?' way.

[OOC: Oh, did I mention the post is open? And the OCD facepalmed itself into oblivion (shut up, it's anthropomorphic OCD and can totally do that) at my impulse-buying iTunes habit.]

Vida had read over the latest notes from her employees and found herself in agreement. Some sort of celebratory dinner was definitely needed to thank her lovely floral minions for their hard work through the holidays.

Three days until the Bahamas.

... yep, that was about all Tara had today.

She cleaned the store cheerfully before settling behind the counter with a book about charms, ready to help anyone who wandered in.

[OOC: All out of creative. Send booze? Open shop, anyhow!]

Lindsay was eating a giant double cheeseburger with just about every topping imaginable along with a side of onion rings while reading an e-mail from her buddy Claire from home about the health benefits of eating soy based foods.

In response Linz send her a picture of the food she was eating along with a message saying "HELL NO."

Soy? Really?

So jail had been... about as fun as Jake remembered it being when he was 18. And then ballistics had come back and cleared his name and even after that Mal just wouldn't shagging drop it and Leslie was back to giving him the cold shoulder and Nikki was being... Nikki.

Yeah.

So Jake did the only sensible thing: ran away from his problems. Packed a few bags and tossed them into the GTO and just... drove. Didn't stop at Port aux Basques neither, just got on a ferry and kept going down the coast, past the border, til he saw a turnoff for something called "Fandom Island".

And so it was that three days after he'd left St. John's, Jake Doyle found himself wandering Fandom. First thing he'd done was find the pub, which disappointingly seemed to be closed for the moment. So, okay, next best thing: coffee.

Lord God, that was some good coffee.

[ooc: open like a thing that is open!]

Castiel stepped up behind the podium looking stern and studious. His trench coat was in order, his tie was no more in disarray than usual, and his expression was bland. In fact, there was absolutely nothing strange or amusing about his appearance or mannerisms at all.

Okay, so there was a ketchup stain on his lapel. That didn't count.

"I thought that today I would open the floor up to questions," he said. Because even angels had days when they couldn't think of anything to say.

[ooc: My brain will actually kick back into gear any moment now, I swear. . . . OCD is up.]

Hoshi made her way into the lobby, took Porthos off his leash so he could run around, and was about to take her seat at the front desk when she noticed a man sleeping on one of the lobby's couches.

She groaned and went shake the guy until he woke up. "Look, buddy, you can't stay here. Either get a room or I'll have my friend Gunther kick you out of here," she said.

To her dismay, the bum turned out to be a very hungover Gunther. Hoshi bustled him off to sleep it off in one of the first floor rooms, then returned to the front desk. Hopefully that would be her only problem with Gunther all day.

Priestly spent his down time in the diner today working up posters for a Fandom roller derby league.

Considering that he'd walked in to discover the busboy being "knighted" by the spatula-wielding cook, naming him "waiter in perpetuity", while the dishwasher looked on with a tear in his eye and a napkin clenched in his fist, it was probably safe to assume that he had a lot of down time.

Geoffrey was going to be wandering around the theatre muttering today. Don't worry, he wouldn't knock into you unless you stayed still for too long; he was considering some of the blocking ideas he had.

Rose'd barely installed herself at the front desk to try to focus on some of the stupidly annoying paperwork that had built up when Jessi came in.

"Aww, Rose, you look terrible," Jessi cooed, sacchrine sweetness just oozing from every bit of her pink spandex-clad body.

Rose glared. She was pretty rough after drinking with Alex last night, but between actually getting some sleep with him and the totally useful dhampir constitution, she was feeling better than she had since getting back to Fandom.

"Did he ditch you already?" Jessi continued, trying so hard to be innocent. "It just seems so mean to pull that act on you. You're so young."

...um, what? Rose had totally stopped even pretending to ignore Jessi as she just stare, trying to figure out what she was talking about.

"You can't let it affect you so much, sweetie. I'm sure there's plenty other little high school boys you can hang out with, even if hot'n'broody moved on to someone more - mature." Jessi apparently had drawn her own conclusions. As usual.

Rose was never going to stop being smug. Never, and she smirked over at Jessi. "It's so nice you're worrying about me. Like - you're my friend or something. Guess Dimitri didn't fill you in like you wanted?"

Jessi huffed, tossing her head. "He's never going to go for a high school girl, oh em gee. He's needs a real woman. Like me."

"You should tell him that," Rose agreed. Smugly. Oh so smugly.

"I will!" Jessi decided, completely missing the mockery. "Tell me when he comes in, kay?"

She missed Rose's eye-rolling too. Yeah. That was going to happen. "You're going to miss your Tae Bo class. Better go make sure you're in shape next time you try to fight me."

Jessi bounced away happily. Rose had admitted Jessi had a shot at Dimitri and that she could totally take her with Tae Bo. Today was Awesome!

Rose just smirked, and now she wasn't so much even trying to focus on the paperwork. Instead there was daydreaming about certain events from Tuesday morning. It was much more productive.

[The OCD is off doing Tae Bo with Jessi]

The TV was on and showing the Olympics, and Jack was leaning back in his chair sipping a beer and munching Doritos. Not exactly in the spirit of the store, but hey.

If you wanted to buy, you know, actual sex stuff, Jack could help with that, too.
[identity profile] findingelena.livejournal.com
Okay, so Elena was a little late. She was here, and that was what mattered, right?

And drinking. Maybe once she got properly drunk, she'd tried on some shoes.

Pixie Dust: open.

Adrian was filling in tonight, and don't think Tino wasn't disappointed to see him walk in the door instead of Kyle.

"I know how much you missed me this week," Adrian told him, "so I thought I'd come to spend some quality time."

Tino grumbled something about needing to go check the stockroom for the next few hours.
