Oh, formal events. How the cash register adored you. Jenny opened up Pixie Dust on Friday after taking a few minutes to rearrange things to make sure the formalwear was most obvious, then put a sign in the window:

Prom 2011, Community Center, Friday Evening [Part 1]

The community center had been decked out once again, this time to welcome Fandom's students to their prom. The Student Council had picked a black and white theme, and that had ended up translating to classic Hollywood in the decorations. There were black and white balloons and streamers hanging up, blown up pictures from old black and white movies decorating the walls, and each table had a vase of lillies, to give the place a little extra springtime feel.

Tiny white lights had been hung up all around the dance floor to give people a bright place to get their groove on, and the only thing that didn't match the theme was the food and drink table, which was covered with all kinds of moddable treats. With everything set up, the doors were opened, and the evening was ready to begin.

After missing work last week, Bod was back today and the staff seemed interested in where he'd gone. He chatted with them, keeping things vague and claiming that he was distracted by thoughts of the prom tonight. His suit was cleaned and pressed so he'd just need to shower and shave after work in order not to smell like grease or delicious food.

Ben had his list of things he needed to do before picking Tahiri up for prom--tuxedo pick-up, corsage pick-up, haircut, a good hour to repress the fact that this was their third and probably final prom together--and had just worked himself into a nice brood when the shop began dropping pineapples on his head.

No brooding for Ben Skywalker today, thank you, though a concussion was not outside the realm of possibility right now...

With Easter and Mother's Day so close this year, Vida's player was in floral hell, but she was fully aware that the prom was this evening, so she had a lovely display of corsages and boutonnières available for sale.

There were no plans to order any love bunnies, tempting as it was.

It was prom night. Mary wasn't going, but she was daydreaming about the time Danny McCoy took her to the senior prom. This could work out to the advantage of anyone needing last-minute reservations for tonight.

Some of the balloons had deflated, and the streamers were hanging a little lower, but prom was still going strong. The punch might not have been safe anymore, but the dance floor was, and with the prom court announcements coming, there was plenty of time left to have some fun.
