The Gig, Monday Afternoon

It was a very sad Angelica at the Gig today as she said her goodbyes to the horses. The stables at the Massachusetts Academy had been closed since the fire and Butter Rum's death, so there were no horses there now. Maybe she could convince Emma to bring them back given how she'd taken care of the horses at the Gig.

Regardless, she was lavishing attention on each of the horses in turn today, taking them out for a little exercise despite the cold. She was really going to miss them.

Joan was back in the office today, taking a careful eye to Eric's finances over the holidays. She was a bit worried about how much of his credit card payments seemed to be directed back towards Louisiana, not only in Shreveport but somewhere called Bon Temps, but hey, it wasn't her business, was it?

She had the house lights on as she worked, sipping a glass of orange juice. Hey, it was still pre-happy hour. She might have been smoking, but drinking on the job was another thing entirely.

Rather than inventory today, Karla was searching the back room to find all of the costumes and lingerie that the store had accumulated over the past few years. She needed to see what exactly they had to work with to get ready for the requests she was expecting from Troy and Jono.

Okay, and she was sometimes pausing to pull up hideous examples of clothing and squeal.

Stark Industries, Monday

Ender was in a fairly decent mood today. Despite the bad news coming in from Ben's side, Alai's reports had been slightly more optimistic - at least in terms of them setting up for whatever disaster was probably approaching.

They were in for some massive political trouble. That much was certain. Ender was just hedging his bets, and hoping the Jedi were smart enough to stay out of it.

That was not one of the things he was optimistic about.

But now he was at work, talking to Jane as they rifled through data from the Jedi Temple library together. It was obvious they had lost a lot of work only decades ago, but they were piecing together what they could.

So there he was. Reading, mostly.

Cafe Luke's, Monday

"Because it's not what I ordered!" Vincent was on the phone behind the counter, arguing with one of his distributors, free hand flailing in the air. ". . . Because I never order it! I get all my meat unseasoned and unprocessed, you know that!" He sighed. "Fine. But if my reputation goes in the toilet, we'll both know who's really to blame."

He hung up, looked at the stacks and stacks of plastic wrapped meats, and rolled his eyes as if to ask the heavens what he had done to deserve such a fate.

Caritas, Monday

So certain other bartenders may have been getting all fancy with their drink specials, but Jake... well, let's just say the patrons of Caritas were lucky Jake remembered alcohol came in varieties besides "beer" and "rum". Which totally explained the shot-rainbow he had lined up on the bar today.

Look, he had to test this stuff for quality every so often. It was part of his job. Really.
