Bod had a book under one arm when he arrived at work today. He dropped it on the counter and went about greeting the staff and helping them get the appliances cleaned before starting food prep for awhile. After that was done, he cleaned up the diner area and then grabbed up his book and took a seat behind the counter.

Apparently, choosing the daily special was serious business, as Toby discovered on this particular day when he walked in to work to find a heated argument in progress between the serving droids. Toby had no idea what half those words being slung around meant (if they even were words, but he was pretty sure they weren't compliments)

SPECIAL:
... WE'LL GET BACK TO YOU ON THAT

After getting to pull a rickshaw blindfolded for class (and really, what class hadn't done that?), Ben was in a good mood as he settled in behind the counter with some of the unclassified documents Ender had passed along about the colony they'd be heading to after graduation.

It kept his mind off of the mess his own galaxy had become, but he'd be happy to set it aside and help any customers who came in looking for something to get fixed!

Seifer had opened the shop, glaring at the sky as he did. He had been told that winter in this part of the country meant snow and cold temps. Today, it was sixty degrees out, and there didn't look to be snow any time soon. Which kind of sucked because he had been hoping for real snow for once.

Snow or no snow, Groovy Tunes was open today, and Seifer was there to talk to.

There had been a bet. A bet that Matt had won and was now about to reap the rewards for.

So the grin on his face might be because he was going over the menu to see what his options were or because of his dinner partner. Most likely the latter.

"So what's the most expensive thing on this menu?" Matt asked as his hands went over the braille menu. "Because I think I'll need two."

[Matt is here for one though post is open for anyone needing a Bloomin' Onion.]

Kenzi had had an awful surprise this morning. Holy crap. Only one person could be responsible.

She'd brought in as many as she could lug to sell. And was planning on leaving them in Common Rooms. But still. Holy crap.

"Reveeeennnnge..." Kenzi muttered, propping up mannequins with the damn magazines. "Will be mine."

Okay. So maybe, despite all their nights of drinking with the rest of the guys, Topher had never hung out with just Tony and Billy before. And maybe he had sort of appreciated that, because hanging out with both of them at once was weird since, you know, it was Tony and also Billy and they were both sort of... important and whatever. But they were also both really cool (hello, it was Tony and Billy), so it wasn't like he was going to say no to a night of hanging out with them and seeing a dorky movie. That would just be insane.

So. Topher waited outside the theater, shifting from foot to foot and not looking awkward at all. Nope. Nothing about this was going to be weird, no matter what you could tell from his face or his posture or simple common sense.

And then he got a text from Tony and frowned.

"Huh," he said.

Okay, if Tony was bailing, it was possible that this night had just gotten even weirder.

Well. He had a new employee as of tomorrow. He also had Portalocity's Guide For New Employees. It was a veritable tome of different ways to approach customers without actually giving them any assistance at all. It would almost be fascinating--if it wasn't kind of morally reprehensible. The book could give the Dark Fae a few ideas about psychological warfare, that was for sure.

Anyway, Trick made sure to set out the pretest, the answer key, and the real test for Jim to fill out tomorrow. He was more interested in the pretest, really. He wanted to see what kind of person he hired before the lad read what Portalocity expected of him.

It may have been cold out, but that just meant Freddie didn't have to worry about his CPU overheating. Having everything set up, he warmed his hands by rubbing them together.

"You seriously are going to be in Yakima next week?" Freddie said to Carly via the webfeed to Seattle.

"I have to, sorry," Carly said, not looking too happy about it. "Maybe Sam can... make a new cohost."

Freddie frowned slightly.
