She hadn't been able to sleep, so Éponine had spent the entire night wandering about the island, and when she finally got home in the morning Alouette was hiding under the sofa in a fit of pique at having been abandoned for so long.

Which meant that there wasn't a kitten pouncing bits of dust around the post office today, and that despite the very large iced coffee she'd picked up at the Perk after her delivery run Éponine was trying very hard not to fall asleep behind the counter, and not succeeding terribly well. It would have been nice if she'd actually been able to sleep, but she kept drifting off and then waking up again, and that only made matters worse.

She'd be irritable about it, but she'd have to be more awake for that.

Kitty arrived to work wearing normal- black- clothes that wouldn't cause anyone to stare, as promised. She figured this would probably be the most noteworthy thing about today.

And then she realized that both Tino and the zombies seemed to be stuck moving in slow motion, which for the record was making the music sound really weird. God, Kitty hoped this wasn't contagious.

So, uh. Don't go to Tino for speedy service today.

After his class earlier, Flick really needed to get outside. He hated the feeling like the world was caving in on him, hated that heavy weight sitting on his chest, making it almost impossible to breathe. He'd had panic attacks before and he'd gotten familiar enough with the signs that he knew how to stave them off for the most part. His preventative actions didn't always work but this time, they had.

He didn't care that it was hot. He needed to be outside. And he didn't want to slink around in alleyways right now. So, he'd taken a seat at one of the tables outside of the bakery and calmed himself down. Once that was down, he leaned back and naturally started to scope out the people passing him by. His eyes darted to purses, backpacks, and pockets that were a little too full to just be carrying a set of keys.

He'd done enough stealing the other night on the mainland to get another set of clothes, at least, but he couldn't help falling back into old habits. His father wanted him to hide but he hadn't said disappear. Besides, this was a talent that didn't hurt anyone. For the most part.

Flick hadn't moved though. He was just waiting for the right moment, the right person before he decided if he was going to snatch and go.

[Open. He's not going to steal anything, unless you want him to, of course]

There was not enough caffeine in the world this morning, it seemed. Mary was on her third cup as she stared blankly at her computer screen, trying to remember why she reserved rooms 213, 313, 513, and 613 without any actual reservation. "I should know better than to mess around with this stuff before I'm fully awake," she grumbled to Gunther as he poured another cup.

Bay checked the supplies in the kitchen, made a note to order more sriracha, and then stationed herself at the counter. She was ready and willing to wait on anybody who wandered in -- but as long as things were quiet, she was going to keep working on the graffiti she had planned as a belated birthday present for Gert. She was happy with the general concept, but she kept having to go back and forth between a photo on her cell phone and the giant piece of paper she planned to use for her stencils before she felt like she'd really captured Old Lace. (As a drawing. Literally capturing Old Lace was the kind of battle Bay had not signed up for.)

The dinosaurs she drew nibbling at the corners of the menu sign were there strictly for practice.

Welcome to Luke's!

Yesterday Jaina turned 33. That had been tough enough, considering even when she and Jacen had been estranged they still shared a birthday, and now it was just hers because he wasn't alive anymore. And then she said goodbye to Anakin for what she knew was the last time, and now it felt like she was just waiting for him to die, which was more morbid than she knew what to do with, but there she was.

She hadn't slept well, and then spent most of her day at the gym, trying to distract herself from her own thoughts. (Sorry to anyone who'd wanted to use the punching bag- you didn't get to.) And that meant the last place she would be was in her apartment tonight, alone and thinking too much.

So the Perk it was, sitting at a window seat and keeping an eye on the baristas, wishing they would fight or do something she could at least watch.

[So open!]

Emma had spent the last week in New York dealing with Hank and his Science (and separation anxiety issues), so she was glad to be back at the Nest for the night. She adored Hank, but his Science tended to get... messy.

The DJ was spinning general dance music and even Tiny was behaving, since he was glad Emma wasn't making him work alone tonight. The Devil's Nest was open for business and OCD-free.

There were things she could be doing in her room but, after class, Karina didn’t really feel like dealing. All of it was work, not play, and she was in the mood for something that wasn’t work. She wandered around town, spending a bit of time looking at pets (not that she bought one) and wandering the aisles of the hobby store, but eventually her mood drove her outside.

Maybe she’d go swimming? Or just hang out in the park?

Or even get a smoothie and just check out all the backstreets?

Yeah, somehow that one was the winner. Go figure.
