Jessica was having a plain old normal day at Stark's. nothing weird. Nothing notable. This lasted most of the morning and it was boring so that got changed.

Things picked up when Peter Parker - fresh from his sudden appearance on the island and costumed strip show at Caritas last night - walked in. "We'll, there's a familiar face. What are you doing here, Jessica?"

Jessica's face showed a grab bag of emotions. Confusion. Excitement. Arousal. Wait, what? More confusion. "I work here. I go to school here. What... Wait. Are you older than me?" And did that make him a little cuter? Wait, stop that. Focus on the important thing. He was older somehow and he wasn't dead. Was this a trick?

"I think we should probably write this off as Fandom being weird," Peter said. "I knew that already, of course. I mean, I haven't been here in years and the geography is different and Caritas is a strip club. So it's being weird, right?"

"Oh, yeah, definitely some weird stuff going on today," Jessica said, finding herself staring at his rugged jawline. Was her jaw that appealing?

"Well, since I seem to be here completely randomly, want some company while you're working?" Peter offered. "You can catch me up on what's going on in town right now." As a side benefit, maybe he'd get to smell her hair. No, no, there was nothing strange about that! It was just that she clearly took care of it. It was so bouncy. And probably smelled nice.

"Um. Sure. But first, and I can't explain why because there are legitimate timeline reasons for it as far as I can guess, but I need to give you a very awkward hug," she said, hopping over the counter to hug the DNA donor she had lost so many months ago.

It was way more awkward than she thought it would be. And it definitely lasted a little too long. And maybe it was a little hot, too. Which made it so much more awkward.

So yeah, this was what was happening at Stark's today.

[OOC: I can't sleep, so I'm posting now! Yay 3:45 AM! SP is expected if I ever do fall asleep, and/or late in the morning when I go see The Wolverine.

Post is open to all, especially fans if they want to make it weirder or declare it too weird and reign it in. Either way!]

Kitty hadn't especially needed radio to figure out something was up on the island. No, she'd figured that out around the time Derek ended up stripping on the stage of her bar, because it had a stripper pole now. And that didn't even count strangers having an opinion on- or apparently watching- her love life. Whatever it was, she assumed it was one of those weird weekends where everyone went insane and it all fixed itself by Monday's classes, so as long as none of it seemed to be affecting her, she was going to try and keep to the less populated areas of town and try to avoid the weirdest stuff today.

Of course taking a walk around the warehouse district meant that she ended up watching a fight between some random astronauts and equally random cavemen, which, okay, had been kind of entertaining since no one was doing any actual fighting. This is what happened when the fic writers didn't know how to write fight scenes. Mostly what they did was yell dramatic things at each other while shaking what looked like Roman spears, because someone had also not done their research. Like at all.

And then came the part where a caveman finally threw a spear, probably due to caveman temper or something, and totally missed any any all astronauts to hit Kitty in the side. Not only did it seem like it'd been specifically aimed at her for no reason, but it hit her where it wouldn't do any real permanent damage, but would still hurt like hell. Which it did. It totally, totally did.

Since the cavemen and astronauts had started wandering off to argue elsewhere, Kitty had to sit down and try to fix this. Normally it'd be easy: she could phase the spear out without causing any more damage, then head on over to the clinic while phased because she couldn't bleed when she wasn't solid. The problem with that was that she'd mostly been unable to phase since yesterday since someone didn't seem to get how her powers worked.

So for the moment she was going to sit here against the wall of the warehouse and try to figure out what to do about this. Stupid cavemen. Now she knew who she rooted for in that time-honored debate.

[For one!]

Well, April had a new weapon full of frozen yogurt. At first, it looked like that was bad news for Tino, because April sprayed him with froyo quite a bit before he even realized where it was coming from, but in fact it turned out to be even worse news for Tino, because April got a little bit of chocolate on her hoodie and wound up going home to "change." She was not coming back.

So, it was a frozen yogurt-splatted Tino who was manning the bar today. He was irritated. Obviously.

[[mod Tino, no OCD!]]

Bel wasn't sure what he was doing in Fandom. He'd just been bored, he guessed, and heading to the island to see what was going on seemed as good an idea as any. Well, ignoring the fact that usually there was some sort of major disaster or something going on whenever he happened to visit.

And it was usually Anakin's fault, of course. He still blamed him for the whole Umbridge thing for inconveniently dying and all.

So he just wandering around town now to see what was going on, as you do.

[Open, but major SP for me as I have guests and it's Pride weekend, wheee. :D ]

Nikolai showed up for his Arms Hotel shift today with a somewhat grim look on his face. After playing cabana boy last week, he was far less inclined to be patient with any gremlins that happened to enter the lobby today.

... Which might have explained the tall leather boots he was wearing under his jeans, and the way his hand was pretty much hovering by his face through his shift, practically twitching to pull his shades down if he saw anything small and green skittering across the floor.

Look, you deal with gremlins your way, and Nick would deal with them in his.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel
Today's Specials:
Arroz con Pollo With Apples
Oreo Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes

Nikolai was in no mood to go insane and act like somebody entirely not himself, today. Now, let's see how long that would last.

[Open- With extra OCD for any guest characters who might want to post to their hotel rooms today.]

"I'm not doing that, Carl, it's disgusting."

"Come on, I bet he'll like it."

Yeah, Stiles was still caught in a weird, unnecessary demon AU. And, no, you didn't want to know what Carl was trying to convince him to do.

"It seems very unsanitary," Stiles said, looking like he was talking to himself. Which was completely sane. "Can't we just feed ducks instead?"

[Open, of course]

There was a small stack of mail that Clint was going through after his workout, and the temptation to just toss all of it was strong. It was like filling out paperwork only even more boring.

Of course he didn't think there was anything strange about him sitting at the desk without a shirt on. Who worked at a gym fully dressed?

Mercy wasn't entirely sure what was going on, but she'd decided to find a place where she could observe without looking too much like she was just staring at people.

Besides, the Perk had great hot chocolate.

So, she'd settled in with a cup of hot chocolate and a pastry to enjoy some people watching.

The handsome guy in the corner with dark sunglasses, well... he looked as if he might be doing some surveillance as well.

[Completely open! Both Mercy and Michael Samuelle are here.]

It was a sunny, summer Saturday afternoon. It was pretty much required that the former vampire, now newly human Allie put on a bikini, grab an iced coffee to go and head to the beach to work on her tan.

She made sure to wear a hat and put on plenty of sunscreen. She didn't want to burn as she appreciated the sun.

[So very open.]

As it turned out, April had gone home to change, but she did not return to Caritas afterwards. The beach was closer, and way less boring than the bar, and since she had a water gun anyway, it seemed like the logical place to be.

She also brought a beer.

And that was the story of how April could be found sprawled in the sand on the beach in a t-shirt and boxers, drinking beer from a straw and occasionally firing vanilla frozen yogurt into the air.

Yup.

[[open! just not for fans, though, please.]]

It was early evening, and Jono, being somewhat twitchy after realizing that the island was doing something strange again, had decided that he needed some fresh air. Sure, 'fresh air' seemed to translate to 'coffee.' Was that really so wrong, just so long as he was going to sit in the park while he drank it?

Never mind that it was too late in the day for coffee, please. He'd actually stopped by J,GoB for a few bagels, and a coffee just seemed like the thing to get for himself, at the time.

The bagels, of course, were for the ducks.

Jonothon had a bit of a history, when it came to feeding ducks in the park. Sometimes, it was nice to just sit alone and toss them a few crumbs between thoughts. These days, it was a little bit like brooding, but with some of the edge filed off. And he was quite alright with that, thank you.

Derek was back at the Perk today. Because he didn't have much of a life outside of serving coffee, stripping, and finding love.

So much love.

Poorly written, slow-motion love.

Anyway, today he was sighing at the coffee pot. Possibly because the fangirl this time didn't know what everything behind the counter was called. Just go with it.

Once upon a time, there was a fanfic writer from Amsterdam who was very young and very confused about the meaning of the phrase "Coffeeshop AU." She also didn't have an English beta. (Nor, for that matter, a Dutch one.)

This explains why there wasn't a drop of alcohol, a barstool, or a dancefloor to be found on the premises of the Devil's Nest tonight. Thick, slightly sweet-scented air, the ever-present sound of water bubbling, trance music and an abundance of overstuffed couches and pillows to flop down on? That, Bo could provide.

Also, many, many bowls of Cheetos and Skittles on the counter and a slightly glassy stare.

Not that she would partake on the job, but contact high. What can you do?
