Café Fina, Wednesday

To say that a blackout was a bit of an inconvenience around Fina was something of an understatement, as the lights all ran on electricity. And the ovens. And the stovetops. And so on.
But at least the maitre'd was around and quite able to provide light for the café.

Book Haven - 10am-5pm - Open [5/16]

Chris was kind of liking his summer schedule already. A workshop on Monday and Tuesday off. Not that he'd done anything yesterday.

Today was work, which was always nice.

He opened Book Haven and set out the tray of pastries, along with coffee and tea, for anyone who might stop by and then he browsed the stacks and found a couple of books that interested him to look through.

Sparky Repairs, Wednesday

Despite his class today, Teddy didn't feel muc like a ninja. So now he was trying to make little ninja stars out of scrap metal.

Not that he would ever use them, but they looked like fun to just have.

And he was a dork and totally thinking about the next Con he was going to.

Johnny had never held a real job. A real job being that like the one he was hired for here.

After an hour of standing around and looking at various photo equipment and taking a few pictures of himself, he was bored.

Good thing he brought his Ben toy with him. Correction, The Thing toy.

So Johnny began to play; dancing The Thing across the countertop was highly entertaining. Shut up, yes it was!

He might have been thinking about Charlie too and their date today. Okay, he was totally thinking about her.

Ah, and he had a pizza date lunch thing with Tori tomorrow.

Life was sweet.

Fandom Post Office: Wednesday 9...ish-5pm

Katara had almost forgotten she had a new day to work at the Post Office.

Which was why she ran through the door way, way late and was hoping Gladys did notice.

Maybe Gladys did and maybe she didn't, but she didn't say anything.  She just kept stacking mail into pigeonholes for the residents of Fandom.

Either way, she started to work. 

Empire Records, Late Wednesday Morning

After taking a limo to the causeway and then a rickshaw cab to the store, Melody was practically bursting out of her skin with excitement. She jiggled the key Maureen had mailed her in the lock and walked into her very own store for the first time.

It was clean -- at least someone had been working there -- but a little ... plain. But she could fix that! She released her three cats from their carriers to wander around, then tied her hair back and started painting the back wall palest pink with some paint she found in a storage closet. A little glitter, a few more fuzzy things, and the store would be even more awesome than it was already.

She was singing along to the Bangles loudly as she worked, and the store was open if you don't mind the smell of paint.

Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [ 05/16 ]

Well, at least the SquishyBot still seemed to be working, and the freezers and things were still good enough and stayed closed that they retained enough of their coldness that the frozen foods were fine. That helped Turtle maintain a better mood today. However, she seemed a little sign happy. There were four large signs outside the store today.

After visiting the bookstore for NWS reading material, Deadpool was in the park... reading.

Well, actually, reading might not be the best word for it. More like he was boggling over the book and working himself into a small panic attack. Those were some... interesting pictures there.

Maybe Arashi would be okay with a nice chaste relationship in which there are sonnets written and love pledged in a noble and... God damn it, he was going to have to do this, wasn't he?

Giles was sitting down and making up comprehensive -- and hopefully easy to read and look things up in -- notes for the new employees. Wouldn't do for them to accidentally mix up the ingredients of a prosperity spell and a destruction spell.

Movies In the Park!

Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up. There's a large open area in front of it, where movie-goers can spread out blankets or set up lawn chairs. Some people are already gathered, picnicking while the sun sets.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Devil's Nest, Wednesday Night 5/16

It was Wednesday night, so Kabuto opened the Devil's Nest just like every week. He had to admit he liked Musubi much, much better than Mazikeen. She was much easier to get along with. Strangely enough. Commonalities were always a plus.

Kabuto wasn't really thrilled to be working, though. Leaning with his back to the bar, he hid a yawn behind his hand. He really needed to report back home soon. Maybe he'd do that after closing.

Caritas, Wednesday Evening [OPEN]

Jarod opened the bar on time as opposed to this post and waited to see whether or not any of the new students came in. He set out candles and lit them, so the entire bar looked much better.

The zombies didn't really care much one way or the other, and tuned up carefully for a capella and acoustic night.
