Andrew was excited about his first day of work. He had spent a long while picking out an appropriate t-shirt that he hoped would appeal to the full spectrum of customers.

Coming in early, he gave the shop a good once over with a broom and duster, and spent some time making sure all the product looked nice and orderly. He unlocked the door on time, stuck his head out into the street and yelled, "We're open!"

The Magic Box is open for your magical needs.

Johnny slept so much yesterday that he was feeling pretty good this morning when he opened up the Hut. Still, he had his big cup of coffee and a glazed donut he'd handwavily grabbed at J,GOB before coming in.

Standing around, he set down his motocross magazines he'd purchased the other day at Book Haven and started thumbing through them.

Lunchtime took Johnny to Chilly Boulder where he was meeting up with Isabel for some ice cream. It sounded pretty good about right now too given the heat outside.

Parking his butt in a chair at a smallish table, he tapped his fingers along the smooth surface and waited for her.

(Chilly Boulder is open, but Johnny is here for Isabel.)

Katara had brought along some shrimp for Not Tiddles in hopes that she would behave today and not visit retribution on her for some imaginary slight.

Once Not Tiddles was eating happily, Katara took advantage of the window of opportunity to start trying to write a letter to Molly.  Of course her written English was even worse than her ability to read English, so the letter was very, very hard going.  After a while, she gave it up and wandered off to start sorting the mail.

Charlie had worn her swim-suit so she could cool off after firestarting practice, and brought a cooler of water, as well as a bag full of stuff to practice on. She dug out another fire pit in the sand, and ringed it with rocks while she was waiting for Isabel.

[ooc: for [livejournal.com profile] izzyalienqueen but open to anyone who wants to play on the beach, or watch the practice from a safe distance.]

D opened his shop with a feeling of contentment after last night's appointment; it had gone very well and, he believed, would probably end up just as well, which was not always the case.

He went to the front door to hang out his sign and then sat down on one of the couches with a glass of sweet tea to enjoy the day.

For his shift today, A.J. was pensive and distracted and it showed in the fifty million little origami paper napkin birds he was making and setting on all the tables and, after he'd managed to find some string, hanging a couple of them from the ceiling. If anyone paid particular attention to the very, very, very small details, they'd notice most of the marked with the name Corey. It was A.J.'s penance for where a certain innocent little pizza date. Each finished bird was supposed to encapsulate a whispered apology heading north and back about a decade.

And then A.J. realized he was thinking about time traveling apologies of karma energy, and thunked his head on the counter. He was losing it.

Luke's is open!

As soon as he arrived at work, Bart set about to make Bob well... Bob. Who knew peeling off a name tag would take so long?

Though, ever mindful that Bob was a girl, Bart made sure that the new name tag had pink and glitter on it. Girls liked that, right? Hopefully Bob did.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Coffee, Java, Red

Turtle & Canary is open and properly named!

Gabriel was impressed by the fridge. It would certainly come in handy. Together with the bed the church felt a lot more comfortable.

Jack was grinning as he sauntered into Fast Eddie's. He was a bit early for his date with Jo, but he figured killing time wouldn't be a problem. He took over a pool table and racked the balls, picking over cues until he found one he was happy with, well able to amuse himself shooting pool until Jo arrived.

He really wasn't very good at it. Honest. That he sunk four solids on the break was just a fluke.

[ooc: Jack's here to meet Jo (with parental permission omg!), but open for all your Fast Edddie's needs.]

Dale... had nothing to do.

All the paperwork that he needed to do was complete and the paperwork that he needed to to for tomorrow was complete.

So he was just sitting back in his chair, drinking coffee and boggling at the joys of wikipedia.

Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up, along with plenty of tarps and awnings to provide dry places for the audience to sit. A few people have arrived early to share picnic suppers, and to visit with their friends.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]

Chris opened the book store, set out refreshments for anyone who might stop by and then headed for the self-help section to see if he could find any books that might help Summer deal with her grief.

Kabuto had learned quickly to not play Rock-Paper-Scissors with Musubi. She tended to take offense when she lost, and the ninja had no desire to spend the rest of the evening with a pissed off Shiko-me - especially if she was in her spider-like form. So he politely let her win and edged away, moving to clean things that didn't really need to be cleaned, but made a good excuse to get away from Musubi.

The Devil's Nest opened with a borderline angry demon and a carefully-avoiding-her ninja.

The problem with spending two months or so in another galaxy while only a week passed here was that it was hard to know what day it was.

Which was why Jaina ran into Caritas a little on the late side with a "Sorry sorry sorry!" as she rushed to set up.

Lana couldn't stay for practice. She'd been doing so well dealing with Jim being gone and Johnny's sweet overprotectiveness, but this was just too much. She had to just get away. So here she was, out on her favorite rock, just staring at the waves.

Not really tired yet, Johnny had a good bit of energy stored from his sleeping all day yesterday. Taking himself to the beach, he shot up towards the stars, flaming brightly. He enjoyed doing it at night; the flaming tail he left was so cool to look at it and often times did he write things in the sky. Flying as fast as he did afforded him the privilege of viewing his artistic ability. What? It was art! Come on!

Currently he was spelling The Human Torch. Then after consideration, he crossed out The Human. He was Torch!

(Johnny's flying, but the beach is open)

Hades had the microphone and spoke to the students that were around. "Since classes are a little light on Wednesdays and we don't want you charming little citizens of the future running around manic like you usually do, there's gonna be a thing on Wednesday afternoons. Today involves as little effort from me as possible.

You might or might not have heard of improv or Theatersports. Basically, there's a game, you're given a prompt, a few people jump in to participate and they make it up as they go along.

We'll be running a few games at a time all afternoon, so yeah, walk around, join in, get roped in, whatever. I don't care."

[OOC: This is being held in the park so that all Fandomites can join in - namely, townies are more than welcome to participate. There will be threads for each game. Ping in and pair up or team up in each game. You can have a few attempts if you want. The idea is to use the prompt and then try to make a scene up as you go along. Further details specific to each game will be in the thread. Wait for OCD! OCD done!]

[ETA: Weather modded. It's not raining.]
