Busy as usual, Turtle has her laptop with her at the counter, working on a few income reports and stock portfolios while sipping from a very large mug that she'll swear left and right was filled with coffee (it was, in reality, hot chocolate). The demure "Help Wanted" sign was still in the main window and Apu had claimed to have lost the banana suit. She was really doubtful on that last one. A banana suit seemed a difficult thing to lose.

He was going to be entertained all day.

Mary spent most of yesterday lugging Christmas decorations upstairs from the basement. Today, she was paying for it. Every muscle in her body ached. Fortunately, the lobby had plenty of comfy couches. So instead of sitting at the front desk, Mary was lying down on the closest couch and giving instructions to Gunther as he put up decorations around the lobby.

Gabriel decided to venture outside today and could be seen - and heard - playing the trumpet on the church steps.

Annette didn't  make it back to Fandom last night. She didn't make it back this morning either. It was afternoon before she dropped off her luggage and hurried to work, thankful that Gladys had been manning the counter for her.

"You Look Funny," she said, staring at Annette.

"I fell, Gladys, but I'm okay," Annette answered. "I'm sorry I'm late..."

"You Shouldn't Be Falling Like That. I'm Going To The Back Now," and she turned and walked to the back, towards the sorting engine, leaving Annette to handle customers did they come in.

The Post Office is open.

It was Monday, and that meant Tinker Bell was hung over. It also meant she was supposed to be in her store. Right! Her store! Filled with pretty clothes and people to laugh at. She should definitely do that. Hung over or not.

Tink was here. And Tink was considerably more cheerful than you'd expect for a headachey, belligerent pixie.

George Michael was stirring chocolate. Nice warm thick chocolate. Funny how you can just never grow tired of some things. Chocolate was one of them. And he wouldn't be Mr. Manager if it wasn't for the bananas that were always extremely good. Great even. Great good bananas. Yes.

The shooting range was done and open.

Cable did not particularly advertise this fact. The Open sign was on the door, and that was about it.

The only obvious change was that he spent a part of his day in the meditation room instead, training, sweeping his Psimitar around in controlled fighting blows.

Jolee was here. The bar was open. Tino was taking care of things for a little bit while Jolee was reading a newspaper. The fact that the newspaper was very close to his face - perhaps even on his face - and there were strange, snoring-type sounds coming from under it. He was a very thorough reader.

[OOC: I'm settling in after flying back from the Land of Being 30 Degrees Warmer Than Chicago Today, so Jolee will be quiet until about 7 Central Time. Mod Tino for speedy service before then or you can wait for Jolee.

I lied. I'm dead tired. It's just a Tino night.]

D'Argo didn't really care that Braca had left. Good riddance, actually. The only reason he was even going up to town hall was because it was the right thing to do, to... tell someone. Or something.

When he got there, he looked for the first receptionist type person he saw, saying, "I'm here about your mayor."

The woman smiled, like she was playing along with a really good joke. "I'm sure you are!"

...Okay. "He's not coming back."

"Like I didn't already know that, silly," she said, still with that smile.

He was definitely not in the mood for this. He'd had a really long... however long he'd been gone, he'd had a tiiiiiiny little bit of trauma, and by the looks of it, he was stuck here. "Look," he said. "I'm just letting you know-"

"Your office has been cleaned," she said. "It's ready for you."

D'Argo stared at her. "Uh. What office?"

The receptionist sighed. "Ex-Mayor Braca already told us you'd be acting as his successor. We got your office ready for you."

"..." he said, and then tried again. "...That's a mistake."

"No, he was very clear."

"Okay, here's the thing. I'm not a mayor."

"You are now," she said.

"No, I'm not."

"Are you going to stand here and argue all day or are you going to look at your office?"

It took about a microt for him to think about it, finally deciding to go with the second thing. Just to see, you know. It took him about another microt to decide it really was a pretty nice office....

[All hail your new alien overlord. NFI, omg. Was supposed to be posted way earlier, yes.]

So there were three very drunk students wandering down the streets of fandom, singing - okay, maybe it was more yelling than singing - and giggling and falling over quite a bit, and making quite liberal use of the spray paint and setting off any number of fireworks, which spelled out fun things like "BOYS SUCK" (with a quickly amended "NOT JOHN THOUGH" tacked on afterwards).

"I wish I knew gang tags," Rikku sighed, shaking her can again and aiming at the nearest wall.

(Molly and John modded with permission! for the revelers and the one who's gonna burst their bubble!)

As it had become a habit on Sundays, Gabriel put up the note on the church door:

Do-it-yourself Sunday Service
All day

Not that he expected anyone to actually take up this offer.
