Coraline had gotten up early this morning. Dressing in her warmest clothes and her new jacket, she'd gone exploring.

She'd explored the Preserve, not all of it, but enough to assure herself the trees were actually trees. She'd explored the beach and the rocks and walked across the Causeway, peering down into the ocean, and strolled around the carpark, kicking the gravel.

Coraline would never admit it to anyone, but she was making sure the island was attached to the rest of the world, that it wouldn't go all foggy at the edges and disappear into white mist. Satisfied that all was well, she made her slow and considered way through the town until she found the bakery.

Now she was carefully exploring the possibilities inherent in a large sticky almond pastry and a hot chocolate.

She was also keeping a sharp eye out for any gremlins.

[The bakery is open, and apparently quite yummy.]

Having had a chance to glance at a calendar at some point in the past couple days, Doctor Doom realized full well that it was now only 2008, mere weeks after Victor von Doom left Fandom even though he had lived a full year and mere weeks in that time. This annoyed Doom, for he was still a junior. It meant that Doom likely still had his job at Wexler's store, though. While he didn't particularly care about gainful employment, it did give him access to things that he would otherwise have to ask someone else for.

And that's how he special ordered a throne for his dorm room.

Today's Squishy flavors: Doom, Doomberry, Grape Doom

It wouldn't be a real day without Katara waking up early to practice her waterbending on the beach.  And, since Sunday was a real day, she was there bright and early to work through the forms, thinking about nothing but water and the movement.  The push and pull of the ocean's tide, the chi in the water pulsed through her as she manipulated it first up into a cyclone then a huge wave crashing over her.  Spinning with glee, she set herself again, trying new movements, new forms she'd been working on.

Michael's roommate was in bed with a hangover. After briefly considering tormenting her, he decided it wasn't worth the aggravation that would almost certainly result. So he went out to explore the town and surrounding area instead.

The rocky bits reminded him of home - much as he bitched about the desert, he did kind of miss it - so he gravitated that way after a while.

Joanna was in the ticket booth, smoking a cigarette and paging through a glossy fashion magazine. There was a large sign hammered into the ground outside that read:

All Tickets Half Price
When Accompanied by a New Student

Robin made sure everything was clearly labled, and put up a "Back to School Special" sign up in the window. He wanted everything to be ready for any new students that might need magicky stuff.

The Magic Box is open and ready for your patronage.

Sunday morning found Mohinder jotting down a few last minute adjustments to his class syllabus. That it was both a Sunday and a morning meant that required coffee, which was why he found himself in the Perk.

Why his second cup appeared to have fruit floating in it though, Mohinder couldn't quite explain.

There were a lot of reasons A.J. was more subdued than usual when he came into work today, up to and including a major caffeine crash from having too much yesterday, the kind that had him giving the coffee machine dirty looks every time he passed it. It was the kind of day that A.J. felt like he really didn't want to be here for once, and so he was spending almost all his time with his sketchbook instead of bothering with stuff like cleaning the counter or putting more napkins in the napkin holders.

Appearantly new people had arrived in Fandom, and some of them might be religious. Gabriel put up the note on the door as he usually did on Sundays, hoping that someone would finally show up to entertain him

There were new kids on the island now, but Anders had barely noticed, worried as he was about his best friend's continued MIA-ness. In fact, he was pretty lucky to remember he had to go to work tonight, and on time at that. The zombie band got a pretty sub-par tape job tonight, which in the context of an Anders-style tape job meant that it didn't include layers of foam pre-wrap and a sports training lecture, so they weren't complaining.

Tino was pretty gleeful, on the other hand; Anders spent so much time staring at his phone, hoping a text or call would come through from Bridge, that he didn't notice every time Tino flicked an olive at the back of his head.

She had no plans for the day, and that made going for a long walk an excellent choice. Any details peculiar to this particular day needed to be observed and memorised, because in a day this day would no longer exist except as a memory. In just a few months River's path would divert from that of Fandom, and so she felt the need to make the connections stronger while it lasted.

She found a tree and swiftly climbed up, finding a branch that made a good seat and pulled her apple out of her pocket.
