Cable still had half his mind set on the previous night when he came in with his coffee, papers and dog. He brushed it off eventually: he had some work to do. Most specifically, a somewhat unpleasant phone call to make.

Even more specifically, he had to call Irene. Hopefully, news of the carnival's success would keep her from asking about the weekend.

He doubted it, but he had some things (what was up in Thailand?) to discuss with her, and he'd just have to live through it.

Millie opened the store and bustled around quite cheerfully getting thingsready for customers.

[No OCD today. My availability will be rather sporadic to non-existent due to manadatory state testing for my students, meetings till late and opening night of my play.]

When you're a former angel of death, a desk job kind of seems a little lackluster.

Okay, a lot lackluster.

There was paperwork (what fucking angel did paperwork?), stashes of keys, contracts, files and various other things that were all meticulously labeled. An in depth list of instructions was taped to one of his drawers, detailing all the ins and outs of being a landlord.

Loki used it to spit out his gum.

His own apartment, the one that came with the job (he hesitated to call it a perk because a fucking apartment seemed way too permanent) was nice enough. Big, at least. It wasn't much but it was something.

Whatever. He was here. He'd, at least, looked at the list of people who were supposed to be living here and unlocked the front door. He figured that was enough for a first day.

[MHA is open for business! Please see MHA information here. Several occupancies still available and I'm around if anyone just wants to chat with Loki.]

Break weeks were all well and good, but Claire was going a little stir-crazy back at the dorms and decided, for lack of a better idea, to go to the bakery and try to draw street scenes.

A hail of green stones on her way into town had left Claire's arms and fingers stained, and she was still glaring at them a little as she settled into a booth at the bakery with a croissant and her notepad. As she glanced at her green hands, she thought there might be something to be said for going stir-crazy.

Even scrubbing her fingers hadn't done much to reduce the stain. "I'm going to turn into the Jolly Green Giant," she grumbled to no one in particular, as she picked at a croissant, wondering if it would somehow taste green.

[OOC: Open bakery, yep!]

Eliza really had washed her face and hands before she come, she did. But after she was pelted on this morning's delivery run by what looked like multi-coloured sleet, no amount of soap and water seemed to have a blind bit of effect on the blue and green blotches down the left side of her face, or her thoroughly violet hands.

Lovely. If by that you meant some other word entirely that was much less fit for company. Still, there was a shop to be opened, and open it Eliza did. As the rain of stones had battered the latest temporary E into oblivion, she fixed up another, this one of floral wire and several different hues of carnation, and altered the sign in the window to match.

Coming into work today, Cal was feeling a bit blue.

Literally.

No matter how hard he tried to scrub off the cerulean tint to his skin after being pelted by a few rocks on the way here, it wouldn't go anywhere. So he just gave up after a while and tried to figure out how he could try to explain away this one in his next article.

Marion and Mutt had arrived in Fandom early Thursday morning. One was very tired and wanted a nap and the other was a three year old boy. Marion noticed some very weird and very confusing differences about the town already but just assumed she had entered one of those experimental "towns of the future" type of deals. She didn't mind. Booze worked the same no matter where you are. But before she could worry about her new job, she needed to worry about finding that damn apartment building...

"Look, Mommy, look!" Mutt said, pointing at a very colorful gremlin that was grumpily walking by.

Marion was too distracted by a map of the town to notice. "Not now, honey..."

[And Marion and Mutt have arrived. Open!]

Annja had found that she enjoyed the sweat lodge the day Coyote hired her, so she got to the store early to make use of it again.

After she was finished, she was feeling a lot lighter and more balanced. She moved around the store to tidy things up before picking up the sign to put back in the window.

Savannah was quietly behind the counter going through notes and inventory for the store.

Okay, and some magazines.

The memories of the weekend were still with her and had her a bit sadly pensive as she couldn't believe what she had done.

She needed distraction and a way to try to get past it.

So that would be why she was making an inventory list of new things to order for the store.

Poor Sean.

Nast's is open.

While Sokka waited for Deadpool, he wandered around looking at all the nifty weight machines. He did a few reps on each just for kicks, until he got to one that was bizarrely complicated. After looking over the instructions for a few minutes, he wasn't any closer to figuring it out, and the drawings didn't help. "Dude, I don't think I can bend like that..."

[For one, but it's a gym, and it's open, and stuff!]

Hoshi had been halfway to the hotel when she got pelted by a shower of peach-colored rocks. She ran the rest of the way. It was a little bit later that she saw her reflection in the back of a spoon and realized that somehow, the rocks had left that peach color all over her. Scrubbing didn't take it away.

"This be th' last time I be gettin' me own rum," Barbossa bitched to the island at large as he flipped on the microphone and spun around in his chair. "Thar be rocks fallin' 'n dyin' everything..."

Brief pause.

"....oh, that be not funny at all. Anyway, this be Pirate Radio, I be Barbossa 'n I be here this week t' play yer requests--as long as they be not Miley Cyrus--'n give ye advice on yer sad excuses fer love lives, jes' like I be every week."

It was entirely possible that he hadn't noticed it'd been months since he'd done this last.

"The lines be open. Bother me!"

He flipped on "The Song That Never Ends" and cranked it way, way up. If no one would call, at least everyone would be in the same crappy mood he was in.

There was a bright bouquet of flowers on the desk today, and, quite frankly, Charlotte was thinking that was more than enough color for her today. As she sat watching the colorful rocks fall on the ground through the windows, occasionally striking a squirrel and turning it blue, or turning that teal dear orange (which was particularly disturbing, for some reason), she was glad that she didn't have any reason at all to go outside. She loved color, don't get her wrong, she just preferred it on her clothes and in her closet rather than right there on her skin.

[[ the gallery is closed but the post is open; the doors aren't even locked today because Charlotte figures not many would brave the rockstorm ]]

The warm weather meant Tony was wearing nothing but a t-shirt when he walked from the dorms to the theatre. Which left plenty of skin open to the rocks falling from the sky. He got hit with no less than seven different colours. Look, he was all for pride and such but dying his skin in a rainbow pattern was a bit much! When he got to work, he tried to scrub the dye off, but it wouldn't come out. He gave up and found a seat in the back of the theatre to hunch down and work on the new budget, adding in the money from the bake sale. Hopefully no one would see him until the colours wore off.

[Open and OCD-free! Use the stage or talk to Tony. Sadly, I don't have a custom icon for this event.]

Chuck was very disappointed to find that his favorite pair of breasts bartender wasn't in Caritas this evening. Now what was he going to look at all evening? Well, he came all the way down here, he wasn't about to leave without having some fun first.

"Move aside, Rico," Chuck said, pushing Tino away from the bar. "I'll help myself this evening."

Tino started to protest but Chuck shoved a hundred dollar bill into his hand. That shut him up quite effectively.

Robin sat on the small lobster statue at the edge of the pond, idly tossing bread to the ducks. He had his banjo in it's case next to him, but he didn't much feel like playing. His mood had not improved since he'd returned to school.

He'd gotten letters of condolence and phone messages that he'd ignored. But it was getting harder and harder to maintain his Schrodinger-like denial of Beatrice's death.

There was a pile of debris forming in front of the keeper's dwelling as Tully started removing the unsalvageable bits from it.  He hadn't even tried to get into the tower yet.

He was hoping he wouldn't have to gut the house completely.  He was also wondering if he should see about hiring some help.  The more he saw, the more it looked like this was going to be a very big job.  At least as big as the Cayo Loco Light, if not bigger.

Jamie totally had Turtle and Canary open on time.

He really did.

No! Really! It's been open since the wee hours of the morning where he'd been diligently working hard on the store making sure it was spic and also span.

Myn still kind of had a hard time thinking of it as a date, but it was a good kind of confusion. The worries were easily squished and shoved out of the way.

He showed up a little earlier than the time he'd agreed to meet Eric, getting them a table but not ordering anything without him.

Which had nothing at all to do with not really knowing what was on the menu. Nothing at all. Really.

(for one, but open for your seafood needs!)

Mohinder had almost made it to the Perk without being hit by any flurries of rocks. His hand was on the opening door when, "Ow," his luck ran out. He looked up and, "What on earth? Ow."

It was a blue-green tinted Mohinder that ordered tea and a muffin. Oolong and blueberry, of course.

A few minutes later and one hurried trip outside and Mohinder had a seat by the door, a basket full of rocks and still-green tinted hands around his mug. He really hoped it wasn't permanent.
